Updated and now can't text, etc

I apologize if this information is already somewhere on this forum but I've had a look around and was unable to locate the information that I was looking for. If you can point me in the right direction, please do so.
So, here is my problem. I finally got around to updating my Q10 (not the .537 update...the one previous...yes, I know...shame on me!) and now it is nothing more than a glorified flip phone. I can't sent text messages, some emails are delivered, others are not, bbm works sometimes, I can no longer send a photo via text message or bbm. It's been a few days and I've been poking around the interwebs looking for a solution but none have worked to any avail...or permanently anyway.
I backed up before the update (of course!) but then started having issues so I reset my phone to factory settings and then restored it to the back up. It worked ok for a day or so but now, again, I am carrying around a paperweight. I have tried holding down the volume keys, taking the battery out, etc and nothing seems to correct the problem. I am on the verge of switching to another phone after years of being a tried and true Blackberry user.

I recommend the app called Fire Chest Backup. You can download it free from BBWorld. Use that to backup calendar and contacts and then you can restore to the device.
Additionally, I highly recommend exporting them to a cloud account like Outlook.com. I recommend Outlook.com over GMail because it uses Exchange Active Sync. You don't have to use Outlook.com for email if you don't want to but use it to store your contacts and calendar. Then you don't have to worry about making backups or losing your PIM data. I use Outlook.com.

Try this repair, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1 delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, use Appcleaner from Mac Update to           do this, its freeware
2 restart the Mac;   Apple menu > restart
3 immediately after the start chime, press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
         let it fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4 when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and           click repair disc permissions
5 when complete, restart the Mac normally
6 install Keynote from the Mac App Store

Just downloaded the latest IOS update on my iPad and now can no longer access app's or attachments in my mail box.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

I figured it out....I had downloaded and deleted my photos. then I was able to upgrade...easy!

Took phone update and now can't turn down volume all the way?

I took the latest phone system software update, and now when I turn down the volume (using the volume button on the side) the lowest it will go is vibrate instead of silent. This is annoying, because I sometimes like to turn it all the way down in meetings or when I sleep at night, but it vibrates on incoming calls or corporate e-mail notifications.
Why did you guys do away with the fully-minimized volume choice?
The Motorola Droid (Droid 1, I suppose), under the original software load, allowed you to turn down volume (in some number of steps), down to Vibrate, and then finally all the way Off. The only sound it would make would be if you set an alarm clock.
With the new load, turning it down only goes to vibrate, and not silent.
The "Silent Mode" available when pressing the power button should be more appropriately named "Vibrate Mode." It appears that there is no longer a true "silent" mode under the Droid O/S.
I looked at a number of marketplace apps, but they all seem to be based on a timer setting, i.e. set a time frame that you don't want any sounds.
Why did Verizon (or is it Google?) have to break something that didn't need fixing?

It's a known issue and has been discussed numerous times. If you need quick access, you can get beautiful silent from the market for free which will allow you have a widget on your homescreen for silent mode.

Received an error during 10.4.11 Update and now can not boot

I downloaded the 10.4.11 update and tried to install it on my Macbook Pro that had 10.4.10 and there was an error during the update and it stopped. I closed the window and tried again and had the same result. Now, when I try to boot my computer, it gets to the screen with the progress bar for loading Mac OS, though the progress bar does not go anywhere and the desktop never loads.
At this point I am only really concerned with accessing some files on my mac. I placed the restore disk that came with my Macbook Pro into it and rebooted, though it went to the same progress bar screen.
1. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do?
2. Anyone have any advice for how I can just access my files?

If you have a backup on a separate drive, especially a bootable one, your files are there (backup is imperative with any computer system). If not...
If you buy an external firewire drive (and some USB drives), you can install Tiger on that drive from your regular installation DVD, then boot from that new, external drive. You should be able to mount your internal system drive and copy all of your important files to the new external drive. Applications won't generally copy successfully.

