Putting a date in the file name of the PDF document would cause some problems, since we need to link to the files in a consistent way. But there is a date in the footer of each page other than the cover page.
Of course, the HTML version on the Web is always up to date. When talking with someone online, I always just include a link.

Can't update After Effects CC - Error U44M1P7

I've been trying for a few days to update After Effects CC and it keeps failing with code U44M1P7. Digging into the logs, it looks like the root error is:
"ERROR: DS015: Unable to read symlink target of source file "/Applications/Adobe After Effects CC 2014/Plug-ins/Effects/mochaAE/(Mocha Support)/mocha AE CC.app/Contents/MacOS/mediaioserver.app/Contents/CodeResources"(Seq 213)"
How can I fix this?

In Creative Cloud Desktop app click on "Learn more" option near by product name.
This will help us in order to isolate the problem.

We will be making the automatic update of the After Effects CC (12.2) update work for trial version users very soon.
For now, if you are using the trial version of After Effects, then you can only update as far as After Effects CC (12.1). You can use the manual download and installation of the After Effects CC (12.1) update to do this.

Cannot update After Effects CC

I have a problem updating After Effects CC.
The system show me
"You can’t use this version of the application “Adobe After Effects CC” with this version of OS X
You have “Adobe After Effects CC” 12.0"
I've tried to download and install the updated software - AfterEffectsTrial-12.0.1-mul-AdobeUpdate.dmg
but the system show me:
"Update Failed
Updates could not be applied
Please contact your Administrator if you wish to apply updates on your machine. Updates have been suppressed by the Administrator.
If the problem persist, contact customer support for further assistance."

Heed this part of the message that you pasted in your original post:
"Please contact your Administrator if you wish to apply updates on your machine. Updates have been suppressed by the Administrator."
Whoever distributed your software (your company, your school,...) chose to disable updates for this software package. You need to take this issue up with them and get them to enable updates. There's nothing that any of us can do to override that decison made by whoever in your organization chose to disable updates.

After Effects CC won't update

Hi,
After Effects CC won't update on both my computers.
Every time I try to install the AE CC update, the installer asks me to close AdobeCrashDaemon to continue.
After quiting AdobeCrashDaemon and checking Activity Monitor to make sure it's not running, the installer keeps asking me to close AdobeCrashDaemon.
I hope you can help me.

I checked the installation log file and found the error notice:
ERROR: DS015: Unable to read symlink target of source file "/Applications/Adobe After Effects CC/Adobe After Effects CC.app/Contents/Frameworks/mc_dec_amr.framework/mc_dec_amr"(Seq 4)
I opened the folder Applications/Adobe After Effects CC, and can't find the rest of the /After Effects CC.app/ etc. path inside it.
What would be the next step to solve this?

Rnmt have you removed and reinstalled the After Effects CC 2014? Available updates are automatically applied during the installation process. Media Encoder does not use updated After Effects files

Hi,
I am working on a project using the new After Effects CC and Media Encoder. In previous versions (CS6) if I updated a file in After Effects, saved it and brought it back into Media Encoder the new rendered file would be fine.
Now it seems that I have to quit Media Encoder in order to get the refreshed composition from After Effects into the render queue, otherwise it just re-renders whatever the last version was.
Any thoughts?

Nothing to fix because nothing is broken. The programs wil ltake what they need and not beyond that or more to the point, what their internal infrastructure allows them to use. Many encoding tasks require strict linear processing as do many effects in AE, which severely limits the ability to use multiple cores/ processors no matter what. Furthermore things like linear file access in clip based formats would furtehr compound the issue. And finally, naturally it matters a lot what's going on in your projects. If your footage loads slowly, move it to a faster disk. if it's compressed, uncompress/ convert it. If you use slow effects, substitute them with faster commercial third-party plug-ins. if you render to clips, redner to image sequences. The list for potential optimization could go on and on, but suffice it to say that none of this involves just pushing a magic button or checking a specific option. you need to learn these things and tweak them based on experience.

You have a version conflict with the mochaAE folder in there. Run the cleaner tool and start from scratch.

if that's an 'update not applicable error', you should probably uninstall, clean and reinstall per http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

How can I update After Effects CS6 to work with Mavericks?

I bought CS6 in September and now I have updated to Mavericks on my Mac. It says it won't run on Mavericks? Is there a new download? I don't want to move to Creative Cloud, I just want to keep my purchased version.

Hi,
It’s version 13.1.1 It’s a trial version.
I am updating it from the Creative cloud desktop application.
I have the photography subscription with Lightroom and Photoshop with Creative Cloud.
I was interested in trying out the video software and have trials of Premiere Pro as well as others. The CC desktop app alerted me to the AF update just as it does for the others I subscribe to plus the ones I am using as trials. I have not had any problems with the other apps (trial or not), only with AF.
