have you logged on to https://www.icloud.com/? Try loggin on and your contacts should be there. I would also try holding the power and home screen button until you get a apple logo and restart it. That may help also

I had the same problem while updating my wife's 3GS and after panicking for a few mins I googled it and it seems that a lot of people ran into the same issue.
Now then, IF you backed up your phone prior to doingthe update then you could try any one of the solutions on this page

Solution #5 worked for me but I have to add somehting that they won;t tell you.
When doing the resotre it will ask you if you want to do a back up
**********DON'T DO IT***********
Just run the restore and make sue that any questions Itunes asks you during the restore process you answer with the sole purpose of getting your contacts back.

Solution #5 – Restore Your iPhone
This fix submitted by Chris (thanks!) in the comments, and seems to work for a few people:
Plug iPhone into Computer
Launch iTunes
After it’s done syncing, right click on iPhone (under devices in the left) and click on “Restore from Backup”
Choose one (it may not be the most recent, some folks have bad backups just before the upgrade)
Let the iPhone restore completely
DO NOT CONNECT TO iCLOUD -

Check for locally created backups on your PC using the free version of the iPhone Backup Extractor software. Then just retrieve your data and import it back to your iPhone. Cheers!

Can anybody help with this problem?The new Skype layout looks like a classical Microsoft Office sotware (scroll-down menus from the top bar) and in spite of what was announced before installing the update, the damage to the history of conversations and contacts is massive!!!
MMy iPhone was synced with my computer and the cloud. After re syncing, pics and contacts remain in cloud and computer but won't sync to my iPhone. Even my IT guy at work is stumped! I would love to have all my pics and contacts back on my phone. I have not yet updated my iPad d air because I'm afraid the same thing will happen.

Updated Ipad now lost everything in Icloud!!
A friend has updated his Ipad to the latest version & in doing so has lost all data on the ipad.
He went to restore the data from a backup in the icloud but apparently they have all gone along with all the photos he had too.
Is there a way to restore the data that was in icloud as he didn't delete it himself?
Any help would be much appreciated.I understood that you have created a new iCloud account, right? In this case delete your new iCloud from your device (Settings > iCloud) and then sign in with your old account.

Lost all outlook contacts in outlook
I used Icloud to sync Outlook 2007 to my new Ipad and lost all my contacts, tasks, notes and cal. in outlook... They are on my Ipad. How do I get them back as I use outlook much more than my Ipad...

Previously Csound1 posted that it is not a bug, it is how outlook works. We if they knew how it worked the why the (insert your own word) did they promise proper outlook integration!????? Outlook doesn't have a bug, nor do they have a problem with their contacts. THE PROBLEM is Apple should not be able to advertise outlook integration when they screw up your contacts with iCloud. I'm not a programer, but is seems to me that if they can modify contacts when they are in the "iCloud" folder, why can't they be modified where they were? Probably a good reason, but not a good enough solution to offer to millions of people who had their contacts
moved/corrupted/deleted when they tried to make the switch to iCloud. -

If you are experiencing difficulties with the connection between your stereo and device, disconnect the device, and then power cycle the stereo and your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. When the Home screen reappears, reconnect your device. If you cannot power cycle the stereo, turn the car off and then back on to allow the stereo to power off.

Did you backup the iPad first? If you did - restore from the backup in order to restore the photos in the Saved Album on your iPad. If the photos were synced to the iPad, then sync them back again via iTunes.

If you did backup first, you will be restoring your most recent backup and you should be OK. But know that when you restore from a backup, you restore everything that is in that backup onto the iPad .... All documents, device settings, all data and so on. You cannot just select photos to restore to the iPad. It's all or nothing. -

I updated to the new software today and now in having several problems! Lost all my contacts. Anytime I try and back up to iCloud it says it can't be complete and now I get a cannot connect to store message. Help!
Something in your backup may be corrupt. Try wiping it and setting it up as a new device, then sync your apps, data and media back to it from iTunes. DO NOT resotre from your backup. If the problem is contained in the backup, it will bring it right back again if you restore.

What application were you syncing your contact to before you updated? Check the settings on the info tab and sync them back.
If you were NOT syncing them to an application (Outlook or Windows Address Book on a PC, Address Book on a Mac), you can try forcing a restore from your backup again. If they don't come back, they are most likely gone. -

Where were you storing your contacts? In the cloud? In outlook? Synch them back from wherever they were being stored.
