Updated 10.3 prob with z10 screen after waking up fron battery save

Just updated Z10 to 10.3. When the phone goes into battery saver, when I swipe to use phone, icon are large and have to resize screen. This happens no matter what app you are in or just home screen. The screen needs to be resized to fit screen after waking every time.

Thx. That solved issue. However, now I can't enlarge screens where I need to. Thanks for the reply.

I've been using it on all of my computer without any problems. Remember you won't see any positive comments here. Everyone here is complaining about a problem. If you want a good experience with any upgrade or update first make a backup from which you can boot the computer. If you are installing an update, like 10.10.3 for example, always download and install the Combo Updater - OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Combo Update. Before you install any update or upgrade over an existing system you should do this:Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

  • Black screen after login while on battery with graphics switching enabled

Getting a black screen after entering my password while logging into my account while on battery with graphics switching enabled. Everything is up and running, I just can't see it.
I can log into the guest account on battery
I can log into my account while plugged into power
I can log into my account on battery if graphics switching is disabled
I believe something that is starting up in my account is causing the system to switch from integrated to discrete graphics on login, and that switch isn't working correctly on battery power.
As a work around for now, I can run with graphics switching disabled, but I'd like to solve this so I get longer battery life.
    MacBook Pro Retina 15"
    Mountain Lion
    All updates applied

I had the same issue and managed to reslove it.
    Shut down your machine.
Power it back on while holding the 'shift' key (left or right, doesn't matter)
You will see a greay progress bar go across the screen while you boot in to 'safe boot'
Once booted, login, and go to Energy Saver and turn on 'Automatic Graphics Switching'.
Reboot back in to normal mode, and you should be able to log back in and see again.
I did this without being plugged into AC power.
    Hope it helps!
    Cheers!

Can you please try generating and re-inserting the FB code on your page. The FB Likebox at the above link doesn't load for me from any of the mobile devices nor through a desktop. You can get the code here.
    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box/
I was referring to the following Facebook Page URL that you are currently pulling the Streams and Likes for - http://www.facebook.com/phillyweddingdj which appears to be invalid. If you generate the code for it at the above mentioned plugin page, the preview doesn't generate. Visiting this link takes you to FB homepage instead.
This is how the Likebox code should look like with minimum customization that you need to insert through Object -> Insert HTML option, notice the highlighted part that needs to be modified with a valid FB Page URL:
    <div id="fb-root"></div>
    <script>(function(d, s, id) {
    var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];

  • A lot of users with white screen after lcd replacement!

    Hello!
So i have a macbook air with a broken hinge.. replaced the screen assembly as in the guide on ifixit. All ok, but after replacement the screen is white with light vertical stripes. Now i have done some research and found out there are a lot of users with the exact same problem but none with a solution.
I think the reason why the screen turns white (most of the times) is because of the lcd modelnr en most importantly versionNr! The lcd model of the macbook air original is: B133EW03 but there are 4 versions of this screen: 0,1,2 and 3 respectively. In this link (page 3)http://www.ttsystem.ru/data/B133EW03_V1_Others_0204.pdf you see V1 is an upgrade of V0, in the way that the EDID codes have changes and so the OS has to send different codes to the lcd for it to 'understand'. I couldn't find the exact changes in V2 and V3 but i'm guessing it could be similar.
So my question is could this be possible?? is it possible or does anyone know you need the exact same lcd screen (model en version) when you replace your lcd screen?
Another very strange thing is that my macbook air shows some discrepancies:
The bottom case of my macbook air says A1304 and the serialNr off course. But the motherboard shows the A1237 model..Step 14! (In this ifixit guide http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing-MacBook-Air-Models-A1237-and-A1304-Displa y-Assembly/855/1
Also OSX gives me the data:
    MacbookAir 1,1
    1,8ghz core 2 duo 64gb ssd (which isn't a a1304 model..)
    but the same SerialNr!
When i check the specs online using the serialNr i can see it's made in week 50 of 2008.. in my opinion it's impossible it's a a1237, because apple introduced the a1304 in october 2008..

I had the same problem with the LCD after replacing hinges and could not figure this out.
To solve the issue, I bought another A1237 of eBay that apparently had no HD/SSD, but it arrived with a swollen battery.  I removed the bad battery and replaced and moved SSD over and "Voila"...it amazingly light up...........

