Update to iOS7 still available?

I have an iPhone 4S, currently running iOS 6 (6.1.3).
I'd like to upgrade to iOS 7 (no, not iOS 8).
Of course, in Settings > Software Update... I'm offered the iOS 8 upgrade, but nothing for iOS 7.
How can I upgrade to iOS 7?

IF you only read these discussions, or the rumor sources, you get a distorted view of the iOS behavior. These discussions are like the emergency room in a hospital...only the sick and ailing show up. The tens of millions without problems are not represented, except those of us providing help.
My daughter's iPhone 4s and iPhone 5 show no problems with iOS 8.0.2. Her iPad 2 and iPad Mini are fine.
The decision to upgrade is entirely up to the user...are there features in the system you want or need? Look at the additional functionality and use that to decide updating or not.

First, are you positive it is really not there? Have you looked in your iTunes folder in your Music folder, and in the media folders there? Do you see your media files?
If your media are gone it is a lot easier to restore from a proper computer backup. Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

Unfortunately, iOS 7 is too hard to push for the iPhone 4 and therefore has a lot of effects turned off to try to get it to run as smoothly as possible.
However, it becomes better and better with each update coming but it's hard to do anything about the hardware on an already released phones.
If you still have trouble or think they are too hard. My tip is, if so, to restore your iPhone 4 and make a clean setup with no iCloud backup. But all your photos in a photostream so you can access it later.

try tapping holding on the key that would be most similar to the letter you want to enter, that will bring up a menu of other characters similar to that character and maybe the greek letter will be included in that menu

There will be no updates for older versions.
So your choices:
Upgrade to Lightroom 5, or
Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all Raw files from the RX100 III to DNG format then edit the DNGs in Lightroom 4.4

I really don't want to uninstall all of the CS6 suite

I just received a replacement file to test for the camera raw plugin. This fixed the problem on my installation of CS6 that had updated to 8.4 and was not able to launch Camera Raw from Bridge, and also Bridge was not able to view or alter any Metadata.
There was no need to reinstall PS, just a direct replacement of the file. I don't know how Adobe will be supplying the fix, but as of now, I would not recommend updating to Camera Raw / DNG 8.4 if you are using CS6 until the new file is available.

the update to osx 10.8.2 has not taken effect? it showed it downloading the update in the app browser but did not restart of its own accord or take me to the grey screen it describes. after restarting myself it still says the upgrade is still available? and iphoto does not work as it needs 10.8.2 to work!

That error may result from connecting to a cellular network via a phone or mobile broadband device. If that's what you're doing, try another network.

OK, Today I went ahead & booted & tried again & it worked this time.
Not sure why it didn't yesterday. Maybe the servers were just overloaded? Several others reported similar.
Also yesterday when I ran Speedtest it showd download at about 25 mbps, This morning just before I re-started the download it was showing just above 30 mbps. So maybe the internet was less busy? Or at least the parts between me & the test server.
& so far it is working ok.

Are Tiger system updates still available?

If I install Tiger from a retail disk on my iBook 3G, are the combo updates still available through the software updater?

For others such as Quicktime I'd run Software Update to see what the newest version is, but I prefer to do the download myself just so I know it is safe and sound on my computer before doing the update.
If you use Software Update to do Java, keep on running it as it is incremental, not a combination updater.
Don't foget to use Disk Utility to repair permissions before and after updates.
