Updated contacts do not sync from Mac to iCloud
Updating or adding contacts in my Mac addressbook are not synced to the cloud. But if I make changes in my contacts on my iPhone or iPad, sync works perfectly and updates are reflected in my Mac addressbook. I'm running Lions on a MBP.
Any hints much appreciated.

First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

Notes and calendar data are syncing fine. Syncing between iPhone and iCloud on all 3 appears to work fine. I have toggled syncing through the control panel; did not help.
Go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out, choose Delete at all of the prompts, restart your Mac, then go back and sign back in. (This deletes the account and iCloud data from your Mac, but not from iCloud. Your data will reappear on your Mac when you sign back in.)

Contacts are not syncing from Mac to iPhone
iCloud Contacts are not syncing if created on my macbook. But if created on iOS they sync. Have no clue on this one.
It took me awhile to figure out what is actually happening here, even though it seems obvious now. Unfortunately I can find no way to do what I need.
On MacBook Pro Contacts, over on left page, at top left it says "All Contacts", under that "On my Mac", under that ""iCloud". I have figured out that "On My Mac" contacts are separate from "iCloud" contacts (seems obvious). The contacts in "iCould" are the only ones which sync with your iOS devices.
Unfortunately, when I add contacts through Mail (my usual procedure), they are only added to the "On My Mac" set. I can find no way to have them automatically add to the "iCloud" set of contacts instead of the "On My Mac" set. I cannot figure out how to get these contacts in the "On My Mac" set to sync to iCloud without some very fancy and complicated exporting, deleting, importing ALL contacts, and it is a lot easier just to type the contact info into a new card in the "iCloud" contact set.
Does anyone know of some setting to allow me to use iCloud exclusivly? That's why I want iCloud and Mac, to work together. -
Contacts do not sync from Mac Address Book to iPhone
When I add new contacts in my Mac Address Book or modify existing contacts and then do a sync (using iTunes), the changes do not appear on my iPhone 3GS. Everything else seems to update but not the contacts.
I have verified that I have sync contacts set, have tried unsetting and resetting it, tried removing all contacts from iPhone and redoing, tried replace contacts with those from computer, etc, etc. Still the same result - the old contacts on the iPhone.
This seems to be since the latest OS updates (Mac & iPhone). It used to work fine.

Finally back to you on this. The delay was because the proposed operations were beyond my comfort zone - and I was fearful of loosing my contacts and groups (critically important).
With more time available, I made an appointment with a "Genius" at the Apple Store (Paris Opera). He could not fix it but gave me the good advice to contact Mobile Me and set up a chat support session.
It took several hours but the chat support person guided me through the process of saving my data, and then trashing the files in the cache and library folders and a few others, and finally restoring things - group by group.
Part of the problem was also conflicts between the calendars on my two MacBook Pros, my iPhone, and MobilMe.
Long and complicated but things are now working.

Apparantly it is, On My Mac contacts don't appear in iCloud, anywhere.
Put all your contacts on all of your devices in iCloud (assuming that's where you want them to be)
Go to www.icloud.com, login and see what you actually have in the account. -
Selected iTunes Playlists Do Not Sync from Mac to iPhone
I've seen similar postings lately but no responses. I've recently updated iTunes by removing duplicate playlists that inexplicably appeared after buying iTunes Match. Had many problems syncing playlists with Match turned on, so I've shut that off in both iTunes and on my iPhone 5s. Repeated a number of steps that got my playlists on other devices (mini and Air) but to no avail. Anyone with a similar issue if you've found a workaround/solution I'd appreciate it.

Directions do not sync from Mac to iPhone
I am trying to get the "send to iphone" feature working with Apple Maps on the Mac.
MacBook Pro - Mavericks OS
iPhone 5 - iOS 7
1. Open maps on Mac.
2. Request my directions.
3. Click the Share button.
4. Select my iphone from the list.
5. See the Animations.
6. Never get the notifications in iOS Maps on my phone.
All the other iCloud functions work like, shared tabs, notes, calendar, email and keychain. Just not push of my driving directions.

That's where you're going wrong. Firstly the syncing method that MobileMe used, which places the icon in the menu bar, is quite different from the iCloud method and is irrelevant. Secondly, you're confusing the Time Machine icon with it.
On this Mac you need to set up in System Preferences>iCloud in the same way, then the syncing is automatic. In iCal on both machines you should see in the Calendar list your calendars listed unrer 'iCloud', and your calendars should be visible at http://icloud.com (and choose Calendar in the welcome screen).
If they aren't visible online, go to http://me.com/calendar - you should not be able to see them there. If you can, you haven't migrated. -
Address book not syncing from mac to iphone
Even though at one time my Macbook Pro was syncing fine with iphone. Now there seems to be a problem with no changes being made.

