Nobody can magically update the already created files.
I’m not defending the release of the viewer with those bugs. In fact, it caused me a world of headaches, but I’m happy to see Adobe did the right thing and fixed them.

  • Update App for Content Viewer?

    So today I return from vacation and try to view my folio on the iPad and now I get a message once again that the issue is available for download but requires a newer version of the Adobe Content Viewer app.
    What's the deal with this? I have the most updated version 1.8.0 and I'm using the most updated Folio Producer tools 1.1 both of which I was using all last week and didn't have a problem viewing my work on the iPad.
    It's not giving me the option to update my Content Viewer via the iTunes Store.
    Anyone else having this problem?

    I haven't seen any issues downloading my content as of yet.  Are you using producer tools 1.1 or 1.1.1?

  • Need to update Adobe Content Viewer for iPad?

    The adobe content viewer app on my ipad is saying I need to update my app to a newer version to view my folios.  However, there is not a newer version of the adobe content viewer available in the app store, only the one released February 21, 2012, which I already have installed. 

    Yes, I downloaded the required updates for InDesign today, but the app was created yesterday before these updates were available.  What is the fix for this?  Is there going to be an updated Content Viewer released any time soon?

    My client is in mainland china and our company is located in other country. We have to publish multi-issue magazine in  china.
    We had sent all the documents including GAPP license to a Chinese Agent in mainland china and he confirmed everything was done to publish.(Our chinese client bought professional DPS License in china)
    But until now my client could not see anything in the Content Viewer. We tried so many different ways - we uploaded folio via chinese VPN, My client in china uploaded other folio directly in the mainland.. - and nothing works. (We-in the other country-
    can see all the folios)
    As far as I know if publishing in china become possible, I could see 'china distribution menu and checkbox' in the account administration menu in the DPS Administration site. But there is no such a menu in the administration menu.
    So I think the chinese agent does not make things fully prepared.
    But in the last meeting, the agent insisted that our client will not see any folio on the Content Viewer because they only connect to a server outside china, but if we make developer-distribution app and send the app to the client then our client can see all the folios because the developer app connect to the server in china.
    We already know that the server for chinese distribution in separated and located in china. Because I had read the explanation in china-contributor document, I suppose that the developer-app thing would not work.
    Because my client are in some vacation, we can not contact them for a while.
    So I want to know which action we have to do. 1 or 2 ?
    1. Just wait until the vacation is over, request UDID of the client and make a developer app. And send it to the client.
    2. Call the agent now and tell them something was not fully prepared, so they need to check the process again.

  • HT4743 why are TV series not available on Itunes when they are over 2 years old and are available with Netfox & Lovefilms, E,G The Americans series 1 but not 2 or 3, Revenge series 1 & 2 but not 3. can anyone help were I can download them please

    It is up to the content owner as to when, and if, specific content is available on itunes (or any outlet for that matter). Very often a network or production compnat willhave exclusive deals with streaming outlets for a period of time before a seaon of a series is available elsewhere.
    I can't speak to most of the shows you reference, but in the case of The Americans, there has only been one season so far. Season two isn't schedule for broadcast until February of next year.

  • Adobe Content Viewer app and .folio file

    I created and published a .folio file on my Web server.
    My boss downloaded the free Adobe Content Viewer app from iTunes for his iPad. When he tries to open the .folio file from his home screen it goes online to a browser and just shows a grey screen with an icon for the .folio file, its file size and nothing happens.
    Am I missing something? The same .folio file works fine on my desktop version of Adobe Content Viewer. How do I get it to work in his app?

    1. Create my .folio file.
    2. Host on my free Acrobat.com account.
    3. Get viewer to get their own free Acrobat.com account and share doc URL with them.
    4. They download file and view in the free Adobe Content viewer app for iPad.
    Would check, but I don't have access to an iPad with live internet connection (yet).

    The Content Viewer update just landed on the App Store.

    And you can download it here or just let iTunes fetch it for you.
    And before this thread starts to look like a Justin Bieber fan page,
    I'll also note that I'm curious about the announced Builder update.
    Hopefully this pack of new tools, panels, and viewers will not just
    offer lots of new features, bu also solve many issues and errors.

