Update & transferring from phone to tunes

Hi, i have transferred purchases from my iphone to itunes in order to update to the new version 6 however it keeps telling me that not all items have been transferred and to do this before i go ahead with the update. Any help will be great - cheers

Was some of the content on the device purchased using a different Apple ID? If it was, the computer needs to be authorized for that Apple ID.

Opening video files transfered from phone to pc

transfered video from phone to pc and downloaded pc suite to pc but when i click on video file i get a message "cannot open file"

Which phone? Which version of PC Suite? Did you use the PC Suite "View multimedia" app/feature or some other app to view the videos?
What is the video file format (at least the file extension, such as .3gp, .3g2 or .m4a or whatever)?
What if you try some other video player like Apple QuickTime?

Stolen pc - how do I stop it synching & updating info from phone/iPad

I have had my lap top stolen, how can I remotely deauthorise, or stop the laptop automatically synchronising. I have iPhone and iPad to do this now? Is simply changing my password enough or is there something else I can do? I am concerned my personal information contained in apps/notes etc will continue to be synchronised with the stolen pc

Change all your passwords.
Deauthorize all computers then authorize only what you have.
There is no way it can sync or update info from your iDevices without a physical connection or being on the same Wi-Fi network.

2.1 issues can't update apps from phone 3G/Edge/wifi & App errors in iTunes

I get from the iPhone "Unable to Download Application, it will be avail when you log onto the iTunes on your computer."
So when I try from the computer to "check purchases and sync" it still says I have 2 or so apps on the phone App store icon.

IPhone 4s update was interrupted and message said phone had to be reset to factory settings. Lost all photos from phone in process of transferring to pc. Copy of my backup overroad that phone and all the old data and photos are gone.

My boyfriend and I share an iTunes account. I just tried to update his phone and during the update an error message occurred saying that his phone had to be reset to factory settings. It said it was an un setup phone and needed plugged in to iTunes. With no other choice, we had to select reset to factory settings. Now, my phone backup through iCloud downloaded onto his and all of his contacts and photos were overridden by mine. His photos were in process of transferring from the phone to the pc while this occurred and over 900 of them were complete when this happened. They don't show up on the pc now either since the sycn wasn't finished. Is there a way to get them back? When we plug his phone in now it shows my name instead of his so I'm not sure how to get to an old version of his backups even.

Thanks for that 'sberman' - because my iPhone is backed-up to my work computer (only at this stage) I have had to call our IT Department in Adleaide. (4 times this morning). The last guy managed to get the phone into 'DFU Mode' - no more recovery mode screen - (kind of 'asleep' perhaps) from my understanding of same. I am awaiting a call again from IT so they can get my computer to actually recognise my iPhone on the C Drive. This also happened to one of my colleagues in Newman (WA). She got so frustrated with the whole process that she bought another phone the next time she was in 'civilisation.' She hasn't had any problems since. (Cross fingers).

There is nothing wrong with Apple's activation servers. They are up & running just fine.

99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.
Apple has started to get "tough" with hacked iPhones, & simply won't permit their activation

Sounds like your iPhone was hacked to unlock and now updating locks back to the original carrier.

I know the importance of saving and updating your contacts. What type of phone do you have? If you are using Backup Assistant, you have the ability to sync the contacts between your laptop and phone. You will also be able to see if all your contacts are stored on the online portion of the application versus the phone itself. The contacts should be the same for both online and the phone.

If your device is signed into an old ID of yours that is an earlier version of the ID you want to sign in with, do the following:
If you are using iMessage and FaceTime, make sure you are signed into these services with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless you are using iCloud Photo Library). When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).
