Updated Education version Full Commercial

I need to update my serial number from Education version to
Full version.
Thanks for your help.

Hey Shelbie, the really good news is, when you do graduate and want to use the programs for true commercial work, then Adobe does give you a great deal to upgrade to the full commercial version from your student version.  I upgraded from my student version of Web Standard CS3 to Web Premium CS4 for $559 compared to having to pay $1499 for it.  It is a huge savings compared to what someone off the street has to pay.

Is the education version of dreamweaver exactly the same as the full version? (Only you just can't use the education version for commercial purposes)

Yep, that's pretty much it.  And when the next version arrives you can upgrade an educational version to a full version by purchasing an upgrade license at retail cost.
Just keep in mind this is true for the suite as well so if you feel you may have a need for them, buy them.  However, when upgrading you can go from individual->individual or individual->suite, or suite->suite, but not suite->individual.  And Adobe's policy for upgrades requires you upgrade once every 3 versions (ie: CS5 is the last chance for CS2 users to upgrade before they have to purchase a full license again).

  • Policy regarding updating CS2 Design Premium Education Version to full version of CS4

I currently have the education version of CS2 Design Premium, and would like to upgrade to the full version of CS4 Design Premium. Am I eligible? And at what price?

Buko, It is faster, but not enough for me to invest in the equipment ($300.+) & then pay the $60-$120. @ month for 2 years! ( the $120. gets ya about what speed a midrange phone line DSL offers at $25. a month) oh well AT&T keeps saying "any day now, any day" HA!
Neil, should anything created in the CS4 version be saved (i imagine) in a CS2 format so it can be opened If I decide or can't afford to update before trial runs out and if so can ya make a guess if I would be able to edit anything at all? (way not computer savvy!!) CS2/Studio8 is my first foray into digital design!
Thanks Again my friends, I am continuing to be amazed at what I can & do learn on these forums! Les
PS Thanks also to Adobe for these forums

  • Using education version for professional/commercial purposes

Can anyone help me out with this? I've gone through Adobe customer support, in several different manners, and get several different answers to this.I've also found different answers on the forums too.
I am currently a student and using an education version of Web PremiumCS4, purchased through Adobe, with a valid student ID. I am getting interest in freelance work and would like to eventually use my programs for professional uses. However, from what I understand, that would currently go against the educational product license agreement.
To me, it would make sense that a student using the product to learn how to become a professional, using the product for their career choice, would eventually want to use their same copy for commercial reasons. So far, I've been told I have to purchase the full version with the commercial license in order to be able to use it without legal concern. Why in the world would I purchase the product all over again when the copy I have is exactly the same, just the legal agreements are different?? Ive also been told that I can trade in my educational product, receive credit for the price I paid and pay the remaining difference to buy the same program, just with a commercial license.
    Clarity please!
    Thanks,
    Shelbie

  • Price in Euro for an update from LR5.6 educational version to LR6 educational version?

Does somebody knows the price in Euro for an update from LR5.6 educational version to LR6 educational version? Thanks and Regards

All right. I've managed to get my iPad running again with IOS 7 now.
As an additional tip for anyone who might need the intel : I had to click on "restore" in iTunes 3 times to get it done. First time to launch the process, then a second time after a 75 min download, and a third time after whatever task iTunes/iPad had just finished doing... All this without any prompt. I mean iTunes did not give me any clue what to do next. It just stopped doing anything each time.
Thanks again Ralp for the password tip : I have skipped everything as advised.
Let's hope using this new OS won't be as painfull as installing it.
    Take-away:
It is not possible to upgrade an iPad 2 from IOS 5.1.1 to IOS 6.x. All the web is chatting about the impossibility to downgrade to IOS 6, yeah, yeah... It's impossible to upgrade too.
Attempting to do such an upgrade from iTunes, using shift+restore with a genuine ipsw file downloaded from Apple servers will make your iPad unusable (locked in "recovery mode"), with no other choice but to upgrade to IOS 7.
There's no early warning from iTunes about all that. It starts the upgrade process then aborts it, leaving the iPad gets locked into "recovery mode". Period.

  • Can't update iphone version/backup bc "HD full"

I haven't been able to update my iphone to new software version as an error message keeps displaying saying that hard drive is full and can't contain backup memory quota  necessary. Since that came up I bought an external 500 GB hard drive that is only being used for this (i also changed destination drive under Prefs, then media folder) and iTunes will still not complete backup or update my version with same error message. Help please! Thanks!

Nevermind...I just took all the apps and music off my iphone and it updated real quick. Pain in the butt but it worked.

  • Upgrade from CS2 Education to CS5 Full Commercial?

    Hello,
I'm new to this forum. I have a question regarding upgrading to CS5. I don't think there's been another question on this specific question I have. If there is, sorry for posting it again.
Basically, I have a copy of the CS2 Design Premium Education version. Now I would like to upgrade it to the CS5 Design Premium Commercial version. I didn't need to work from home previously, so never really needed the commercial licence for my laptop. But now it's time to get one so I can work anywhere.
I know there is an upgrade from CS2 to CS5 version that I can purchase but it doesn't tell me if it can be used on the Education version too.
Can anyone confirm that the upgrade does work on an Education version too?
    Thanks heaps.
    Leanne

You brought up a few issues here.
    (1) If you bought an upgrade that you cannot use, please call Adobe Customer Support (via phone) and see what can be done to let you return the software. There should not be any problem if this is within 30 days of purchase, but even if not, they should be supportive. If the first agent you speak to can't assist, ask for their supervisor.
    (2) The copy of CS3 that was installed on your Mac by your employer is likely a volume license which cannot be upgraded via a standard upgrade license. Note that if your employer installed the software using their volume serial number, that software license belongs to your employer and not you personally. It that employer is in fact your ex-employer, you no longer have legal rights to use that software which was licensed to your ex-employer. (Note that purchasers of volume licenses cannot unbundle a volume license by either giving away copies such as to former employees or sell such copies!)

  • I just installed Mac OS Mavericks, and now my Creative Suite Premium won't work.  I have an education version.  Where do I go to update the software to be compatible with Mavericks?

Does anyone know how I can update my Creative Suite Premium (Education version) to work with OS Mavericks?

You need to tell us what Creative Suite version you're using for us to help you.
Also, did you try to migrate your copy from one computer to another?

  • How to Install Commercial Version After Accidentally Installing Educational Version?

I have licenses for both FlexBuilder 3 Educational and the regular commercial version. I accidentally ran the educational installer on a PC where I meant to run the commercial installer. I've uninstalled the educational version and reinstalled the regular version but when I start FlexBuilder it still says Educational. The educational version is missing some features that I need from the commercial version. How can I get the installation configured to work as a commercial version?
    David Salahi

    Hi Paul,
Thanks for the tip! I hadn't yet entered my educational license but the splash screen screen said "Educational" at startup anyway. So I thought that the educational version must have been built into the installer. But, after entering my regular FlashBuilder Pro key it switched over.
    Thanks!

  • Retail vs Educational version

OK guys, my free trial is almost up, and despite my inadequate hardware I definately am going to buy Aperture ( new MBP coming soon!). I have the opportunity to purchase an educational version due to family at university but...I think I read that the ed version does not benefit from free upgrades. Is this true or did I just imagine it? Is the ed version identical in every way to the retail?

