Updated playlist from my Mac will not update on my new iPad with match. Tried restart. Failed. Now what?

Can I force an update? Are there other solutions?

It sounds like you are wanting to update the Apps that were synced over from your computer to your new iPhone 5s. If you are clicking Updates in the App Store in the bottom right corner, would you mind clarifying what happens when you are trying to update them?

That is incorrect, archive them now and restore them later, if they are Mobile Me emails they will move to iCloud without you doing anything, but you should still archive them first.

The only Iceberg app I can find in the app store is a social networking app, not an e-reader. I don't see how you could buy books for it.
UPDATE: I see that it isn't available in the US app store. To contact the developer find it in your App Store and there will be a link to the developer's support site.

Mac will not load. Shows a screen with a question mark.

My macbook only loads to the screen where a question mark is displayed.
I've tried all the trouble shooting tips such as restarting while holding the command/option keys etc, removing the battery, etc. At the step where I try to do first aid on my hard disk, that will not work. "No valid package" displays as the error. It will not restore or erase either. The installation disk will load but not progress further. The computer can not read the hard drive anymore.
This happened after I left programs running and the computer went to sleep, when I came back it froze and I restarted but to only get this. Help?

I notice the first two replies you've gotten tell you to do things that you say you've already done. There's just no accounting for that kind of behavior -- it's very odd.
To answer your question, if Disk Utility cannot even erase the hard drive, you most likely have a hardware problem. A MacBook hard drive out to be able to report its SMART status, I would think, so try selecting the drive (not the partition, but the drive itself) in Disk Utility. At the bottom of the window there will be some info text -- what does the one labelled "S.M.A.R.T. Status" say? If it says "About to Fail" in red letters, that means you've definitely got hardware issues, and the drive itself needs to be replaced. If this machine is still under warranty, it ought to be fixed by Apple at no cost to you.
If the SMART status says "Verified", that means it's not a hardware issue, in which case it's puzzling why Disk Utility can't even erase it. In that case, I would advise trying a third-party disk utility, like TechTool Pro (http://www.micromat.com/). Perhaps then you could repair it to the point that Disk Utility could erase it. (And, if the damage is this bad, I'd definitely recommend erasing it and reinstalling everything from scratch.)

TS2972 Home Sharing will not work on my new iPad Mini

I have an iPad mini set up with home sharing on my iMac. When I try to search my home sharing library on the iPad mini, the music app immediately crashes. Also, it will not sort the music by artist or album, only by song or playlist. I have rebooted both of the devices multiple times and have verified that OS X, iTunes, and iOS are all up to date. Anyone else having this kind of problem with the new minis?

Figured out my problem sharing my music library on a new iPad Mini (I think). Two issues: (1) I have two Apple IDs, the result of doing one years ago and forgetting about it when I set up another; Apple doesn't seem to be able to ever merge or otherwise fix this problem, despite the best efforts of smart folks at the Genius Bar plus of course I'm forced to have 3rd ID as my iCloud username, but never mind....). I was logged in as one Apple ID and my music library is under the other. Went to "Music" under settings, signed out under "Home Sharing" on that page, signed in again as the other Apple ID. (2) Realized then that it was trying to share music from something called my iPad library instead of the library under my name, which is where my music is. When I fixed these two things, it all shared nicely. Whew!

A network installed HP8600, will not connect to a new client with OS WIN7SP1, WSD Print Driver err

My home network consists of 3 computers with OS WIN7-SP1 and a Networked HP8600 connected thru a Linksys E3200 router. 2 of the 3 computers have been on the network with the 8600 for several months and have had ongoing problems with receiving a print command. I've been trying to load the Printer software on the 3rd computer for the last 2 days without success. The software fails to complete installation and hangs up when trying to ID the Networked 8600. I had HP Print and Scan Dr. operating in the background and it found the printer, and gives the message "Installation failed", "Windows can not find a suitable Printer driver". Is there a fix that my research is failing to find?

If you connect the printer to the router using the Ethernet cord it is effectively "wireless" to all the other devices on the network. You just have to select "Network - Ethernet" as your connection type and install the printer that way to ensure they are all connected. If you do this, the printer will not have to be tangiby "connected" to any of the computers on your network.

I just recently added itunes to another pc and now my ipad will not sync on the new pc. It isnt even recognized. What should I do? HELP!!!

I just recently downloaded the newest iTunes and moved all my purchased and already owned music to another PC. Every since I did that I cannot get my iPad 1 to even be recognized in iTunes. I have Authorized the PC in iTunes, but my iPad still will not allow me to sync. I'm at a loss...PLEASE HELP!!!

1. You need to authorize iTunes on the new computer with your Apple ID.
2. Make sure you turn off auto sync in iTunes
3. Connect your iPad to iTunes via USB and when it is recognized, right click on the device from the Device list on the left of your iTunes page and choose transfer purchases.
4. Once purchases are transfered and you have authorized the iTunes account, you should be able to sync.

