Updated event in iCal - but responses from invitees deleted the event
I recently updated an event in iCal (changed the date). The updated event was sent to invitees. Unfortunately, when invitees responded, I got responses back in "Notifications" that the event had been canceled. I hadn't actually canceled the event - just moved it to the new date.
When I clicked on "Ok" in the Notifications (to try and clear out notifications on my iCal), it ACTUALLY canceled the event and sent out the cancellation notice to all of the invitees.
I've experienced this behavior several times - I update the event, but get responses back in Notifications that the event has been canceled. When I actually "accept"/"Ok" the Notification, it then cancels the event and sends out a cancellation notification.
Is this expected behavior? Is there a workaround? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Embarassed at how easy this is. Type in the name under Location, and it links immediately to the person's address from Contacts.

I use my calendar to keep track of things and sometimes I like to add past events so they are on my calendar. Starting today, iCal hasn't been letting me do that and it's very frustrating!
Hi! I was having the same problem too- was entering an event from 2 months ago but it would then disappear. I tried entering several events, some of them multiple times but they kept disappearing. Finally figured it out though: go to Settings: Mail, Contacts, Calendar. Scroll to calendar, then You have the option of adjusting the sync time of your calendar. Mine was set to "1 Month" so everything older than that was disappearing. I changed it to "6 Months" and when I returned to the calendar all events I previously entered that had seemingly disappeared, magically reappeared! Even in the multiple forms I had entered them so I deleted the duplicates! Good Luck!

I can´t sync iCal events written in the iphone4 to the macbook ical, but conversely from macbook to iphone there´s no problem, can somebody help me?
Thanks for your answer! I tried as you say, erase the Sync History, but now does not sync any calendar, only displays the birthday ...do not know whatelse to try.

When I download photos from a flash drive,everything is fine and they show in Events and Pictures, but when I click on the individual pic I get an error message saying that it cannot locate the JPG. Any thoughts?
It sounds like your iPhoto Advanced preferences are set to not copy photos during import, i.e. a Referenced library:
Check your Advanced preferences to see if that's the case. If it is the best solution would be to select the checkbox to copy the photos and reimport the photos from the flash drive. Then check the new import. It it was OK you can delete the previous event with the "missing" photos.

I've just updated itunes and it has disappeared from my PC- the previous shortcut won't work and it can't locate on my file search- this is the second time this has happened when updating itunes- APPLE you seem to be going down the tubes slowly but surely..
its not apple going "down the tubes" its that you have windows junk. These opinion best left at apple.com/feedback
you need to completely uninstall itunes and all components

OK..this forum help me locate my iPhoto so HOPEFULLY ya'll can help me w/ 1 another issue. When I open an event in iPhoto...I can see the pics but when I click on the event itself a HUGE exclamation mark pops up and not my pic. Its really weird that I can see the pic but cant open it. Hopefully we can correct this issue. Also, if anyone has the energy....pls tell me how I can export from my iphoto-I want to place all my pics on CDs or my external hard drive and when I try to export it says.."unable to export.." I dunno!

AmandaThe two problems are related.
The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
And that's why you can't export as well.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

When I receive an email request for a meeting, when I open it I get an error message asking if I want to revert to server, try again or ignore. If I choice revert to server it deletes the event, if I choice ignore it accepts it but won't sync with my other devices.
Interesting suggestion, but it's not clear to me how I would do that if I'm not using an "(at) icloud.com" email address/account. I am having the same problem with changed invitations that come from an organizer who is using Google Apps. My email account is hosted at my ISP - it's not obvious to me how I can use iCloud to access that email account (and therefore the changed invitation). Suggestions?

Do I delete the events from Finder or in FCPX ?

Can I know whether it is better to delete the Events file form FInder or from FCPX itself ?

I noticed in the finder, under the Final Cut Events folder, there are the following folders:
Backups
Original Media
Render FIles
Transoded Media
Assuming if I want to use back the Events i fututre,
Q1: what is the maximum contents I can delete ?
Q2: Is it correct to say that if I delete all the files in Render Files (and leave the folder Render FIles empty), I shall be okay ? FCPX will re-render again in future, right ?
Q3: I looked at the folder Original Media, it contains all mov files ... is it correct to say FCPX copies all the videos I imported into FCPX into this folder every time I do an import ? But why it doesn't have any pictures (I mean it is all videos) ?
Q4: In the Transcoded Media folder, there are also all mov files. How is this different from the mov files in the Original Media folder ?
Q5: I looked at the Render Files folder, they are all codes ... when we render a file, it generates a code ?

You have to be running iOS 5 in order to update via the iPad settings. You are running 4.3. You will have to update via the latest version of iTunes on a computer. After you update to iOS 5.1.1, you will be able to do OTA updates from the settings on the iPad.

I want to remove my credit card from my daughter's itunes account but i can't delete the information without getting a notification that i must have the fields filled out. When she first got the ipod touch, we did not need to supply credit card information for her to set up her account. Only now that I entered it for one purchase, I can't remove it. You definitely can.
To remove your payment information open iTunes and go into your account. An easy way to access your account is from quick links on the store home page. After you login there will be a payment type listed with an edit button next to it. Click edit then select none under card type (next to visa, mastercard, etc).
Afterwards at the bottom of the page select done, then your card will no longer be on file. It will prompt you for a card next time you try to download something that isn't free. -

Look everyone that comes here with a support problems has gone through all the normal channels, around and round in circles with no one seeming to be interested. They've called every phone number, every email address they can find. They have been put on hold and bounced fifty times to another operator only to be hung up on. If Adobe would bring back support to main land and have people that know what's going on instead of having people that people can barely understand read from scripts. Scripted information only applies about 10 % of the time. I'm just giving people an alternative. after they have torn their hair out going the normal route. If they had been able to get a solution they wouldn't be coming here for help.
There should be a forum set up just for people to air these issues and Adobe employees forced to man it. Then we wouldn't have to have such a Bad attitude. Right now Adobe's Support reputation is worse than Intuit's which did have the absolutely worse on the Planet. Now they are number 2.
You know it yourself that Adobe's support is absolutely worse than terible. However to prevent me from being banned from the forums I will simply will provide the adobecare email address from now on

somehow changed a video in my imovie to zero fps, so it just plays black. The video still exists on my desktop but even when I delete the files from imovie and reimport them the file is still in zero fps and play black.

Are you asking how to use Photoshop?
Or are you asking for the dimensions of video iMovie uses?
It edits in 720P HD, which is 1280x720.
You can make it a bit bigger so you can zoom in.

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

You do not have iOS 5 on your iPad so you have to update by using a computer via the latest version of iTunes. You can connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Select the iPad on the left side under the devices heading. Click on the Summary Tab on the right. Click on Check for Update.
After you update to iOS 5, you will have Software Update in you settings and can update via WiFi OTA.

ICal sending a lot of duplicate invites
I use iCal with a Google account. Recently when I updated an existing calendar event (that includes invitees), all the invitees received what appears to be the same updated invite email over 40 times. Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a fix?