  • Folio producer tools update required to use folio builder but content viewer app not available

    Hi,
    I have a problem with DPS Folio Producer tools.
    We are unable to use Folio Builder to update our iPad presentation to the cloud because we keep getting this message: An update is required to use Folio Builder. Please click here to download Folio Producer Tools.
    We have previously done this only to discover that the new version of Folio Producer Tools is incompatible with the Content Viewer and the new Content Viewer app is not yet approved, or available from Apple.
    So we have done a rollback to a previous version of the Folio Producer Tools which worked for a few hours, but is now prompting for the update again - but as explained above we cannot download the update until the Content Viewer app is available.
    HELPPPPPPP!!!

    This is the DPS model.
    When a company thinks first about monetizing solutions instead of making it an extra option.
    You are not free anymore to use the tools you want, you must follow Adobe's decisions to update online apps.
    Online apps are everything but good.
    You will have to wait until the Viewer gets approved by Apple.
    Dear Adobe: do you see how many people come here because they don't understand how your technical model works?

    Hi, I've created a number of folios which are currently being shared with my clients via Content Viewer. The folios regularly show an "update available" message even when I've not made any update. Can anyone tell me why this happens?

    Yes, this is a fully paid up account and we are using the Adobe content viewer from the app store. No we do not use any 3rd party software. All folios are created in in-design and uploaded via the folio builder panel within in-design. As far as I'm aware this has happened since we started using DPS about a year ago. We are not hitting the update folio button within in-design, therefore they should not be saying update available.
    Attached is a screen shot showing the online folio builder panel today, as you can see all publication dates are today. Should we be locking these folios?
    I should also mention when we open in-design all of the folios we have published are still within the folio builder panel (see second screen shot) and being shared.

    To Dps Users,
    Having downloaded the new adobe content viewer 2.3.1 through itunes and installed it onto my ipad. I now find I cannot update the desktop version this still remains at 2.3.0
    anyone any advise how to get the most current version onto my laptop.

  • Adobe Content Viewer v22 for Android - folio update issue

    Yesterday I updated our Xoom to Android 4.1.1 and updated the Adobe Content Viewer to v22.  Both we and a client have had issues with not seeing the "Update Available" message for folios that are been updated.  The "Updating Library..." message flashes briefly at the top of the viewer in library mode, however nothing changes.  It's only after killing the app and restarting that it takes its time while checking the library for updates and finds them.  Has anyone else had this issue?  The iPad rendition of the same folio has been showing update messages in the usual, almost instantaneous, way.
    Has anyone else had difficulty with updating folios in the Android v22 Adobe Content Viewer?  In the past couple of versions I've noticed some strangeness with the Sign In/ Sign Out part of the library where it seems like the text tells you you're signed in, but sometimes you have to sign out and sign back in to get updates.  Sometimes you could go back to the home screen and then go back into the app and it would trigger a check for updates as well, however that trick doesn't seem to be working anymore.

    Thank you for the reply Himanshu.  Evidently the problem is much worse than I thought because previously created apps don't even open anymore!
    None of the apps we have published to the Android app store are getting past the splash screen.  The library flashes briefly on some of them before the app crashes.  The error message it gives is "Unfortunately, ____ has stopped."  This is a big problem!!  Will updating the apps to v22 solve this issue?  When will Adobe have this major problem fixed?
    I'm flashing back to June of last year when reliability of basic functionality (like apps opening and folios being downloadable/viewable) was still unpredictable.  You Adobe guys and gals have got to figure out how to make the DPS system dependable.  I understand this is an operating system conflict, but surely you knew this update was coming and could test how well your software would hold up to the changes.  This isn't a barely used minor feature that isn't working, this is something that makes users uninstall the app and lessens their opinion of the company that released it.  Please make this your top priority and get it fixed today.  We and our customers are paying for a much higher level of service than this.

    If you live in a country where the feature is not available, you will not be able to rent movies. Not all iTunez content is available worldwide.

    Sorry, no idea. We're all just fellow users here and have no insight into the processes within the iTunes Store, and you'll never get a response from Apple in these forums.
    Speaking strictly for me (I'm the only one I can speak for), I'm not sure how Bob Levine would know that Apple is sitting on an update unless he works for Adobe (as he may, though I would think his profile there would say so). But his statement that the version of Adobe Content Viewer is the "original version" is incorrect, if that's what he really meant to say. The version in the iTunes Store is by no means the original, it's up to 1.7.0, and was last updated on May 16th of this year. There may indeed be a new version awaiting approval, though; I have no way of knowing. If there is, though, it would not seem that Apple has been sitting on it for all that long.
