Update wont complete
I have tried Downloading the latest iTunes version many times. When I do, it runs for a few minutes and then this pops up "Errors occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools>Download Only and try installing manually. I have tried to download manually and it still doesn't work. PLEASE help. I need to update my iTouch and I cant until iTunes is updated.
I downloaded iTunes from Apple. Install stopped with some problem with iPod permissions. I hit "abort" to continue install. Install completed. Now my iPod won't sync. This is worse than having backdated iTunes. What to do now?

Let's first try running a chkdsk over your C drive. There's Windows 7 instructions in the following document. Select both "automatically fix file system errors" and "scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you choose to go about things). You should be prompted to schedule the scan to run on restart. That sort of scan of the C drive should take a long time ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan:

Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
Hi i have just installed Leopard and went straight to software update to make sure everything was up to date. Now there was a whole lot of updates so i just selected everything and left it to download everything and update. Most of them worked fine however Garageband, Itunes and Quicktime dont seem to work. They all say that they are partialy downloaded but when i try to finish downloading them it sit there doing nothing for a while and then comes back with an error saying -
A networking error has occurred: timed out (-1001). Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again.
I am connected to the net and have tried restarting the computer and what not numerous times.

A general rule of mine is never never install more than one update at a time. For several reasons.
First, if one goes bad, you just don't know where you are.
Second, I don't trust computers to figure out all those installs in the right order, especially those that require a reboot.
Since you just installed Leopard, I suggest a reinstall and then updating one thing at a time.
There are probably ways to fix what happened, but you would never know if something is wrong, and since it's a new install, and I presume your original OS is backed up, just redo it. -
When I try to update my apps on my MacBook Pro, Ipad, and Ipod it wont allow me. On the computer it says theres and error. (11111) But on the Ipod and Ipad it starts to update and completely stops. What should I do?

No - I'm on 10.6.8 and it functions normally, though there are now very few actual updates. If there are no updates the progress bar should still complete in around 3 minutes and announce that there are no updates, so you've got something hanging somewhere. If it's still stuck hit command-option (alt)- escape, select Software Update and hit Force Quit. You could try it again (I should reboot first) in case it's a one-off glitch, but if it still sticks force quit it again.
The best suggestion I can offer is to apply the combo updater anyway in the hope that it may over-write whatever is causing the problem.

I've downloaded a few apps since I got my ipad 3 two weeks ago...now it just sits on ( waiting ) and wont complete the download. Any ideas? Thanks, Chris
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again. -
I have HP Compaq Presario C700 (Not sure what model since there are many of C700 up there) that wont completely charge. When it reaches 59%, it stops charging and the charging light will turn off. It also says 59% available (plugged in, not charging) on the taskbar. This problem is happening with a new battery which is 12 Cell.
Things already done:
1) Calibrating the battery(Discharging and charging it again).
2) Updated Bios
3) Uninstalling Microsoft ACPI -Compliant Control Method Battery ......
scanning for hardware changes, restarting.....
4) Returned the battery then got another NEW ONE which does the same thing.
Right now, I have no idea what to do. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks..It is ok. Atleast you offered help.

My phone had the gingerbread update last night and phone was working normal today (with the exception of low space icon which had previously been popping up despite space being available) and then tonight I get a OTA for 4.08, press install and my phone tells me that I don't have enough internal storage for the update to complete. I have 557 MB of internal storage free (73%), have deleted over half my apps since the gingerbread update, have cleared data and cache from apps, don't use the stock email app and have very few text messages saved so I'm not understanding how I don't have enough internal storage. Has anyone else experienced this or have any insight into it? -_-

has anyone had this problem, or does anyone know a solution?I'm having this same problem. After installing Logic Studio last night I ran Software Update which updated my software but skipped ProApplications Update 2007-1. It went straight to ProApplications Update 2007-2 and told me there was an error installing Update 2007-1. So I came here, downloaded Updated 2007-1 on its own and installed it without a problem. Now whenever I run Software Update it tries to install ProApplications Updated 2007-2 but tells me there is an error. I tried the link to the update and am redirected to a Final Cut Studio page and asked for my Final Cut Studio serial number--but I don't have Final Cut Studio. I have Logic Studio.
Any suggestions on how to rectify this? -
I was backing up my iPhone using iCloud. It stated the update was completed and to select continue. Now I have to choose a Network??? I am with Verizon, not Wi-Fi, even though we have Wi-Fi for my laptop. Selecting other asks for Network Name and Security. I am lost! I cannot get out of it!
Assuming the phone isn't jailbroken, the basic steps (as needed) are:
Restart phone (you already did this)
Reset phone
Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup

If your phone is jailbroken, this is the most frequent cause of the problems you described. Restoring could permanently brick the phone.
Note that your iOS is old and the current version is 4.2.8. It's odd that it wasn't updated when your activated your phone in iTunes, being that you got it last Friday. -
when I try to install icloud on my laptop running windows 7 home premieum I get message saying the windows installer package wont complete as a program run as part of setup did not finish as expected the install then rolls back I have tried reinstall deleting files signing on with another account etc nothing works I have read this is an apple programing problem if so is there a fix I need iclouds thanks

my phone has switched off for the second time this week, however when connecting to itunes the restore process wont complete. the error is 2006 however i have tried a number of USB cords, and none seem to be working.

ITunes 7.0 Says Update is complete - but is not
Hi - Different angle on the iTunes 7.0.1 headache. iTunes syncs to my iPod (30g click wheel b/w) and says update is complete. But there is no music on my iPod! Any help? Is there an option to download the previous version of iTunes? The kicker was finding this out on a 4 hour flight. Thanks.
