Updated my Aperture to 3.2 and now it won't open at all! I haven't backed my photos up and i'm worried i'm going to loose them all! Anyone else having problems or know how to fix this issue??? Cheers

You can still backup your library without opening Aperture.
Your Library is typically in your Pictures folder while the application is in your Applications folder.
So you should backup your Library first (drag it to an external HD to copy it or use a Vault) and then try the procedures on the Troubleshooting Basics page.

I updated my iphone to OS 5.0.1 and i can not add events to my iphone calendar- does anyone know how to fix this issue?
I updated today to the 5.0.1 and now when I try to sync to ITunes, it doesn't recognize my phone and an error message comes up saying that "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started.' When I create a new project in iMovie and drop clips into it, it plays the first one and then quits right near the end of the second clip. I have re-started my computer, tried a new project etc, and no luck, does anyone know how to fix this issue?
This is a part of the larger MacBook Pro connectivity issue. There are several related threads dealing with the MBP's networking problems. If your unit is suffering from this type of difficulty, good luck ... (or a long ethernet cable)
(PS Everybody please make noise on this one so apple comes up with a solution.)

I have an older version of itunes stuck on my computer and because of an apparent pathway missing it wont let me uninstall and reinstall the newer itunes....anyone know how to fix this issue?

What version of OS X are you using? If Yosemite, you need to update to 10.10.1 or higher.

When I connect my iPod nano 7th gen. to my computer and open itunes, there is a message that says the iPod could not be detected. Does anybody know how to fix this issue?
1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
3. Check the USB cable
4. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
5. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed.
6. If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job.
7. Check for third-party software conflicts. -
after update my iphone4 from ios5.0 to untethered ios5.0.1 i have the next problem, my home-screen wallpaper default folder become to black icons and if a set any it aply but in black, a lot of friends had the same issue without a fix.

josemahnI have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

My backlight on my macbook pro unibody is not working. The lights do not come on. Does anyone know how to fix this manually? Im also missing screes to the back of my computer holding it in shape. My battery needs to be replaced as well. How do i do all of this? Id also like to replace my RAM.
For the keyboard backlight:
Have you tried pressing the "lights on" F-key, that has like a half-round rays of light over a bar symbol (currently F6 on my Mac, but may be different on other models)? If it doesn't work, does anything show on the screen?
If a crossed-out symbol pops up onscreen when you press the F-key, that means that automatic keyboard lighting is enabled and the Mac thinks surroundings are too bright already. Go to System Preferences / Keyboard and uncheck the "Automatically illuminate keyboard..." item, then try again.
For the screws:
Visit www.powerbookmedic.com or www.ifixit.com and see in their Mac parts section for a replacement screw set. You will need to know your Mac's model, printed on the bottom lid, to ensure you get the correct parts for that particular computer.
For the RAM:
While in either of the two places I mentioned above, visit their How-To / DIY section for instructions on how to replace RAM on your Mac. Then visit www.crucial.com, www.corsair.com, www.kingston.com, www.otherworldcomputing.com or any other RAM maker, use their RAM advisor together with your Mac's model to select the correct RAM upgrade kit for your Mac. -
Just loaded latest iTunes update and now it won't open i get a message eror MSVCR80.d11 followed by error 7 Windows error 126, anybody help?

The time limits in the parental controls do not work. I have several mac systems and they do not work on all of them. Also, I have had this problem since at least snow leopard and it is very frustrating that Apple is unable to fix a simple issue like this. All they have to do is somehow 'hard-wire' the time limits to the system clock but they are not listening. I used the feed-back feature in their support webpage and hopefully everybody else experiencing this issue will too. Thus, if they get a thousand notes on this issue they might listen and finally fix it.
Well, the whole system with those time limits are funky. Sometime this happens, sometime that happens. When the user is on the bed time limits do not work nor do the length of time limits. It is very frustrating as one of the reasons I bought an apple in the first place was those parental controls which did not exist in Windows prior to Windows 7. I do have a Windows 7 machine now and the bed time limits work there. Maybe you have a Windows 7 machine as well and can let them use it.

I am using a MacBook Pro. Bought in April 2011. Upgraded to Lion, OSX 10.7.3
I have an Apple mail account that synced with a gmail account in my Mail Program.
I then chose the CLOUD activation. I can find my mail if I go to cloud.com but I no longer get any Apple mail delivered to my Mail program on my computer. My gmail account syncs just fine. In fact, the Mail program doesn't even open any longer when I double click. I have to go to the Mail menu, select Message Viewer to even view my mail program now. The Internet connection is testing fine using the Connection Doctor. But when the Connection Doctor program just whirs for eternity and never finishes checking the accounts.
Is this a bug? Do you have to set up your mailbox again for Apple mail to get it to sync after having mail hosted on the Cloud? Or does hosting on the Cloud mean I now always have to go the hassle of logging in at the cloud site to even access my Apple mail?
Any ideas out there? I am sure there are Mac geniuses, the real ones, floating around in cyber space and would love to get some intelligent directions to solve this new issue.

AnneI would like to add that Comcast is my internet provider. Perhaps that is part of the issue although the Connection Doctor confirms the mail box is connecting to the internet. No other function processes when Connection Doctor program is used to find the source of the issue. I have read forum posts but am unable to find a way to get my Apple mail to be delivered to my computer. It worked fine up until I chose to transfer mail to the Cloud. My mail account is a .mac account.
Still hoping someone out there can help me.

After updating my phone earlier this month to the 5.1 software my calendar won't let me save any events. It displays "Cannot save event" I have tried googling the error and I have tried restarting the app, restarting my phone and even cutting the calendar off and back on....nothing has worked. Any other suggestions???
Select the drive and Finder > Get info and at the bottom "ignore permissions on this volume"
You can copy the files, but the ownership on the files still belongs to the other user account, once your done copying, then perform a #6 Reset Users Permissions and that will set all the ownership to that account.

Another method is to copy the entire folder, then change it's permissions. -

If you're using the BlackBerry browser, you can't configure anything to bypass the RIM servers. I believe you may do so by using the Opera browser, but I haven't tried it myself so cannot comment with authority.
