Updated my ipod 4g and none of my apps open

all my apps are not opening. they flash like they are going to open, but then it shuts down.
don't know what to do! I need certain apps for classes! HELP!

Try a hard reset to see if that makes a difference. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

If still no luck try downloading and installing a free app from the app store. This has resolved the issue for many users.

Try as much as you can. When it says to place in recovery mode use this program instead.

Errors when updating leads to corrupt system files and this may be your problem. If you're using windows, connect your device to PC and run any third party app like Syncios. If it detects, you maybe in luck and try to back-up your data if possible. I hope that it won't and if doesn't, there is no other way to recover files. You should be restoring with iTunes and all data will be erased, or else your device may become unusable.

The logo is saying connect it to your computer with iTunes installed on the computer. I assume when yo do this that the iPod is not seen in iTunes. to make iTunes appear try:
- Resetting the iPod:

Exact same problem with my 2010 MBP 2.4ghz 4gb ram 10.6.8. iTunes said update was needed, Software Update ran with various updates including a security update, truthfully didn't pay much attention, I always install the Apple updates. After the restart it took 3-4 times longer than normal to get to the login screen, same to get to the desktop but I'm familiar with that occurring on update restarts. Unfortunately it got worse from there. Performed a full shutdown and startup. Same long boot. After the desktop finally loads every mouse button press received a 2 minute beachball. I use menu-meters and both processors are under 10%. Waited a few minutes for disk utilities to launch, repair permissions estimates 3 hours for a typical <10 minute process. Activity monitor shows nothing over 10% CPU most of the time however ReportCrash pops to the top often. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW zero problems until this update.

Netflix now requires iOS 5 or later. It appears you have a 2G iPod since those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
Many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

Have yu tried the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

You might wish to sync everything in the future. It makes it a snap to recover when necessary.

I just updated my Ipod touch and it said there was a error and I had to restore my ipod to use it again through Itunes. So I did this and erased all my music. How do I get back all the songs I just bought and all the apps back on my touch, without having to rebuy them?

They should be in itunes on your computer. Certainly you did not update before syncing your ipod to your computer. Just sync them back to the ipod, the same way you normally sync.

Did you try to reset by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?
