Does anyone know how to get back in their phone after updating ?

It sounds as if you have a second-hand iPhone. The original owner of the iPhone will have to unlock it, or it will remain useless to you. It is Activation Locked as described here:

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!

Thanks for the post and welcome to the forum. I am very sorry to hear you have been locked out of your email account.
If I had to speculate as to what has happened I would think that when the home move order was placed your email address was not moved to your new account. If your email is not linked to a broadband account or premium mail then the message you are receiving would be correct. However its clear that this is our fault and I am really sorry about this. This is something that I can sort out.
Can you please get your details off to me in an email? Just click on my username, (SeanD) and you will find the 'Mods contact link' under the 'About me' section of my profile. Once I have your details I will be able to confirm what has happened but more importantly I will ensure that nothing happens with this email address.

If You Are Locked Out Or Have Forgotten Your Passcode or Just Need to Restore Your Device
1. iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
2. iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
3. iOS- Understanding passcodes
     If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
     below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
     simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
     same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Why would you not be able to use your existing Apple ID and iTunes account on a new laptop? If you authorized the computer - you should be able to use your existing account - unless you already had 5 computers authorized with the existing ID - and that was why iTunes would not accept the ID. However, I'm sure that you would have received a popup message from iTunes telling you that you had reached the limit.
I just received a new MBP and my daughter did as well. My entire family shares an Apple ID and we had no issues at all with my Apple ID and iTunes on our new computers and I did not have to sign up for a new account. Did you even try the old ID?

UPDATE: I attempted to bypass activation using the emergency call 112 to get into the homescreen, but the call failed, in fact, even 911 will not go through and give me a call failed. (before you yell at me for dialing 911, I'm a firemedic )

Take your original proof of purchase from an Apple authorized retailer (or Apple Store) and the police report, make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store and they should be able to help you.

Remote user received a "deny log on locally" policy - and is now locked out

Hello,
A traveling user who received a "deny log on locally" policy remotely.
He was accidentally added to a wrong group and is now locked out.
What are the steps to clear this policy? We have a backup local admin account I can remote into.
I appreciate any suggestions or comments.

Resolve the wrong setting, remote into the machine and issue "gpupdate
/target:computer". Reboot and go ahead :)
