Update to SLED SP2

Hi,
I have a Thinkpad T61 with Suse 10.1 SP1. I have the following messages when I try to update to SP2:
- This packages cannot be updated
    nvidia-gfx01-lenovo-kmp-smp
    x11-video-nvidiag01-lenovo
Any suggestion?
Thanks

As far as I remember, I just deletet the old ones... You could advise the Yast Online Update to do so. Be sure to have downloaded the latest Driver from Nvidia: http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html The installation is easy, read the explanations. For me it worked without any problems + XGL 3D etc. UncleVan.

  • Prescott Update with XP SP2 . . .

Saw this in a newsletter from Fred Langa, sori if similar info has already been posted . . .
"Most people installing XP's SP2--- including me--- are having no problems
at all. But enough people *are* having problems to warrant caution.
"There seems to be a compatibility issue between some BIOS's ,
Intel Prescott processors and a component of SP2 . A written
         report is at tinyurl.com/6belg
"Normally, Windows XP will run whether
the BIOS updates Prescott's microcode, or just leaves it at
Revision 0. But the new Update.sys installed as part of XP
Service Pack 2 will hard lockup the PC if Prescott's microcode
is left below Revision 8 (or for some Prescott steppings,
         Revision 7)."

Ok i've read the article, basiclly i believe that MSI is as is said in the article one of the few mb vendors that provide the latest revision 8 of the microcode, otherwise, I wouldnt have had such a smooth install of SP2, so once again MSI rules....

  • Der Update auf das SP2 führt zu einer Fehlermeldung.

Der Update von Diadem 9.1 ( SP2) schlägt fehl.
    Aktuelle Version: 9.10.2036
    Was ist zu tun?

    Hallo Josef111,

  • Updating xp to SP2 - going round in circles!!

Hi everyone, today I have successfully installed Windows XP inc SP1 onto a seperate partition using bootcamp. I put the MAC OS disk in and tried to run the bootcamp setup, however it states that I require SP2. I have SP2 on CD, so I thought this would be simple, right near the end of the installation, it crashes with the following error
"There is not enough disk space on C:\Windows\$NtServicePackUninstall$ to install Service Pack 2. Setup requires a minimum or 4 additional megabytes of free space or if you also want to archive the files for uninstallation, Setup requires 4 additional megabytes of free space. Free additional space on your hard disk and then try again."
I read on a forum that i need to upgrade to bootcamp 2.1 before I can install SP2, however I could not install Bootcamp as I need SP2 to do it!!
I am in a bit of a loop and cannot see an easy way out!!!
My network uses WPA and apparently I need at least XP SP2 before it will recognize the network.
I have spent a whole day on this now and really need some help!!!
    Any advice would be appreciated

    Hi Gary,
before giving up you might try me81s advise from here http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2154840&tstart=0
Though meant for SP3 difficulties, it might also work with your SP2 problem,
As for the slipstreaming process, it is not that difficult but has to be done on a Windows PC running at least XP SP2.
    See here http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxpsp2slipstream.asp
    Hope it helps

  • Updating Exchange 2010 SP2 to SP3UR9

    Dear Experts,
I am currently preparing my SBS 2011 for a migration to Server 2012 R2 with Exchange 2013 installed. On my SBS 2011 I ran the Best Practices Analyzer 1.3 and it mentions that "the most recent Update Rollup is not installed". In the Exchange
Management Console I see that I have Version 14.2 (Build 247.5) installed.
I have seen that there is an Exchange SP3 along with Update Rollup 9 available. I have installed all Windows Updates - no Exchange rollups were installed. Should I update to 2010SP3UR9? How do I best perform this update - install 2010SP2RU8, then 2010SP3
    and finally 2010SP3UR9?
    Thanks for your help.

You have to upgrade to 2010 SP3 first, then upgrade to the latest RU after that.
I would also ask in the SBS forums as sometimes there are special considerations around upgrades.

  • Tecra M9-136 - BSOD during Vista SP2 update

Tecra M9-136 asked this morning to update to Vista SP2 and during the process the BSOD 0x0000007E arrived. Restarted in Safe Mode and the installer continued and then finally reported that the update had failed - and reverted to SP1. This took most of the morning.
It will start in Safe Mode but on a normal boot-up, Vista SP1 gets through the fingerprint recognition and then fails with the same BSOD (it doesn't get as far as displaying the desktop).
The laptop has BIOS level 1.80. I've tried in Safe mode to install 1.90 but it tells me that the battery has insufficient charge and the power adapter isn't attached. Both untrue.
Stuck - need advice. Could this be a hard fault? Can't see how I can update anything if it's a soft fault.
    thanks

The message with the BSOD mentioned checking BIOS and driver versions. Anyway, no change made to that.,
I tried System Restore but the only available restore point was the SP2 installation. I thought Vista was supposed to save a restore point every 24 hours even if nothing new had been installed.
I've now found in System Information / Windows Error Reporting several messages like this:

  • Equium A60 Blue Screen after updating to XP Home SP2

I have a Toshiba Equium A60-692. I have updated to XP SP2 and now get a blue screen on start up with the message that ATI driver ATI2DVG has gone into a continuous loop. The Microsoft error report says this is due to incompatable drivers, but I have the latest driver from Toshiba.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    HI Laura,
if it is important for you to install SP2 on your notebook you should try a complete new OS.
At first save your data on an external device (CD, DVD, USB-HDD, ...) and start the Toshiba recovery CD. But pay attention all data will be lost, also other partitions!!!
After the new fresh OS is ready, update your drivers, Tools and QFEs from Toshiba HP and install it!
I the end try the SP2 installation! Then it should run!
    Bye Meier

  • AutoDiscover not working after Exchange 2010 SP2 - SP3 update.

    Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry if this is a really simple thing, but i've played around for hours and exhausted google.
I run a 2010 exchange server for everyone at the office, and today I updated from 2010 SP2 to SP3.
The problem I have is auto discover no longer accepts anyones username or password. If you set the account up on the client machine by manually entering the details everything works great.
All the DNS records are correct and have been working for 2+ years. I have recreated the Autodiscovery virtual directory in EMC.
If i manually browse to mydomain/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml, when asked for a username and password it says it incorrect. I can then log in to OWA with the same credentials and it works.
    Thanks,
    Garrett

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, the above issue is caused by the loopback check being enabled. Please follow the steps below to disable loopback on the CAS servers:
    1. Run regedit, in Registry Editor, locate and then click the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
    2. Right-click Lsa, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
    3. Type DisableLoopbackCheck, and then press ENTER.
    4. Right-click DisableLoopbackCheck, and then click Modify.
    5. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
    6. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your computer.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

I guess that de lower filter "tdcmdpst" (TOSHIBA Writing Engine Filter Driver) is the issue.
But I can't remove "tdcmdpst" filter even with admin rigths.

How can I remove this filter to upgrade Vista SP2 ?

Can you roll back OS to earlier time before you installed SP2?

  • Windows Update of Office 2010 SP2 fails with message Code B56

I have been trying to update a Windows 7 Ultimate + Office 2010 professional with SP2 as supplied both by Windows Update and dowanloaded SP2 from KB2687455.
All attempts fail with a Windows Update error code B56.
I have tried the 'get help with this error' but there is no entry that matches the problem.
I have tracked the event viewer error which is 0x80070643 - this appears to relate to error occurring with .NET, so I am no furrther on.
    Help Please from anyone.
    Alan Cameron

Thank you for your input. The email prompted me to come back and share what I have been able to do to solve the problem. No answers as to why it worked but what I did was using a dvd with a copy of Office 2010 Professional Plus I started the setup and when
it asked what  I wanted to do I answered Repair.
When this was finished I retried the update to SP2 and it worked.
It would be nice to know why it was failing but the pressure is off now.

  • SLED update problem

    Hi Gurus,
I have to update the SLED date while doing 261 movement in CORK transation.
The problem here is when there is some stock in the storage bin while doing 261 movement the SLED date is update in the LS26 trancastion.
But if there is no stock in the storage bin it allows negative stock in this case the SLED field is blank in LS26.
I checked with my functional he tole the stock is available at storage location level so we have to pull data from there.
Is there any exit for this functinality.
    Regards,
    Bhuavan.

Last week I updated from 10.0.1 to 10.0.3. Then found that the last created event had lost the link to it's files. Tried relinking. Found the files. Relinked - got message that 1 of 1 were ok. But I had still could not link the event with it's fileslink.
Tried again but this time the files that I had tried linking to had disappeared. And, before first I tired linking, when I clicked on the event a still from the event flashed up: this strange sighting stopped.
I was shocked by Apple's telephone support to ths issue. I quite understand that they don't give free support but when, prima facia, the issue is caused by their upgrade then they should do their best to support the customer. (I had 212 keywords which took me almost 2 days to create. Now I probably have no choice other than to do it all again.) Been a Mac user since '85 but I feel far less positive about the company now that I've been abandoned to my fate. No good business!

  • Java Plug-in not working with WinXP SP2 Registry Key Missing Error Pop-Up

I have WinXp PRO with SP2 and the Oct 12 Security Update Patch for SP2 loaded and I went to my Control Panel and saw that the JavaRuntime Environment 1.4.2_04 icon was missing and when I went to click the Java Plugin icon to Open it, I got the following message in a Error Pop-Up window:
The system cannot find the registry key specified:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java pPlug-in\1.4.2_04\JavaHome
I then went to Chage Access Program Controls and when I clicked on the Change box for the program, it wanted me to re-install the whole environment.
Prior to doing this, and potentially screwing up my MS winXp environment, I went to the Sun support page for Java Plug-in and I did get the dancing elmo appear as they said I would but I noticed that my environment was MS VM, not Java and that I was out of date and a newer update was avaliable.
The downloads page for the plug-in states clearly that it supports WinXp SP1 and NOT SP2.
SO, my question is, do I need to re-install anything or wait till the whole SP2 issue and java with (BITS) issue gets resolved and just use the MS VM engine during my browsing time? Is there a workaround and what impact will this have on my system? I am not developing Java Apps but am a Power user in Windows who is wondering if applets and general browsing might be easier, faster and more fluid if the Java Runtime was enabled as opposed to the MS VM solution?
Any ideas or thoughts on this very timely issue would be greatly appreciated as I see others have tried to post related issues but none that succinctly combines what I have asked for here in this post.
    Thanks from NYC -Phil

