Updated Ipod now password problems

can anyone help me with this problem?
I recently installed update Itunes 4.0 on my sons ipod with no problems but now it wont accept my Itunes password!
The same password is fine on the other 2 devices I have linked to Itunes - its only the one I updated.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I forgot my password on my old iPod touch, how do I get into it?
If I plug it into my computer and try to restore it, will it ask for my iTunes account password?
Because I forgot that password too (because it's an old account which I can't use anymore because I don't know the answers to the security questions).
What do I do?!?!?!?!?! I just want to be able to use the iPod again

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • Trying to update iPod software; Connection problems.

Okay, so I have the iPod Touch 4th Gen, and when I plugged it into my computer, iTunes said that there was a iPod software update available. I've tried several times to download the update, but every time I try the same thing happens: It only downloads a few hundred KB of it, then it stops there, and the remaining time displayed keeps going up until it shows up to 24 hours or more, and finally, an error message comes up saying it couldn't complete the request because of connection problems. (error = -3259)
On a similar note, when downloading songs from iTunes, I constantly have to pause and resume them in order for them to fully download. Otherwise it just stops where it is.
However, I can still connect to the store just fine, with only a very few timeouts here and there, but those are easily remedied by re-visiting the page I tried to view.
So, clearly I have some sort of issue with my connection to iTunes. Can someone please help me?

care to share what the other way to download it is??
My boss has an ipad, last week he downloaded the 2 entire seasons of 24, and a season of Rescue Me with no problems at all, now he's trying to download a movie and he keeps getting this error. If those shows downloaded just fine why won't the movie download? Our Windows firewalls are disabled by Group Policy so that's not the problem... and our security software hasn't changed since last week when he successfully downloaded those shows so that shouldn't be the issue either. We don't use proxys. He's wired to the internet so it's not a wireless timing out on him issue. He's on the latest version of itunes. He's logged out of itunes store, shut down itunes, and relogged in... same problem.

  • Ipod 3g password problem

My ipod 3g does not seem to recognize the password to join network. It keeps indicating password is incorrect. I have a DSL 2wire modem from ATT and we use the default password. My husband's iphone quickly got connected, and so did the rest of the notebooks (1 Apple and 1 HP) and the other pc (HP) we have. I would very much like to pay for the Apple care support but not sure if my problem would get resolved. Also did the ipod update and did not really solve it. Please help.

I have to enter another network (do not choose default network, enter the network name and enter the password. It works!

  • HT1848 transfered ipod apps and music to library on mac, updated iPod, now want to transfer apps and music back to iPod.  How do I do it?

I transfered apps and music from my ipod touch to my library on my mac before updating my ipod touch to version 6.0, now how do I get music and apps back on ipod touch.  I can see them in my library on my mac.

Okay I finally fixed it.  I had to turn off wifi on ipad, connect ipad to computer with usb, unsync all music, deauthorize and then reauthorize my computer, and resync all music again!  What a hassle but I now have all my music on ipad again.

  • Updated iPod now slow synching to iTunes???

I just got back from 18 months travelling, during which time my PC (with iTunes) was continually switched off, and my iPod was travelling with me. Upon returning I had a few weeks back on my PC before I reconnected the internet at home, during which time I had my iPod connected via USB to my PC and everything continued to work as it had before I left, apart from when I clicked into the iPod "drive" on my HD I got a threat warning for a file "I-Worm/BrontokX Data Graffiti.exe". I have never heard of this worm and so far detected no weird behaviour in either the iPod on its own, or iTunes, or accessing the iPod through iTunes (synching etc). I didn't want it to automatically quarrantine any files on the iPod itself, so I did nothing. At this stage the versions of both iPod software and iTunes were those from February 2009.
I recently reconnected the internet and firstly restored the iPod to factory settings just to be safe with respect to the virus threat warning. I then updated both iPod software and iTunes to current versions (iTunes version 10.0.1.22). I then re-synched my iPod.
The first thing I noticed is that things are MUCH slower now. Whereas I used to be able to synch new contact at the rate of one new song every second or 2, synching my library from scratch again took a VERY long time, up to 1 minute per song, or about 8 hours for 15GB of media.
Secondly, I keep my media on an external hard drive (due to space on my PC) and I find that I'm having relatively frequent issues now with iTunes "losing" my media and not being able to find it on the external drive (little "!" appears next to song etc), and not being able to find the connected iPod, which never happened on the old versions before I did the updates. Closing and restarting iTunes does not fix it, but restarting the PC does.
Thirdly, now that I have re-synched, the media now seems to be taking much less space on my iPod. Before the update, I had virtually filled my 16GB iPod nano with my entire library. Now, the same library takes barely more than 12GB of space on the iPod.
    I guess my questions/issues are:
    * Any ideas about the "virus" threat "I-Worm/BrontokX Data Graffiti.exe"? I assume that restoring the iPod to factory settings would have removed any issue but should I be more worried?
    * The new versions of iTunes/iPod software just seem to be more, well, jittery than what I had, even if it was versions from Feb09 ("losing" my media, "losing" the iPod, taking far longer to synch etc)?
    * Why would media that took 15GB of space on my iPod before the software update, now take only 12GB? I'm worried that stuff is going missing but I can't go through 3,500 songs individually
    Any ideas/hints/tips/comments welcome

