Update to iphone 1.0.1 and my IMAP mail no longer works...
i Updated today to iphone 1.0.1 and my IMAP no longer works.
Also just to validate i tried both wifi and EDGE. Symptoms as follows:
EDGE: Just states "Connecting...." forever
WIFI: States "Checking for Mail...." forever
I deleted and re-added the account. It confirms that "Exchange account verified". so here is what i have concluded:
1. my account is fine. worked yesterday pre-iphone patch and now doesn't work.
2. it is not an edge only problem, since wifi doesn't work at all.
3. i've tried both imap4 and exchange and neither works.
4. i've tried to restore - and that didn't work
5. i tried reset all settings. that didn't work
PLEASE HELP - I REALLY WANT MY EMAIL TO WORK.......
so now how do i undo the update? If i restore will the update go away?

I am having the same problem. I have tried deleting and recreating the account several times. I have tried /, INBOX, /INBOX and INBOX/. I have restored.
I can see my folders immediately. I can see changes to those folders immediately. I cannot get any mail! EDGE hangs at "Connecting" forever, WiFi hangs at "Checking for mail" forever.

A few days ago I updated to firefox 9.0.1, and when I am using firefox in the My Yahoo account, I can see my emails, but when I click on one to open it, I am asked to put in my password for yahoo. This shouldn't occur because it already know who I am because I can see my name there and my emails etc. When I put in my password it doesn't accept it.
The location bar is also known as the address bar, it is where you enter web addresses.
When it crashes does it submit any crash reports? If it does can you post some of the crash report IDs as that may help somebody identify the cause of the crashes. For details of how to get the crash report IDs see the [[Firefox crashes]] article. -
My iPhone apps keep crashing and my sleep button no longer works
So my apps keep crashing when I try to open them; everything from games to my email. My sleep/power button no longer works so I can't even shut it down to restart it. I don't know if I should just let the battery die and hope that by rebooting it will work again? Doesn't really make sense why they won't open anymore.

Updated to iphone 4.3.1 and SIM card can no longer be detected
After updating to the new iphone software, I received the message "no SIM card found in phone". I then tried to do a restore through itunes, and received a message in iTunes that there is no SIM card in the phone. The phone itself has now become unusable. We'll be taking it in to ATT, as it is likely dead. Anyone experience this? We've only had our phones for 2 weeks. Any suggestions are welcome!
JenniferHappily the phone was fixable. Took down to the provider, who ended up removing the SIM card and putting it back in--and guess what? It worked after that. I was then able to restore the settings, including the new system update, to my phone from my laptop.(I had backed it up before and after the update and before I did a reset). Who knows what caused the issue--I hadn't dropped it or anything like that. Hopefully just a fluke ...

Hello, I've updated the iPhone I have got I have a problem I hope you respond to some of the applications no longer work, such as the safari and skype and many applications are no longer working with the ios7.0.4
Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove apps from Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
- Press the home button when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue. -
I recently updated my iPhone 4s to ios6, and lost 1200 odd contacts. I recently sold my macbook air and also my mac book pro, so have no recent backups avaiable. I have a backup from about 4-5 months ago available on an external hdd as a time machine backup. Can I add/update contacts from the back up rather than restore? The reason i wish to do this is because in the update i didnt lose any messages, so all of the people i have met and networked with since that last update those many months ago, i have in my messages listings. They are all unidentified numbers at present but over time i will be able to work through the messages and based on the conversation recall who each was with. Also, yesterday, some two weeks after the update had left my contacts list entirely empty... a vast majority just reappeard, though all of them are without any phone numbers, all just emails or facebook contacts. This is the work of facebook not mac/ios6 isnt it...? Any help here would be greatly apprecaited. I am about 2 days from flying to canada and having those contacts would make life a lot easier.
You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

If it's in recovery mode, the data is already gone. Why did you never back up your important data?

Are they still listed on your device when you go to Settings>iCloud>Storage>Numbers? If so, they should still be in iCloud but you may need to contact support to find out why the Numbers app isn't able to access them: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/.

I have had to update my iphone 4 in itunes and it has now come up with a message, itunes has found a iphone in recovery and needs to restore it.
I dont want to do this as I cannot loose all my pics on my phone!

Please help!!Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, try this a few times if necessary. If still problem, you may have to just Restore your iPhone to get it working. In the future sync your iPhone with iTunes routinely and when it contains important data, iCloud when set correctly will do this for you continuously.

If you have failed to make sure that any apps purchased on the iphone were transferred to your computer before updating, then you will have to redownload.
Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links.
