Update to iOS 8.1.1., no connection to Mac FaceTime

After updating one of my iPad to 8.1.1, I have lost possibility to connect through FaceTime with my MacBook, but I keep connecting to other iPad (with old 7.0.6) without issues. The other iPad with 7.0.6 still connects with MacBook (Mountain Lion). Under "contacts", when I tip on my Macbook, there is not the symbol for the FaceTime. FaceTime is active in my MacBook too. Any ideas

sberman,
I have different iPads and one MacBook… I am not trying to connect myself with the same iPad , but trying to connect from my iPad with 8.1.1 to my Mac (Mountain Lion). It's something very normal to do, e.g. when traveling and calling home...
My second iPad is not yet updated (it still has 7.0.6) and has no problems connecting to Mac...
Yes, if I tip any of my contacts, I see that row with "FaceTime", with the exception of my MacBook, it has only a e-mail address...

  • Since updating to ios 8 my wifi wont connect on ipad 3

    Hi all
I've recently updated to ios 8.1.2 and now can't connect to the internet. The wifi signal from my router is strong and it will connect to the google search pages but as soon as I click on a link to a website I get an error message saying you are not connected to the internet. I have reset the router and reset the network settings on the ipad. I have also tried to connect at work and get the same problem so it is definitely a problem with the ipad. Can anybody help please???

  • IPhone updated to iOS 8.1 unable to connect to internet

I've just installed iOS 8.1 on my iPhone 5.
the iPhone is able to connect to a wifi and access internet at any other wifi network other than the one I use at home.
However before updating(when I was using iOS 7.1.2) the iPhone was working normally,it was able to connect to connect to the wifi and access internet.
The router I use at my home is a netgear one.
The iPhone works just fine with any other wifi other than the one i use at my home.
The wifi works fine with other devices I've -laptop,iPad 2(still using iOS 7.1.2)
    Thanks.

An iPhone will not pair via Bluetooth to a computer (Mac or Windows) except for personal hotspot and then only if your cellular plan supports it. Bluetooth: Why can't I pair my iPhone or iPad with my computer?
If you are attempting to use Handoff/Continuity, that does involve Bluetooth but the devices are NOT paired; Bluetooth just needs to be on and the devices in range of each other. The following MAY help with that but there are numerous reports of issues: Get help using Continuity with iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite

  • Updated to iOS 8 and can't connect to projector

I just updated my ipad to iOS 8.2 and can no longer connect to a projector. I am getting this error message. But the settings page indicates my OS updated successfully. How do I resolve this?

I can understand if you only read the friendly URL, you can imagine you have to jailbreak your device, but if you spend 1 minute reading the article, you'll see the steps to downgrade to 8.1.3.
Head over to this page and download iOS 8.1.3 IPSW for your iOS device. Ensure that you download the correct IPSW firmware according to the model number of your device. Installing the incorrect firmware could damage the iOS device. The download size of these files ranges from 1.5GB to 2GB. Therefore, downloading the firmware will take some time
Once you have the correct iOS firmware version downloaded, plug your iOS device to the computer using USB cable
    Launch iTunes
Navigate to the device's summary page and hold the Option/Alt on the keyboard. Or, Shift if you are using Windows
While holding the key combination mentioned above, click Restore in iTunes
Browse to the location where you have saved the IPSW file and open it. Now iTunes will begin restoring your iPhone/iPad and install iOS 8.1.3
I did it and it works fine again !!

  • Network connection timed out during iPhone4 update to ios 7.1.2 in iTunes on mac mini

I've tried several times to update my iPhone 4 to the iOS 7.1.2 update using iTunes on my Mac mini.  Each time, after about an hour or two, I get the message that the network connection has timed out.  I don't have any security software installed, so that can't be the issue.  I have the most recent version of iTunes, so that can't be it either.  I can't update directly on my phone, because I don't have enough space left.  Any suggestions as to why the network is timing out??
Thanks for anyone's help in advance.

simple hold the power button and the home button for 15 seconds and release the home to the iphone to turn on.
them try to connect to the computer in the itunes and when ask to update you choose to only download not update , when finish update the iphone .

  • Updates in iOS App Store. Cannot connect to iTunes Store

I have been having an issue with my iPhone. Whenever I tap the updates tab on the bottom of the App Store window it pops up with a message saying that my iPhone Cannot connect to the iTunes Store. It is not an issue with my Wifi connection as I have tried over 3G. It is not my Apple ID as I have reset my password checkede all of my details and it works fine on the same Apple ID on my iPad. It is just my phone. I spent and hour on the phone with Apple Technical Support and they could not troubleshoot it, so put me through to a Senior Advisor. The phone line then cut off from Apples end. Even after I say OK to the message that opens it does not let me see my updates, it just shows a badge. Also the purchased bar in the updates section is not there. I can access the rest of the store as well, like the Top 25, Featured, Categories and Search. Just not my updates. It sounds like something so small it's not even worth it but it gets really annoying!
The guy at Tech support went through numerous things with me. Signing in and out of my Apple ID and signing in on a different one. Checking my Internet connection. Resetting my network settings. Resetting all of my settings and have you turned it off and on again? I had tried all of those previous to being on the phone with him.
I was wondering has anyone else had this problem? How can it be solved? Should I take my iPhone into an Apple Store? Should I reset it by erasing all data on it?
    All feedback would be great!
    Thanks

    Hi Hamid,
I had realised that my iPhone Date & Time settings were not on auto so I can manually change them. Also I had heard rumours that other peoples' iPhones were doing the same thing as mine. I had looked into it for a day or so and found the answer on a website from Google.
I checked it and it worked!
    Also thanks
    Jack

  • "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPod" It's the charger that came in the box for my iPod 5 and after I updated to IOS 7 it no longer connects to my computer, but charges in the wall with no problem.

It still charges in the wall, but when it comes to putting songs or pictures on my iPod, it won't connect to iTunes or charge while plugged into my computer.

    - Try another cable. iOS 7 made the iPod/computer more sensiteve to cable problems
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

Not a good sign. Try forcing the phone into recovery mode & restoring it. If this fails, make an appointment at an Apple store:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

  • After updating to iOS-6 WiFi does not connect automatically.

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

  • Drop off wifi connection more frequently after update to iOS 5.1

After the system updated to iOS 5.1, the wifi connection on my iPhone 4S drops off more freqently than before. For example, when I updated Galaxy on Fire 2,  the wifi lost connection about 5 times. But the connection on my Android tablet and laptop is completely fine.
Did anyone experience the same ?

Check again your list of activated keyboards and make sure only English is there.  Then tap the English item once and make sure that it is set to qwerty and not qwertz or azerty under the Software category.
If you have a "globe" key on your keyboard, you have NOT gotten rid of the non-English ones from your setting.

  • IPod touch 4g won't update to iOS 5, ITunes always crashes?????

If I tell it not to update right after I connect my iPod, and update through the iPod summary it doesthe same thing. I have tried to update 15-20 since the update came out and it still hasn't worked. You can connect your iPhone to your compter and update using iTunes or on Wi-Fi directly on the device.
