Update with previous password
Trying to update/upgrade app's as they become available. I'm told to upgrade using the password etc that was used initially. Trouble is I can't remember the details. How does one retrieve those previous details in order to upgrade/update the apps.

Then you can simply move iPhoto from the Applications folder to the Trash,
sign into the App Store with your own AppleID
reload the "Featured" main page of the AppStore with ⌘R,
then download iPhoto with your own AppleID.
Make a backup of your iPhoto Library, before your launch the new iPhoto the first time,
If your current system is not Yosemite, you can only buy a boxed iLife 11 version of iPhoto to install it independent of the previous owner.

I bout the app "find my phone". Accodingly updated I tunes so that I could access icloud. Did all that. However, when I tried to unlock my phone with my password (which I did not change) it did not recognize it. Help!!

If you do not have access to the computer you normally sync with, it may be necessary to use one of these methods to erase your phone and remove the passcode:
iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode

If you see one of following alerts, you need to erase the device:
"iTunes could not connect to the [device] because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the [device] before it can be used with iTunes."
"You haven't chosen to have [device] trust this computer"
If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.

Help! Just did the Update (ML 10.8.4) after receiving a new HD since mine crashed last week and the shop didn't update it back to Mavricks which I had previously done...and now my Mac won't let me past the log in screen even with correct password entered. It just spins like I'm logging in and then goes back to the user log in screen. I did the process where I restarted and pressed control S and created a new user and password, but once created same issue and can't get passed that screen.
Super frustrated and any help is appreciated!I have decided to dedicate this thread to the wonderful errors of Lion OSX. Each time I find a huge problem with Lion I will make note of it here.
Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.

My MacBook Air will not allow me to update Iphoto with my Password to ITunes. What do I do?
I cannot get updates for IPhoto on the latest OS on my MacBook air when using my Itunes password. I just loaded a OS update with no problem using my password but it will not upgrade IPhoto. I have photos on my 5s that I want to get on my MacBook Air. How should I do that? It works fine on my clone running windows 7?
Sign out of the App Store and then sign back in with your ID and pasword. Then try again.

After installing the latest update to itunes, and my ipod, I can no longer sync my computer and my ipod nomatter what I do. I have tried everything I know and can read. I am beginning to think it has something to do with the password that I changed, but I tried to change it back and nothing happens. Does anybody have any suggestions. I have been working on this for three hours and I can't figure it out? Apple is no help and it was their updates that messed the whole thing up.

After updating iTunes to 11.0.1.12 and updating Apple TV to 5.1.1 my Apple TV is no longer picking up my photo library. It just keeps saying "loading library" but never brings the pictures up. It also tells me that home sharing isn't on even though it is and then I have to turn it off and on on the PC so the Apple TV even recognizes the photo library. Update on my previous comment. I have solved my issue. Issue was with Windows 7 firewall not operating correctly. I was unable to add itunes to the 'Allow programs to communicate through windows firewall'. I have an IPhone 4 which I just updated with the latest software, which put in it in Recovery Mode. It has the picture of the plug with ITunes, I downloaded it now its saying its in Recovery Mode, how do I save all of my previous data without Restoring?
I updated the phone before backing it up on iTunes, now the update wanted me to connect the phone with iTunes and it says the phones in recovery mode and it must be restored before its used with iTunes. I go to click restore and it says it will reset it to factory default and I'll lose all my current data. I have all my sons pictures and videos along with this notes. I can't lose all of this data! Please help!You have to restore the iPod, no ifs, ands, or buts...
After iOS is installed you will be asked if you what to set it up as a new iPod or if you want to restore from a backup.
If you have a good backup you can restore that and you're good to go.
If you don't have a good backup, then you end up with a "clean" iPod.... -
My Apple ID has been disabled, it won't let me updated my previous purchases. No reason for why it has been disabled or how to enable it again. I reset my password, security questions and billing info. Nothing… I even called Apple SUpport 1-800 # and they said they can't help me...Anybody has seen this before?...

Thanks for the help Niel. I couldn't change the rescue email address (an address that no longer exists and is therefore useless) until I could correctly answer the security questions. After numerous guesses, finally got them right. Was then presented with the option to change the rescue email address. Guess the only other option was to have Apple Support make the change or reset my account info. Have made note of the correct answers so this won't happen again. Thanks for the fast response!!

After updating my iPad to IOS 8.1.2, I am unable to access the Cloud with my password, even though it worked on my Macmini. I changed the password and it still does not work on the iPad. What can I do to get iPad to recognize my Apple ID/password account?
I would be helpful to know what those "basic steps" you have already tried are, but lacking that information:
Settings app > iTunes & App Stores - sign out of your AppleID
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
