Updated links not publishing

I am on Lion 10.7.5  I have IWeb 3.04.  I just went to add a link as an external page to a page. It added it. I published the change. Uploaded the html via Fetch to my server. when I do preview in Safari, it does not show the change, even after a refresh. I tried 2 other browsers, Firefox and Chrome. When I use  Safari to check the file on my hard drive, it is the same. Iweb is not publishing the updated/added link. Suggestions please.

If you are using Wordpress for the blog, then if you are having problems with iWeb, why not consider moving the whole site to WordPress.org instead?  If you have used WordPress before, then it would probably not take you long to move the site and then you could have that uniform look of the site with one template.  You could have the whole website, plus the blog 'under one roof'.  As you probably already know, you can alter WordPress so that you can have a static front page and change your blog posts elsewhere.
Don't know whether you use WordPress.com which is free or WordPress.org, which you need to install on your servers?
If you don't want to upload WordPress to a server/host, then you can download it and use it locally on your Mac - you would also need to download something called MAMP for free and set this up on your Mac.  It is very easy to do - so download MAMP and then set up your database - My Sql.  Download WordPress and place it in the htdocs folder under MAMP.  You are then ready to install WordPress locally, so you run the install and connect the database to WordPress.
This means that you can play around with WordPress and re-design your site at leisure, without the need to install it on a server/host and when the local site is ready, you can upload it whenever you want.

  • Report portlet update link not working

    Hi
I have created a report using the "Query by Example (QBE)" method and going through the wizard selected the right options in order to enable users to update and delete records.
I get the values from my table out, but when I try to update (click on the "update" link), the new page that displays does not let me edit any of the values, or put new values next to empty fields. I have given myself "manage" privileges, then also changed that to "execute", but it remains the same. How can one create a report where the fields are updatable? Can this be done? Also, is it possible to change that portlet so the (new) html page size is smaller than the default that comes up?
Any information will be most appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Dreamweaver CS4 update links not working??

    Hello,
I have recently installed DW CS4 for our web designer. I have the update links preference set to prompt. When I moved pdf file to another folder it never asked me to update links. It only said am I sure I wanted to move the file. Should this work when moving a document file?
    Thanks,
    Tony

Yeah, I figured that. I'm trying to come up with the best way for users that uses Contribute. We have multiple folders with PDF's in them. It looks like Contribute only allows you to create one folder and use that folder. Unless you know of a good way Contribute can accomplish this? I would owe you

  • Template updates links not correctly

    Dreamweaver CS3 for Mac:
I had to add the following into my already existing sitewide
    template file:
    <!--[if IE]>
    <link href="../iestyle.css" rel="stylesheet"
    type="text/css" />
    <![endif]-->
but unfortunately links that are more than one level deep do
not update correctly on my HTML pages.
Is there a way to make this work?
    Martin

    >Ok, it seems that Dreamweaver is overstrained by altering
    template links within conditional statements.
    >Thats very sad, if this group is read by Adobe people
please fix this before Dreamweaver CS4!
    >I prefer clean HTML files but it seems the only solution
is to bloat each and every file with browser specific CSS or
    scripts
You are wrong - it is not a DW bug. The link to the
stylesheet has to be either relative to the root of the website
(href="/xxx" notation) or relative to the page (href="../xxx"
notation) NOT the template. You may not see this in the design view
of DW depending on what version you are using and how you have set
DW up to include links (See options/preferences).
If you have multiple levels of pages, then you HAVE to use
root relative links - that is the way of the web, it is not a DW
    problem.
If you want to see the correct result in Design view, you may
have to use 'Design time stylesheets' : Look up the term in DW
    help.

  • IWeb update site not publish.

    Hi Guys,
The answer is either yes or no and is most likely staring me in the face but for the life of me I can't see it.
Once you have done the a full publish of you website with iWeb and .Mac is there a way to just update parts of your site you have added or edited instead of re publishing your entire site every time you make a change?
    Cheers,
    rEEzA

I just got iweb last night so excuse my ignorance but:
I published a site with 2 pages. The first page is a large quicktime, about 800megs... it's my professional film editing reel. The second page has a large quicktime about 700megs. Problem is: the movie on the second page is fine on the web. The movie on the first page doesn't show up on the web. There's just a big fat "Q" logo where the movie should be. Is this because I've run out of server space? If so, why doesn't that warning come up and inform me to buy more space??? How do I fix this? I need the movie on the first page to work... my film editing samples.

  • IWeb not publishing site updates

Starting today - 5/18/09, A site I have in iWeb is no longer publishing updates. The site publishes to my mobile me account, and is redirected to my domain. This is the page in question - http://www.pitassidesigns.com/Portfolio/Web_Design.html
Besides the code iWeb puts out I have added the favicon code, and Google Analytics Code. For some reason when I made some changes to some images, they do not appear as they should. The first image should be swapped with the second, and now the second image is gone. The google code, and favicon code it still there, and I usually have to re-input it after updates. Also the page in iWeb remains red, as if it was not published. I tried to delete that page and file folder from my idisk, and iweb doesn't publish a new one as it should. I tried restarting and nothing. I tried publishing the whole site, and it remains the same.
Any help would be great, I don't feel like manually writing this page out in Dreamweaver, iWeb is so much easier.

Ignore this. As usual when I decide to post this it works on the 10th try. Not sure what happen there.

I am trying to install iOs 5.1 on myiPad but when I go to 'General' to 'Settings' the link 'Software update' is not visible. Any advice would be welcome.