I have my AIR plugged into another monitor and after it goes to sleep sometimes it sounds like the system is running and it will not come back up.. I have to restart it. What is this.. Please help

Go into Sys. Pref , and power settings and UNcheck "put hard disks to sleep" on both power tab and battery tab.
When on projector use with your Air and a presentation, dont close the monitor or sleep your Air.
Verify any coincident applications running that can/could conflict with projector / sleep occurrence by running Etrecheck:

ICloud will not work properly on new iPad

I just got new iPad, it was set up in the store , went home to finish setting it up, completed update, then it automatically started synching , but I cloud would not complete set up, it said , unable to complete , timed out. Now I can't get iTunes or Internet even though I have wifi.

The connection with the icloud server may have been interrupted during the setup. This could've been on the icloud end, or the wifi/internet at your location.
Reboot your wifi router.
then....
Make Sure iOS is updated to the latest version
Reboot the device by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings
Try again...

Very very short battery life - will not hold charge on new ipad mini retina, HELP

My iPad mini retina OS7 will not hold it's battery charge. I have turned off Location services, do not have apps running in multitude task mode and do not have Bluetooth on. I close all aps and the smart case and come back in an hour and find charge will still have gone down 10 to 30%

Otherwise if they don't help take it to an Apple store if possible, they should be able to confirm if the battery is worn oout or some other fault.

My iTunes purchased movies will not sync to the New iPad(3) even though I have an HD version and an SD version. Are there specs somewhere for media files?

I have purchased a few movies in iTunes on the MacBook Pro and after dowloading, I am not able to sync them to my new iPad. I look at the contents of the download and I have an HD file and an SD file, I assumed it would sync the SD file automatically if it cannot handle the HD on the device (although it should be able to).
What are the different reasons a movie won't sync to iPad (frame rate, file size, definition, etc.) and what are the options to make these files compatable with my iPad? Can I rip them again or run them through a conversion utility? Is there a setting in iTunes somewhere I am missing?
Is there a post somewhere thatr already covers this? If so, I can't find it. Would be great to have a baseline of what can be handled by device so I can figure out how to make my media compatable.

handbrake is a free program which does this for you
itunes used to be able to too when I right clicked incompatible media but don't see the option any more

The approval request I need to authorise iCloud keychain does not arrive on my new iPad. Ive tried using the authorisation code sent to my phone but an error appears saying it cannot connect to the cloud.

I have a new iPad. I cannot get an approval notification to appear on the iPad to set it up after turning it on on Yosemite. Ive tried the approval code but that generates an error saying it can't connect to the cloud.

Ok, I have to say I was really impressed by the effort. Nokia Support (in The Philippines) called me 4 times over the last 2 days to help with my phone.
Here is there responses have put them in order of my questions.
1. I am to reinstall the operating system on the phone. They said that this is the most likely (but not confirmed) fix to the SIM card problem (although they would not confirm it was a problem with the phone).
2. No answer because we did not get that far.
3. To setup a gmail IMAP account you MUST us Nokia messaging. Period. Since I have security concerns, that is out of the question.
4. This is the big one that stopped it. The Nokia N8 is a Class B cell phone meaning that you cannot use data and voice at the same time. They told me that all Nokia phones were Class B, but I told them my E71 is not. After research, I found that the E71 and E72 is Class A (Can do voice and data at the same time) and that the N8 is Class B. Here is an article explaining the difference. This was a deal breaker. I cannot access the internet while I am on a call. Reminds me of a dial up modem.
5. Reinstall the software and it might fix it.
6. No answer.
7. Use Nokia Messaging.

So, I am sending the phone back because I cannot use it. I cannot imagine a smart phone on the market that cannot do internet and voice at the same time.
Too bad.The N8 is a terrific camera and you should buy it for that, but look elsewhere for a smartphone.

When troubleshooting we look to see if the problem is local or global. Again, you may very well know this so apologies. Anyway, if you haven't already, then please create another account on your Mac. You should do this anyway, actually everybody should. (The Tim knows). So test to see if the problem exists in the other account as well. I name the extra account maint and make it an admin account. If you find that it prints normally with the maint account, that is good, because it just means that one or more of your local account preferences are munged in the primary account. Global on the other hand is a bit more work to solve. If that's the case you can try reinstalling the operating system. In most cases that will overwrite the low level culprit and put you back in the sweet zone. Let me know how it goes, it's an interesting problem. I like those. Especially when they aren't mine. ;-)
I have been supporting Ma cs for a very very long time. If IICX rings a bell. Anyway, just reinstalling the OS over the top is pretty quick. However, we techs like to find the little sucker that's causing the problem and we can spend many hours scouring to locate it. It's a challenge to us not to let the computer get the better of us. Win. But the reality of it is often a simple OS reinstall will get you back in the game. Beyond that is a hardware problem concern. To me from what you describe it sounds software to me. So don't worry too much about that at this point.
