Updated Find Friends. Now two copies on iPhone, both grayed out.

I just got a new 5s. I launched Find Friends, but was told I had to update it. So I went to the app store and did so. Now there are two FF icons on two separate iPhone pages, both grayed or dimmed out so I can't launch the app from there. But if I go to the App Store, there is an Open button now instead of an Update button. I can click this and the app open and works fine. It looks like the old version to me, but perhaps there's not much difference? Also, I can use the switcher (double click home button) to get the running app.
When I plug into iTunes, one icon on iTunes's Apps page for FF looks normal (and like the old one), but the other one is gray and has a generic icon. Perhaps I should delete both from iTunes and re-update?

Just an update: Turned on my iPhone 5 this morning and PRESTO! The feature is back. I'm not aware of any settings that changed. Maybe the feature just disappears sometimes due to changes on Apple's end? (I've noticed Siri will sometimes be grayed out as well).

not much response in here which surprises me...
Anyway... AS I am still looking for answers, I will share a couple of points that I realised...
in Airport Utility, I noticed that my iphone MAC address was actually showing as client connected, despite my phone network showing the spinning wheel next to the network name for ever and never actually connecting.
I am currently testing the router mode in Network to be on DHCP and NAT mode with a range from .2 to .200
My phone is now connected....
Everything seems to be ok and happy so far...
strange that this router and phone have worked together for at least a couple of years, the phone works everywhere else, and all other toys connect to my WIFI just fine. the list is as follow:

Zeppelin air
2x apple tv
2 ipads
iphone 4s
2 mac
1 pc
I have litterally just hard reset the router with a pin just now as a last resort... same...
I will leave the router as DHCP & NAT until a potential firmware or OS update...

You mean you imported or transferred photos from your iPhone's Camera Roll with your computer?

It is not practicale to do this always any one faces the same problem

There may be a problem with the SIM card. Get a new SIM card from your carrier - there should be no charge for a replacement.
If no change with a new SIM card, the standard troubleshooting steps in order are:
Power your iPhone off and on.
An iPhone reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.
Restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup.
Restore your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after any of these steps in order, your iPhone has a hardware problem.

PROBLEMS:
1. When clicking on the Finder icon in the dock, the main menu grays out and the window with documents, applications etc., does not pop up.
2. iMac is not showing up in iCloud.com and, not syncing with my MacBook Pro, iPad Mini and iPhone.
This situation seemed to appear after doing updates on my iMac.
TROUBLESHOOTING I'VE TRIED:
1. rebooted,
2. repaired permissions,
3. booted in safe-mode and let the basic tests run then rebooted to normal mode. Afterwards, the problem seemed to be corrected, however, it re-appeared shortly thereafter and still exists.

Go to the Finder's General preference pane and reset the New Finder windows show: option. Try changing it to some other folder, try it and then back again.
If that doesn't jump start it try moving the com.apple.finder.plist file from your Home/Library/Preferences folder to the Desktop, reboot and then reset the Finder preferences.
For Mavericks and Yosemite go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:

I've reset the password a few times and know I am using the correct one. I get the same error on both my iPad and iPhone. Both see the network but maybe there is a problem with the router. I've also reset that a few times with no luck. Thank you.

My wife and I each have iphones. We'd like to each share apps/music/etc on my apple account. Can we each have a unique Find Friends without having to have her get her own iphone account and lose being able to share apps?

Find my friends requires an Apple ID to sign into the program.
This is required just for the app and not the entire phone.
Almost the same as find my iphone... any Apple ID can be entered.

See One cover, too many tracks and One album, too many covers. A tiny spelling discrepancy in the Artist or *Album Artist* field is making one part of the iPod app see two copies of the album, the *Greatest Hits* "bug" then gives each copy of the album all of the tracks rather than just those with the matching value of Artist/Album Artist.

IPhone wifi grayed out?

So I have a lifeproof iPhone case (waterproof). Apparently it leaked ever so slightly while taking under water pictures one day, causing minimal water entry to the top right (at the power button) The only side effects (after leaving the phone in rice) were no wifi and an outer camera with evaporation residue. So now the wifi button is grayed out and says 'no wifi'. Under settings>general>about>wifi it says 'N/A'. I've done a network reset, a hard reset, a full restore, I've even tried the chill thing. So now of course I suspect a hardware issue, or I need to somehow reprogram my wifi settings. Could possibly the wifi antenna have broken? Can a local apple store repair that? Any advice now is much appreciated. Thanks.

That generally indicates a critical failure. It's a hardware problem. Apple will not repair phones, they replace them. Make an appointment at the genius bar and take your credit card. An out of warranty replacement is US$149 for an iPhone 4.

Airport Time Capsule Caused iPhone Wifi Gray Out

My new Airport Time Capsule (2 TB) and my MacBook Pro connect via wifi, but my iPhone 4S (iOS 6.1.3 upgrade months ago - no problems) did not detect my TC. The iPhone wifi icon disappeared while I was looking for my TC in the list of wifi signals and wifi is now grayed out in my iPhone Settings. I tried the various remedies for wifi gray out many people apparently experienced upon iOS 6.1.3 upgrade, but none worked, not even delete/restore. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone heard of this happening during TC setup? Thanks.

Apple claims the Airport Time Capsule had nothing to do with the iPhone gray out issue, which they say is an out of warranty iPhone hardware issue. The apparent solution is to purchase a new iPhone 4s for $199.
I had my iPhone a little over 500 days. Let's call it 500 even, which is 720,000 minutes or 43,200,00 seconds.
Qs: What is the probability that a wifi hardware flaw unrelated to my attempt to establish a wifi link to the TC would materialize in the very minute of a link attempt? What is the probability of witnessing the resulting the gray out the very second it occurred?

Both my iPhone and I pad are not communicating together. They are glitch. You can be in a game or surfing the web and all the sudden the screen goes black. I have lots of memory and space. Updates from Apple, now wireless doesn't connect, connection timing out

Was working fine yesterday, log shows the updates happened on Sunday, but I probably didn't actually reboot my machine since then, rebooted my machine last night, and since then have not been able to access my wireless DSL (WPA). Worked fine yesterday. Windows machines on network still work fine. I rebooted the router, and it still works fine on Windows. The problem is that the machine sees the network but the logs show the connection is timing out. This was not happening yesterday. What the heck is going on? I don't run Parallels, so that update isn't it.
Anyone have any idea of how I can:
1. Make sense of logs on the Mac to help me troubleshoot this?
2. Back it out the security updates and the airport update?
3. Determine if other updates happened yesterday that were "silent installs" that I might back out?
Thanks in advance. Luckily I have other non Mac OS machines to fall back on. This is the first update in over a year where I've had total network access failure with the Mac after an install.

Sometimes file permissions can get out of sync when you install new third party software, because they don't reset to the factory defaults. Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility -> Select hard drive inside Disk Utility -> Select First Aid -> Click on Repair Permissions.
Also if you are running any software while you install an update, it can leave certain documents in a precarious state.
This might mean you can remove and add back your wireless setup preferences for that machine, and it will be able to connect again.