    MacMini 1.5 1GBRAM, 12" PB 1.33   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

You are using the word "upgrades" where you should be
    using the word "updates."
All software Apple makes is allowed free UPDATES, but
the educational version of Aperture does not permit
    discounted UPGRADES.
That being said, buying TWO versions at the
educational discount comes to the same amount as
buying one full version. A full version currently
costs $300 USD. Upgrades tend to run around 50% the
cost of the full version, if not a bit less or more,
so for argument's sake lets say an upgrade to 2.0
will cost $150 USD. By that math, Aperture 2.0 will
cost a total of $450 USD. Or, you could buy the
educational for $150 USD, and then get 2.0
educational for $150 USD and spend a total of $300
USD for the same exact software.
    Food for thought...
You are indeed correct about our use of update vs upgrade, and while I feel we are all sure of the meanings it seems Apple themselves are not I quote from their Aperture web-site:
"Free Aperture 1.5 Update: All current owners of Aperture will automatically receive the free upgrade to Aperture 1.5 via Software Update." Oh well.
On the maths side you are not correct however for the UK. As always we get to pay more for the same in the UK, and whilst your 2 for 1 analogy is I'm sure correct for you guys Stateside, in the UK the retail version costs £219, however the Academic version costs £ 138.65, or about 63% of the retail version. Clearly 2 copies of the Academic version in the UK is not such a good deal.
Looks like a retail version for me!
    Thanks

  • CS2 Pro to CS2 educational version

I am having problems opening a CS2 file from work to my CS2 educational version at home. I didn't think it mattered but I keep getting an error message saying I need some plug-ins that my version does not have. The LILO.APLN and CELLSTYLES.RPLN. I continue then it just says I can't open it and says I need to update all plug-ins or upgrade to latest version. Why can't I open a CS2 professional on a CS2 Educational version? I there a workaround? HELP!!!!

    I'll second Peter's observation. You're not using CS2 at work. You're using CS3.
There's NO DIFFERENCE in the software between education and commercial version. They are IDENTICAL.

  • Another academic of full commercial?

So two years ago I bought the Academic Studio 1 not knowing that it wasn't upgradable. Now I'm in a jam as far as what I should do to go to Studio 2. I got the SN from a friend of mine who used to be an editor but is now a teacher, so I was going to get the $700 Full commercial upgrade, but I stopped by my college campus Apple Store and looked at what they had as far as Studio 2 went. They obviously only have the academic version, but for only $150!! I'm only a sophomore, so I've still got some time before going totally commercial and leaving education behind, so do you think I should go for the $150 Education or the $700 Commercial? The only qualm that's keeping me from going out right now and getting the Education Studio is the "upgrade from any FCP version to Studio 2" offer. If when studio 3 comes out in most likely 2009 and they don't have that same upgrade from FCP offer, I'm then going to need to plop down the full $1300 or whatever it will be at that time instead of just the $700. Another possible point of contention is that my friend's dad mentioned in passing something about getting his copy from someone else, and while that was many years ago, I want to make sure I'm fully legit here and not illegally using someone else's old SN to obtain an upgrade.
What's you all's professional opinions on what I should get?
    Thanks,
    -Brian

The bottom of english page 1 of 3 in the Final Cut Studio 2 SLA states
    3. Transfer. You may not rent, lease, lend or sublicense the Apple Software. You may, however, make a one-time permanent transfer of all of your
license rights to the Apple Software to another party, provided that: (a) the transfer must include all of the Apple Software, including all its component
parts, original media, printed materials and this License; (b) you do not retain any copies of the Apple Software, full or partial, including copies stored on
a computer or other storage device; and (c) the party receiving the Apple Software reads and agrees to accept the terms and conditions of this License.
All components of the Apple Software are provided as part of a bundle and may not be separated from the bundle and distributed as standalone
    applications.
That serial number your buddy gave you, if you don't have the original full-feautre disks, it's not your software! All you have right now is a stolen serial number. Get the academic for now and plop down $1300 or whatever for the full version when you can afford it.
If you want to stay legit it's the way to go.

  • I restarted my Firefox this morning and it automatically updated to version 9.0.1. Since that update, I am unable to open Firefox - it is giving no response.

I restarted my Firefox this morning and it automatically updated to version 9.0.1. Since that update, I am unable to open Firefox. When I try to open it (and this is on a Mac), it does not respond and freezes with a white screen, the tab says "connecting...," and there are no bookmarks or anything showing on the browser. It does not respond at all - I cannot even click into the navigation to change any of the preferences. Please, someone help! Not having Firefox is killing me!

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
