Update wp keep on updating..

Dear gurus,
One of my user facing a problem with updation, when the user trying to Create a number range for a document it is not generating the number range for the document. the problem is the update workprocess keep on updating it is not completing the updation. it run for many hours but the process is not completing.
when i check the SM13 updates it is showing one update error.
if the update process is completes then the document will be posted.
pls help how to resolve. it..

Please double click the error shown, it will lead to a error because of which the update is not happening.
Please see the necessary tables on entries.
Please take help from ABAP team and execute the transaction in debugging mode and find the exact point of error in transaction processing. And we can provide the soultion for root cause.

Software Update server keeps downloading updates when set not to

When I first setup our server (10.5.x) for software update, I looked over the option to to uncheck the box for automatically downloading updates from Apple. Since then, it has downloaded pretty much everything. I've unchecked that option and also selected it to delete old updates. It keeps downloading updates and won't delete older updates. We've since upgraded to 10.6.2. Same thing. I've even manually deleted ALL of the updates only to watch them all come back. Any clues?

I have the same problem and have yet to find a sensible answer to this problem. I have three Macs at home and only need a small proportion of the updates that Apple supply yet no matter what I do, I can't seem to stop SUS downloading everything even though I don't want it and have told it not to download.
Best of luck getting any sense out of Apple on this. I'm going to try a home made solution to get round this problem.

If it says your billing info is wrong that means that your credit card issuer is refusing to approve your account. You will have to solve the problem with your bank or credit card company.

All apps downloaded/purchased are tied to the apple ID used to download/purchase them.
If you change your Apple ID and do not wish to use the old apple ID and password to update them, you have to delete them and redownload or buy them under the new apple ID.

I keep gettin updates from my app store but yet when I go in and update all it starts the update and then pops up and tells me that the application cannot be downloaded at this time. I have had to delete a few apps bc this isn't working.

First check that your device is not full, maybe you may have to delete some photos or apps to make space to do updates. if its not full then you will have to try pluging it into your pc/mac running itunes then doing a backup and restore. Then you should be able to do your updates.
Sorry but i cant think of any other way if its showing as installed already but is not there.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

Apple's failure to keep us updated...

Although the problems of the heat and whine are extremely well known, Apple has failed to keep us updated on these problems. If they could both be solved with simple firmware updates and Apple knew this, you'd think it would be in their best interest to just come out and say "These problems can and will be fixed with firmware in the near future. It is safe to buy a MBP and you can rest assured that future updates WILL solve these problems." Right now I am waiting it out...and I am sure others are too. I feel like the failure to speak to use about it may be because they know that the problems lie in the hardware and cannot be completely fixed with firmware/software updates. If they came out and said this, they'd see a sharp decline in MBP purchases. Others on this forum know how Apple works much better than I do. I may be completely wrong and continue to have faith in Apple. As of now, though, I continue to wait.

here's a novel idea, complain to apple, don't preach to the choir!
Many people continue to complain about their concerns on this forum, for the sake of complaining, and not looking for support. This is a support forum for us to help others with many technical and non technical questions, of which I have received phenomenal response times from some very knowledgeable users.
When it comes to these concerns with the Mac Book Pro, we are not the ones that can solve these issues, apple is, so complaining to us has no benefit. Put pressure on apple by calling them, bringing your computer in, and documenting all of your problems, and their "lack of response" that way.
Their lack of communication to current MBP owners shouldn't be considered their fault - rather your fault that you're not questioning them why you're having problems with your computer.
Help them help you by bringing your computer in or calling apple care. If you gain no solutions that way, then complain.

3GB for a movie? That's almost equivalent to an original DVD.
Have you checked in the Recently Added playlist?
I think this is possibly linear. Select 'normal' in HB, iTunes accepts it; select 'high quality' in HB iTunes doesn't. I can't say why; I don't have any video that anywhere approaches 3GB in size. If that's how iTunes behaves I don't see you have too many options. You either select normal and it works, or you select HQ and live with playing the movie outside of iTunes.
I won't ask what movie because any help with illegally ripped copy protected DVDs is strictly prohibited by the Terms of Use so I'm assuming this is a 6 hour video of your puppy playing on the floor.

I researched the advice on the link provided by b noir as well as very similar advice from apple support: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376. It worked for me (for now).
Some things of note:
I did all of the things requested by the link I provided
My computer WOULD NOT uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support. I had to manually remove the folder (also as instructed by the url)
I also uninstalled MobileMe. Was a little different than removing the other apps. Follow instructs provided here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2992
I did not uninstall iCloud
I have to admit it was a bit scary removing all those things. Is important to note that when re-installing Apple, follow steps to do so as Administrator (the right-click thingy and whatnot).

Quit the mail app and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Back up all data.
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.