    Hello Curzie,
It sounds like you are not able to access your iTunes library from your 2nd generation Apple TV through Home Sharing.  I found an article with some steps you can take to troubleshoot Home Sharing (you can skip any of the steps you have already taken or the steps that reference iOS devices):

  • Black screen after waking from sleep mode - Compaq Presario CQ5110F

My mother's computer has been having the problem listed in the subject -- after waking from sleep mode, the monitor just stays black, and won't come back. After trying everything I could find online, I eventually found the bios update which claims to fix the exact issue. The problem is that I guess my mother had opted to upgrade to Windows 7, while the bios update seems to only work for Windows Vista, as I get the following error message: "Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update. Update has been canceleld. (9998)." I've tried running the update in Vista compatibility mode, with no luck. I've tried using a different monitor, I've updated all the drivers, Windows Updates are all current, I've cleared CMOS. Any idea on how to fix this? It's very recent; only for about the past 2 weeks has this been happening, while we've had the computer for over 3 years. It's quite a waste of energy to keep it on all day.

    Hello liltwix,
When taking your computer out of safe mode the screen just remains black, is that correct? I will try to help you with this issue.
I understand you upgraded from Vista to 7, was that when the issue started or has the computer had windows 7 installed for some time before this problem started?
Please respond back at your earliest convenience.

  • MBP 17" garbled screen after waking from sleep

Occasionally, when the computer wakes from sleep, the screen is garbled like on the picture at http://www.geocities.com/chv74/IMG_6416.JPG. It makes no difference wheather the computer was put into sleep by closing the lid or any other method. I can type in my password and continue, but the screen is still garbled, the desktop is shown, but also garbled. The only method to correct the situation is to close the lid, let is sleep again and then wake the computer again. Ot, restart the whole thing by turning it off (5 seconds power-button). Sometimes it will not occur for a few weeks. It occurred throughout the updates 10.4.6 up to and including 10.4.10.
I just want to know if others have experienced the same or not.

So, I took my MBP to my Apple store where I bought it and showed the picture. They said it is not supposed to happen and I should reset the NVRAM, but that didn't help. So, now they replaced the motherboard and the problem is fixed, but my bluetooth doesn't work anymore, so my laptop is still in the shop. So, I can't say that it is completely over.
Another thing. I took it back first to have my screen fixed. It looked like there was dust behind the screen! I've seen someone post something about that also. At first it was just at one place, but in one week it turned up throughout the entire screen. So, I had the screen replaced. Now, there is one dead pixel right in the middle. Very irritating. What's up with these screens? Can they not give you a pixel-perfect screen in such an expensive notebook?! My last screen had three dead pixels (not at annoying places though)!
So, perhaps, y'all should take a picture too and show it to a tech guy at your Apple store.

  • Problems with wifi network after waking from sleep

I have recently started using a new wifi network and have had some problems connecting to it. When i first tried to connect it gave a message that said "An error occured while trying to join". After some trial and error, I found that I could connect by going to network preferences, clicking "Assist me...", then "Diagnositcs...", clicking the AirPort dot then continue, then clicking on the network name and continue, then it prompts for a password, but there isnt one so i just pushed continue and all of a sudden it connected. I figured it was functional now, but after waking it from sleep mode, the error message popped back up. The only way I know to connect is through that annoying diagnostics path... What is the Problem, is it the computer or the router or the settings on the admin computer? (by the way, I don't know what kind of router it is, but its definantly not an apple airport)

Sorry to drag this back up, but I may have found the source of the problem, I just need the solution. When I first created settings for the network, it automatically "detected" that the security was WPA2 Enterprise, and knowing there was no password, I just pushed join and it saved it that way. When I go through diagnositics as described before, it lists WEP as the encryption. I had a friend with almost the same problem, but in tiger. They were able to fix it by changing the encryption on the login screen that comes up when you click on the network name from the menu bar. But that screen no longer exists in Leopard, it only goes by previous settings. How do I change the encryption in settings, I'm sure it will fix the problem...

    007India,
You are wise to do research in advance of any major purchase.   Regardless of manufacturer , be it Lenovo, Acer, Dell, or HP, people tend to post their problems to the internet rather than their successes.  How many people take time to post everyday saying "everything is going great!" ?
Yes, there has been a lot of discussion about blue screen issues.  Some caused by turbo memory drivers, and if you check the forum there are updates and fixes for that.  Some could be OS related, and some may relate to specific drivers.
Some of your broad assertions, like being forced to use only a single Dimm, are perhaps a bit over generalized.  The issue you are referencing is related only to the T61P model, and there is no limitation to only using one memory module.  Some customers have discussed lockups while gaming in 3D games with dual dimms, but service has been able to resolve these when noted.  We are finalizing our investigation on this issue and resulting resolution.  There are no similar issues with rest of the T series, or any X or R series systems.
The choice of whether to apply updates is certainly up to the individual.
Yes, there are stories posted about customer service, but I would suggest that you count them, and consider them against the hundreds of thousands of customers WW.   Again, people tend to post about the exceptions or the problems rather than saying everything is just fine.  We do work to resolve issues when they arise.
Once again, I think you are wise to thoroughly evaluate products you are interested in, and the companies that produce them ahead of making your purchase.   I hope you are pleased with whichever system you purchase.
    Best regards