  • New Version 4.0 Bluetooth Software (SP2)

Found the following news.  As stated it works under SP2 as well.  Will owners of the Btoes Dongle be getting this update?  Maybie a mod, admin or someone from MSI can answer this.
    Quote
Broadcom® Upgrades Market Leading WIDCOMM® Bluetooth® Software With Enhanced Security, CD-Like Wireless Stereo Sound and New Profiles
New Release of Industry's Most Widely Deployed Bluetooth Software Also Features Support for Microsoft® Windows XP®-SP2
IRVINE, Calif., Nov 1, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq: BRCM), a leading provider of highly integrated semiconductor solutions enabling broadband communications, today announced WIDCOMM® BTW 4.0, the new release of its popular Bluetooth® software, enhancing security and adding advanced audio/video (A/V) capabilities to the industry's most widely adopted Bluetooth software. The new software was tailored and optimized for seamless integration with Broadcom® single-chip Bluetooth solutions and enhanced with important security upgrades for enterprise and small office customers. It was also tested and qualified for native support and seamless operation with Microsoft's recently announced Service Pack 2 upgrade for the Windows XP® operating system (Windows XP-SP2).
Wireless, high quality stereo audio headsets and speakers enabled by the new WIDCOMM BTW (Bluetooth for Windows) 4.0 software is an exciting new application expected to drive widespread Bluetooth adoption for consumers over the coming years. A/V enhancements built into BTW 4.0 software will bring a new level of audio quality to wireless headsets, enabling a generation of products capable of delivering CD-like stereo sound without the need for wires. The same A/V Bluetooth profile support can be expected to appear in upcoming consumer electronics products like MP3 players, cellular phones, PDAs, and other appliances.
"BTW 4.0 answers two distinct needs in the Bluetooth space: enhanced security, and the ability to effectively stream high-quality audio to wireless headphones or speakers. It is changing the dynamics of how consumers will experience multimedia content on their PCs," said Ron Wong, Senior Product Line Manager for Broadcom's Bluetooth software products. "Broadcom's unique ability to design and deliver all the critical technology pieces for next-generation wireless electronic devices enables our partners to bring products to market quickly and with features that hold great appeal for consumer markets."
    BTW 4.0 Enhances Security
Bluetooth has established itself as the clear wireless PAN (Personal Area Network) technology of choice in large corporations as well as small and home office environments. Leading PC OEMs are already shipping Bluetooth in a large number of their commercial notebook PCs and are expecting continuous growth and accelerated adoption into 2005. With this rapid adoption, large enterprises have expressed growing concerns over security and software virus spreads. The new WIDCOMM BTW4.0 software incorporates enhanced security capability to help address these concerns. Broadcom implemented unique software functionality and tested it to ensure a higher level of security, to meet the expectations of the most demanding customers and bolster the software against malicious attacks.
    New Software Transforms A/V
PC OEMs have come to appreciate the flexibility of embedding Bluetooth into their desktop and notebook computers to connect wirelessly with mobile phones and PDAs. Wireless mice and keyboards are taking advantage of the technology as well, offering valuable freedom and convenience to consumers. These same advantages are now enabled for stereo headsets and speakers with Broadcom's new BTW 4.0 software. Wireless headsets or speakers enabled with Broadcom Bluetooth technology can stream high quality sound while also performing remote control functions such as pausing or stopping play, and selecting tracks. In addition, consumers can place wireless speakers in all corners of the room, enabling enhanced sound and audio distribution for DVD and CD playback.
    New Features and Profiles
Broadcom's WIDCOMM BTW 4.0 incorporates the latest software "profiles," which ensure a common set of features between two Bluetooth devices. Bluetooth profiles are developed and standardized through the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). BTW 4.0 features many of the latest profiles, which provide advanced multimedia capabilities including:
         *  GAVDP -- Generic Audio Video Distribution Profile
         *  A2DP -- Advanced Audio Distribution Profile
         *  AVRCP -- Audio Video Remote Control Profile
BTW 4.0 also supports the Basic Imaging Profile, which provides the ability to "push" and "pull" images wirelessly between a mobile phone or digital camera and a PC. In addition, the new software release was designed to work seamlessly with Broadcom's BCM2035 and BCM2045 single-chip Bluetooth solutions. It was tested and qualified to work seamlessly with Microsoft's latest operating system update, Windows XP-SP2, thereby ensuring forward compatibility to PC OEMs and end-users as they upgrade to this latest operating system.
End users can be assured that as increasingly advanced Bluetooth A/V applications gain adoption, Broadcom's BTW software will enable a richer and more secure user experience.