DonOkay, so we're moving forward now. no problem. while waiting for a response I noticed that both NUMBERS and PAGES sync-ed to the iCloud on iphone5. However, I am still waiting for the iPad to sync. post IOS8. Should I go get a cup of coffee or is there a way to expedite the sync process?

My contacts do not sync from my iphone over iCloud to my mac.
Sorry if this a repeat but I've searched and can not find an answer. I have an iphone and a mac book pro both os5 with the cloud set up to sync everything. When I snap a picture with my iphone it shows up on my mac no problem. However, when I add a new contact to my iphone, I can access the updated contact list from icloud.com on my mac, but the contact does not show up on my mac's contact list. I was under the impression it should? Again, I have sync contacts checked on both. Please advise. Thank you.
hi randers4 .... this might be the solution. Question, what do you mean by "if you have any contacts or calendar events on your iPhone or iPad that are not on icloud.com, add them there." Where is "there" and how do I get to "there".
Now,... I do have contacts and calendar that are on the iPhone but was not signed on to the cloud. Do have an ID and PW. So I logged onto the cloud .....that turn on the cloud on the iPhone and did a backup. Is that what you mean when you say add "them there" on the iphone? -
Some contacts not syncing from mac to BB
I have the Bold 9700. Prior to this I had an iPhone and kept all my contacts synced on my mac in Address Book. Now that I'm trying to use BB, the BlackBerry Desktop Software syncs *some* of my contacts, but not all of them. The contacts that are missing are actually there, but there's no information on them other than their names (so no phone number or any other info).
I've been trying to resolve this issue for the past 2 weeks but I can't find a solution. I was going to buy a new BB in March for my birthday because I actually preferred it over iPhone, but the way things are going I doubt that'll be happeningNobody?

Not purchased PDFs not syncing from mac ibooks to iPhone ibboks

I have Macbook Air with Recently updated mavericks OSX. I have lots of PDF files on my mac (usually e-tickets of airlines) which i drag and drop to ibooks for mac. Now they are not syncing to ibooks for my iphone 5, iOS 7.0.3. The ibooks icloud syncing is ON for both the devices but i am not able to sync such PDFs to and from from and to mac and iphone. Please help.

VikasI tried that. It does not work for me. I get a few books to appear from iTunes into iBooks. Getting them into iBooks on the Mac has never been the problem There are lots of way to do that. The problem is, they STILL not not sync with my iPad. And now they are gone from iTunes so i am not sure what is going to happen the next time I try to sync the iPad with iTunes. Luckily I have a Time Capsule backup so I can restore if I have to.
I guess the bottom line, based on several other threads, is the only solution is to kill iBooks, move it to an obscure corner of your Launch Pad (since you can't totally delete it) and go buy an third party app that will work. Apple has release several updates to Mavericks, and so far there is nothing on the horizon about restoring any of the sync ability that Mavericks took away - iTunes sync wirelessly with the iPad and iPhone, or, like here, iBooks syncing across Apple platforms. -

what do you mean they came to your desktop from an old phone, was the music not on your computer? have you added them to the itunes library? selected sync music?

What do I do about contacts and groups not synced from iPhone to iCloud?
I've been syncing my contacts with my Mac (Snow Leopard, not Lion) via iTunes for years now. It's worked well enough, but I don't sync with my Mac that often (typically weeks between syncs), so I've worried a little bit about losing data entered on my iPhone before it gets on my Mac.
Before: Mac <-iTunes contacts sync-> iPhone
A week or so ago I backed up contacts, calendars and my whole iPhone (and my Mac) then upgraded my iPhone to iOS 5. It took a while (hours) but seemed to work.
Then I set up iCloud contact syncing.
What I intended: Mac <-iTunes contacts sync-> iPhone <-iCloud contacts sync-> iCloud
After setting up iCloud contact sync, the trouble began.
I looked at my iPhone contacts and saw that instead of the half dozen groups they were organized into before, they were all in one iCloud group. I found I could make new groups and assign contacts to them on iCloud and they'd sync, but I'm not interested in redoing work organizing hundreds of contacts that iOS and iCloud lost for me.
Shortly I discovered that some contacts were just missing. Poof. Gone after the iCloud sync.
I've hesitated before syncing with my Mac again. I don't want to have the messed up groups and the deleted contacts propogate back to my Mac.
I've also hesitated because I don't see a way to disable iTunes contact syncing before actually plugging in my iPhone — the options for managing what gets synced only seem to appear when the iPhone is connected, and sync starts automatically.
Suggestions for how to proceed?

In the device’s Summary pane, you can set iTunes to automatically sync your device when it’s attached to your computer. To temporarily override this setting, hold down Command and Option (Mac) or Shift and Control (PC) until you see your iPhone appear in the sidebar.
I'm still looking for suggestions about how to proceed to get contacts with groups synced.