Now you have a consistent backup.
Get your original Tiger installation DVD and do an "archive and install" on your system disk. If it is successful, you will still have all of your data and most (not necessarily all) of your applications.
I just did this last night for my father in law. The "archive and install" actually failed probably due to a read error on the Tiger DVD installation disk. Fortunately, I have another one, and did an "update" install from that one. Many preferences were lost and some drivers evaporated (like Midi drivers for Logic Express), but generally, things worked well. His data was there, though I didn't trust it all
I then did all of the software updates, but NOT including 10.4.11 since that has caused some issue. I also had to reinstall iLife '08, but everything else worked.
I restored his iphoto and itunes libraries after doing all the updates from the backup I'd made earlier just to make sure everything was OK. It was.
He is now up and running without further problems.

Eureka, I found the problem with not being able to open itunes after last update. This evening received a prompting for an apple update for Quick time player. At first almost deleted it in my digust with apple since last update, but figured hey, could mess things up any worse, and so clicked yes. Apparently problem was with quick time which was also updated with last itunes update, as after that my itunes opened up. Appears to be lots of changes, but hey, can always learn them now that it is working.

Warning!! Do not update to OSX 10.7.4 Lion! I updated this afternoon and now none of my office suite works or my eye tv application. I am now in the process of using a backup to fix the problem. Well done Apple! I'd expect this from Microsoft not Apple.

Well I eventually fixed the problem! I downloaded a copy of Lion, then created a bootable disc. I then reinstalled Lion which took about 2 hours because there was some downloading going on which said 107 hours to start with then eventually whent down to 1.20 Minuts. But after the download the install started which took about another 50 mins.
Not sure what happened but all I can say is everything was working fine until I did the 10.7.4 update. I did try to do a repair on permissions via disc utility but there were no issues to repair. So that wasnt the problem. Not only could I not open Outlook or EyeTV but most of my Apps could not open. Im not convinced that Lion is all its cracked up to be. I dont think Ill be wasting my money on Mountain Lion when its released if there is going to be more problems like this one.

Updated and now can't access my movie extras.

I bought Twilight from the iTunes store a few months ago and LOVED the extras. I just upgraded to the new iTunes as you recommended and had a friend over last night that wanted to see the extras and I can't get to them with the new format. How can I access the extras again?

Found someone with a BOLD 9650 who had the same issue, with the same update. Here is a fix that I found worked well...and I am posting in part from that one so others will know.

Have recently had update and now can't delete songs or podcasts?

I recently downloaded the latest update from iTunes and since then have not been able to delete unwanted tracks or podcasts. I don't think I've changed any settings.

I have the same problem with the update (via Software Update). I am running OS 10.6.8 on a Mac Air and when I updated iTunes to 10.4, the Delete function in the menu is greyed out and I can't delete podcasts or music using the menus. I can, however, drag the podcast to the trash. Does anyone have the same problem or better yet a solution?

To resolve this error, I recommend completely removing and reinstalling iTunes and all of its related components using these steps:
Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

Nokia E5 email update and now can't read email

Hi, I downloaded the nokia email 3.21 update last night, and turned the phone off and on again as per instructions but now I can't read my emails (hotmail account) as they just come up a load of jumbled letters and symbols, anyone know how to fix this? Or at least if there is a way to get rid of the update?

HELP!! I udpated all my itunes etc., and can access my Mac App Store, but can no longer access my itunes purchases or account info. I don't get an error message. But, when I log into iTunes and see my apple ID at top right hand corner, but then go to purchase history and account info, it just keeps taking me back to log in block. I'm not getting an error message, but can't pull up anything, but my name.

Ok. Found something that said to shut down and hold the option, command, p, and r keys on restart. Held them down for a few restarts and everything automatically signed in and works. Woohoo!!!

I already did this but don't know where to go for an answer. Fire fox crashed and I updated and now can't open IM's or SMS's from down arrow in Compose box on email page.
