Updated software to 1.1.3 and now getting disk error message

When I try to sync I get a message that reads:
Attempting to copy to the disk "Ipod name" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to.
Can I restore the ipod software to the previous version? If so, how?

See if this troubleshooting article helps.

    Hello queenabs,
It sounds like you are trying to burn a playlist to a disc in iTunes, but you are getting the error, "disc burner or software not found."  I found a couple of resources that I think might help with an error like this.
I recommend starting with the steps in this article:

You're trying to update an application that's running, perhaps in another account. Make sure you quit all apps that are to be updated. If another user is logged in under Fast User Switching or Screen Sharing, he or she must do the same.

An unknown error occured (4002)" I click on OK and I have no problem with iTunes opening and playing anything but how can I get rid of this annoying message? I'm not even trying to get into the iTunes Store.

I tried to photograph my calendar page to send to someone.  Now, my calendar keeps getting a constant window - error message #403 - giving me options that don't work.  Hard to use the calendar for dates and appointments.  Help!

Since you never changed the settings in the advanced section of iTunes preferecnes, you have to chech that your music is really in the location setted in the folders reported in the advanced section.  If not you have 2 ways: reset the position of this folders or in the actual disk organisation or in the pointing on the preferences.
If you press the reset button you just give to itunes its default setting as for the position of the music files: probably this will be a good choice if you have never changed any default preference.
But before I would check the folders and see if the songs are really there
In my iTune I have this, and I believe it is the default.

  • I recently tried to update iTunes to 11.1, and am now getting an error message "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.d11 was not found."  I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes multiple times.  Am running Windows XP Svc Pack 3.  help

I recently tried to update iTunes to 11.1, and am now getting an error message "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."  I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times with no success.  I am running Windows XP Svc Pack 3.  Help please.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

My ipod needs to be restore and I get a error message saying :ipod software update server coud not be contacted.

    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then tap Settings > General > Software Update
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • Hi, I updated my version of iTunes and now get the error "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer".

Hi, I hope some one can help as I updated my version of iTunes and now get the error "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer". I understand that I need to delete and reinstall iTunes but all of my music has been uploaded from CD's and I'd like to know if these are safe if I delete iTunes of if they too will be deleted. I have over 1300 songs so this is a big question for me.  Many thanks.

Under normal circumstances, an uninstall/reinstall doesn't touch your content. (That being said, it's still always a good idea to maintain a current backup at all times in case of disasters of any sort.)
First try updating to iTunes 11.1.5.5, using an installer downloaded from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you still get the errors after that, try the following user tip:

Had to restore my macbook to original operating system that came with the computer when purchased in the spring of 2008. I am now trying to complete a software update to mac os x 10.5.8 and i get an error message stating "The installer could not validate the contents of the "MacOSXUpdCombo 10.5.8" package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.

    That's usually a bad download.

  • After updating to itunes 10 i now get an error message saying there is a problem with the windows insaller package - I have tried all the suggestions but nothing works for me - have I lost all my itunes forever?

After updating to itunes 10 I now get an error message that says there is a problem with the windows installer package. I have tried all the things that others suggested but cannot download itunes at all now. Have I lost itunes forever?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) (not for XP) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Trying to update iTunes and i get an error message saying something about "invalid signature". Help?

" The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. I tried to uninstall iTunes, and it would not uninstall. Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