This feature is only available on iOS 5 or later.  You must still be running iOS 4.  Connect your iPad to the computer you usually sync with and run iTunes software update.

  • Firefox update will not work but when I follow suggested link to do it manually, it says my version of Firefox is up to date.

Whenever I open Firefox, it keeps trying to do an update. Then I get the following error message "The Update could not be installed (patch apply failed)" It then tells me to update manually at Blah, blah, blah. When I follow that link, it tells me that my computer has the latest version of Firefox. What gives?

If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and delete the Firefox program folder to remove any leftover files.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 10.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data because all profile folders will be removed.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Dreamweaver cs6 does not update links when moving files.

Dreamweaver cs6 does not update links when moving files. I've tried changing my general > settings for "Update links when moving files" to "prompt", and Ive tried "always". Neither work for me. The files are moved fine, but the links don't change. When it's set to "prompt" - I'm never prompted. Is this a bug or is there another setting somewhere?

I haven't define a site. I've opened an index.htm file within a folder structure that I have on my MAC. When I moved a  file called art.htm (within the files tab) from a subfolder into the root folder with the index.htm file, it didn't update the image links in art.htm.
In order for DW to manage links, you absolutely MUST Define a Site...
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-dreamweaver-cs5/gs01-defining-a-new-site/
Also, you MUST use the Files tab within DW to move files around within your Defined Site in order for DW to know it needs to update links.

  • Namoroka update link is not working (version 3.6.3, Windows 7 64bit)

I'm using Namoroka 3.6.3 on a Windows 7 professional 64bit desktop; when I try to "check for updates" (menu "help"), I get the response (after a while): "Update server not found (check your internet connection)". The link provided for a manual update leads to Firefox 32bit and is not useful.
P.S: my internet connection is working fine.

All Firefox version on Windows are 32 bit versions unless you have installed a 64 bit version from other sources.<br />
If you installed a Namoroka nightly build version of Firefox 3.6.x then that is a 32 bit version.

  • IWeb 3.0.4 will not publish changes.

I have not updated or made any changes to my system.  I am using Leopard.  Suddenly, iWeb is not working.  I edit my homepage, but when I publish, the changes do not appear online.  I have tried several times; I have even delted the home page and created a new one from scratch.  But every time I publish, it just shows the previous version.  I'm trying to change a link for one of the words on the page, but it won't work.  Help!

I am having the same problem. I created a new website with iWeb and when I test the connection everything is ok. The site page listing on the upper left side of the window is red and next to the site name there is a small icon that looks similar to an RSS feed icon. When I click on PUBLISH ENTIRE SITE that option grays out but nothing happens. In the past when I have published websites next to the site name there is a circle that shows the progress of the upload and when completed the list turns blue. I have cleared cache, quit iWeb and restarted the computer. I do have multiple usernames on this computer each with a different iWeb website, but none of them are logged in.
Godaddy is the host and I called their support line and all my settings are correct. Although they tried, they could not help me beyond that. My iWeb version is 3.0.3 and I am running on OSX v 10.5.8.
I have had similar problems in the past with iWeb not publishing changes, but usually after I do the things above it will work.
    Please help! Thanks.

  • Reverse changes made but not published

I’ve made three calls to Apple Care tech support who give me the IWEB support people but I’m not getting a satisfactory answer to my question. I built a nice little website for my pet sitting business using the IWEB application and was happy with it. But everyone complained I was not being found in any search engines and that I had to bypass the IWEB application and use an SEO tool to add “key” words into the script.
I started out OK, but couldn’t do the whole site in one sitting including updating all the links etc., so I saved but DID NOT publish. I now no longer want to try and bypass the IWEB app because its just too confusing to me to try and make minor changes when I want to regarding the content and now the links are all screwed up because I was instructed to bypass Apple’s navigation bar and put in one with the SEO tool. Anyway, my question is, how can I revert back to my original site (which appears to the public) but not on the IWEB files I have to work with on my computer?
I saved copies of the site before I tried to change it, but the Apple people say that the HTML files are gone and can’t be retrieved because I don’t have a copy on my IDisk anywhere. Not sure what that is. Other than starting from scratch and building an entirely new site, is there anyway to retrieve the html files from what I saved and be able to just copy them back into the IWEB application? I am a major computer dyslectic when it comes to understanding all this stuff, so I’m totally confused and would appreciate any help you can offer.
    Thank you very much.

    Welcome to the discussions.

No — only iWeb's Domain file can be opened in iWeb. See this Apple doc on How to back up MobileMe data. It says:
“Any websites you have published with iWeb should still be available within iWeb. iWeb stores everything in a Domain file, normally located in the ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder (although it can be moved). If you no longer have this file, you can view your currently published pages and manually recreate them within iWeb, but *there is no way to import published pages back into iWeb*. You can manually back up the Domain file, or use Backup to back it up.”
Consider using another site builder — weebly.com is a popular, free web-based builder which works via drag & drop in your web browser. Here are some links to just a few of the features Weebly provides:

    Sub-Pages

  • 3750X 15.2.1E3 Updated Release Notes

I'm trying to find the updated release notes for 15.2.1E3 on the 3750X platform.
The link given on the IOS download page has not been updated with the E3 release info:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750x_3560x/software/release/15-2_1_e/release/notes/OL29707.html
It only shows the caveats up to E2.
    Thanks.

It looks like the folks in charge of that neglected to publish the updated notes. I checked it myself two different ways and found the same thing.
If you have a unit under Smartnet support, you could open a case and request the latest release notes.