1st Gen minis required a connection to the power adapter to complete the Firmware update. AC adapters were provided in the box with all 1st Gen minis. 2nd Gen minis do not need this step.
You'll need to find an adapter to complete the process. Sometimes an auto DC charger can also work.
No way around this requirement for the 1st Gen mini (and some earlier iPods as well).

  • Updated iPod, now showing Main Charge Icon, but iPod isn't charging

It just keeps showing the plug into main Icon. I have tried different cables and different power points but nothing I am doing is working. I have even tried to re-plug it into the computer. But everytime it gets power connected or turn on. It shows this Icon. What can I do?? I can't even restore it as it won't come up on the computer..

  • Updated ipod, now it wont turn off.

last week i updated my ipod with the latest software and now when i hold the play/pause button it wont shut off, i have tried to reset it but it wont work, what can i do?

Here are some things to try if your iPod doesn't turn off.
First of all, be sure that your "Hold" switch isn't turned on (the hold switch is located on the top of your iPod).
Then, there are a few things to try that are outlined here:
-- Reset the iPod. Be sure you're doing it the correct way: Press and hold the Menu and Select (center) buttons together for about 5-10 seconds.
Be sure to also try connecting your iPod to a power source while doing this step several times.
-- Try toggling the Hold switch. Flip the "Hold" switch on your iPod (located on the top) back and forth several times.
Again, this includes connecting the iPod to a power source while you're toggling the Hold switch back and forth (this worked for someone who's iPod wasn't responding to anything)
-- If none of these work, you might want to try Restoring your iPod. Note that this does delete all the contents off the iPod (which is why it is more as a "last resort"), but often clears up any issues you might be facing.
For more info on this process, take a look at this Knowledge Base article: Restoring your iPod to factory settings

  • Updated iPod now I have to plug into wall with adapter?

    Hi,
New to this board and hoping someone can help.
Downloaded the iPod Updater last night and now my iPod is asking me to plug it into an external power source using an adapter. Why? I don't have an adapter. (I know I can buy one but I don't see why I should have to in order to complete the update). Looks like I can't use the iPod until I do so because the power adapter/wall plug icon always shows when I try to turn on the iPod.
    Am I missing something here?

  • Updated iPod, now no space on computer

I updated my iPod touch (64gb, purchased 2/10) today for the first time in many weeks (lost my cable). It got all it's updates, "backed up" for literally HOURS, then finally sync'd. Toward the end of the sync I got an error message stating that not all of my ipod photos were transferred because there wasn't enough space on my computer to back them up. When I disconnect my iPod I have ZERO free space on my computer. There was 12-13 GB free space prior to updating. My iPod is less than 1/2 full. What happened?!

Also, now when I view my pictures on my iPod they're all blurry or a lower resolution. I've really no idea what's going on here...

  • Updated Firmware Now Scrolling Problem

I upgraded the firmware yesterday to the latest version. Now whenever I'm scrolling slowly through calendar or email or something similar my scrolling "sticks" near the top of the screen about a half inch down from the top of the screen. It's like the phone loses tracking of my finger in one spot and then regains its position and continues scrolling. Anyone else experience this? It's really annoying, terrible glitch. Any ideas?

Did you update via iTunes? Via Settings>General>Software Update?
Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.

  • Updated ipod, now frozen.

I have a first gen ipod touch and when i wanted to put apps on it so i paid the $5 to upgrade my ipod, but it stopped in the middle of the upgrade, my itunes works fine lets me see my ipod and everything. but my ipod is frozen with on the screen with the apple logo and the loading bar. and according to itunes, all my music is gone off my ipod after it did a "backup" before the upgrade.

Ya, i had a similar problem. i am trying to get the 4.1 software and half way through, it frigged up. it wants me to do a restore. when i do so, it says an unknown error has occurred. try resetting yours by holding the power and the round button until it restarts. if that doesn't work, i remember being on the phone with customer service a while back and they told me how to open the ipod as a mass storage device and manually format it. We should try to find out how to do that. (it is possible without additional software).
