Updated Itunes to 10.6.3 and cannot add music to library at all?

Itunes will not play any music files that are not already added to the library either. Any ideas? Restarted program, searched for files in Itunes....

Importing content setting problems - and cannot add music & still photos

Sorry for the newbie questions, but just starting with iMovie and I'm having some serious problems.
When I import movies from my harddisk iMovie seems to make a second copy and much larger version of the movie file stored in the iMovie folders (a 900mb master created a 1.4gb duplicate). How can I stop it from duplicating (& changing) the master? I certainly don't want to 'move' as it seems the original will be deleted. Probably just a check button somewhere (I hope).
Also, when trying to create a movie I cannot add music of photos! The music and photo browsers are empty. How can I navigate the disk to select a song or a photo still? There must be some settings to tell it where to find music/photos on the disk.

Updated to itunes 12.1.0.71 and now cannot import music from a cd or from a folder. I ran the diagnostics test, and itunes can find the cd, but will not import it. Itunes will play the cd though.
Any suggestions? Is there a bug fix coming?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

I just updated Itunes to the newest version and now my entire song library is saying 'can't play this song because original file can't be found'. ***??

I have no idea what happened!? I just updated Itunes on my macbook and now my entire song library won't play. When I click on a song it says it can't play because it can't find the original file. How is this possible? The original files are on my computer. I just upgraded!! HELP!!

The only thing I can think of is that you deleted these files off your computer without using iTunes to do it. Or maybe you backed up your computer to a previous state to where these song files didn't exist? The last one doesn't even make sense to me unless you used Time Machine to do it. But those are the only things I can think of.

Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything back.
Certainly you did not reset your ocmputer without making sure that your backup copy was up to date.

Cannot add music to library - insufficient privileges.

Hello all. I have a Time machine backup that i have files in. The backups were done in snow leopard, but i recently sold that computer and bought another on from someone and it only has leopard. So Of course i can't load a time machine backup due to OS differences.
So I tried to simply go into the time machine backup and just navigate to the folder that had some music in it, but it wasn't an itunes folder. Just some music in a lone folder. When I tried to add it to the itunes library then it said something like I didn't have enough privileges. So i went to the folder and changed the privileges for everyone to have read and write access to that folder and the files inside of it. Itunes still gives me the same error. I even changed the privs in the itunes music folder in which the music would go to when added to itunes and i changed those privs....no good.
So now what do I do? I'll end up getting the snow leopard soon, but i still want to get some files in there now. I am also afraid that i might not have enough space on this hard drive because the time machine backup had ALOT of stuff in there. Unless time machine is smart and doesn't add all the system files in there or something.

Which particular .msi file is the message going on to say cannot be found? (Several different .msi files might be mentioned in this context: itunes.msi, bonjour.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi, etc.)

We buy apple why?
Quality.
Intuitive interface.
Stable software.
Design.
All that Steve Jobs consider sacrosanct.
Quality is about ongoing support longevity of product.
Its not about trying to sell to every person on the planet, others are way ahead of you.
So try respective the customers you have, it wont be long before theirs a better operating system and your lead in hardware is marginal.

If you have an iPhone or iPad do not update to ISO 7 unless you want an operating system that looks like windows 8. The graphics looks like it was designed by a artistically challenged mongoose and the operating system is not intuitive something apple users expect. Overly complicated ugly and generally change for the sake of apples paranoia since the death of Steve Jobs.

Only way to get iMac starting again was to re-install 10.4.4 from DVD, and then update it into 10.4.6. For a while it worked perfectly, just as before.
Then I tried to print to CD with my EPSON Stylus Photo 950 from Adobe Photoshop Elements (2.0). It didn't print anything, but printer started flashing all lights. The print job was not performed, so I did remove it from the Printer Utility. After that the iMac started "ticking" again, same noise than before, after 10.4.7 installation. I did re-boot iMac. It never started, it does stuck on gray screen (gray block running clockwise). HW test from DVD didn't find any problems (extended search looping 3 times). But Disk Utility found hard drive to have inaccurate node structure, it could not fix it.
Apple support recommended to use DiskWarrior. However, it does not support (yet) Intel Macs. I haven't got TechTool Pro 4.5.1 anywhere. iMac does start on to FireWire mode (T at boot), but I cannot see the disk from 10.2.8 iMac.
So, obvisously the problem is not 10.4.7. I believe it to be ESPON printer driver compatibility on Mac OSX. This does not suprise me, EPSON printers *****, I shall never purchase one again. However, disk catalog structure should not get messed by one faulty printer driver!

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
