Updated to 5.0.1 ios and now it still keeps asking me for my password, which i dont know...

I was running ios 4.2.1 or something close to that and then decided to update to 5.0.1 because the games i wanted to play were not compatible with the ios i had before. Prior to updating i had changed my password and then forgotten it. I was hoping that updating would wipe the password, but it didn't and now i still can't remember what it is... Any help?

Restore...
From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.

That is the activation lock. Your iPad will be useless unless you can remove it.

I assume you mean the phone is asking for the 4 digit password you set at the time of the backup of the phone...

Updating or upgrading depends on what version of OS X you are running. A G5 Mac can not go further than Leopard 10.5.8 as all later versions of OS X require an Intel preocessor.

Outlook 2003 and my modem connection keeps asking me for my password!

And it's getting REALLY annoying to have to type this in everytime.
Modem keeps asking me for my WEP, which is already saved in the settings.
Outlook 2003 (Vista) keeps asking me for my password for receiving and sending email everytime. This password is ALSO saved in the settings. Oh, and then I get an error message stating it cannot perform these functions.
This never used to happen during dial-up when I had it. This is excruciatingly annoying.
With outlook, it was happening on and off, but now consistently.
Modem, just started today.

If your backup is encrypted, you cannot restore without the password.
You can continue to backup but you cannot restore without password.
There's no way to retrieve the password.
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.

Any content is tied to the account that you used to buy/download it - so if you created a new account as opposed to updating the existing one, then you will need to use the old account to download updates to its apps. Can you not update your old account so as to have a new email address on it (e.g. via this page) ?

I would suggest you try to update your iOS 8.0.2 to the latest iOS 8.1.0 with iTunes on your computer. Don't try to do the update on your iPhone, it takes time and some error always occur. You can't. Apps and really all content purchased/downloaded through one Apple ID is forever tied to that Apple ID. In the case of Apps they will always request that Apple ID to update as they are licensed to that Apple ID.
In reality, the Apps were licensed to that Apple ID by the developer. And cannot simply be given away to you for you to use.
He should have wiped the iPod clean so you could set it up for your use without any of his accounts or purchased content as you are not really licensed to any of those Apps.

Exactly! The password I used to log on here and write my post I figured was the same Apple ID password I would use to reset my computer login password. But my computer isn't recognizing it as the correct password so it wont let me update my login password. I have 2 user accounts on my computer.

If you intend to keep using iCloud on your iPad, your best course of action would be to update your Apple ID/iCloud information so that you have a known password and it is associated with an active email address. You may find the following articles helpful:
