Updated to firefox 8. now some favicons are not displaying, either on site or in bookmarks.

I am running Win 7 Ultimate. After updating to Firefox 8 some favicons are not displaying, either on websites or in my bookmarks.

I have the same problem, but note: the problem is NOT that the dotted-line box is showing up per se; it's that favicons that used to appear on bookmarks no longer do so, even though a valid favicon exists for that Web site, and even though I visit the Web site again by clicking on that link and even though about:config confirms that favicons should be showing up.
In other words, favicons are not being saved or refreshed; they are all turning to the dotted box icon and staying that way, no matter what.
To repeat, the dotted-line icon is not the problem; it's the loss of favicons that appeared properly in FF7 and the failure in FF8 to update favicons after clicking on links.
In a possibly related bug, the Adblock Plus icon no longer appears in the Navigation Toolbar, even though about:config confirms that it should and even though the option to display in the Navigation Bar is checked and even though an icon does appear in the Status Bar and even though the add-on is installed and otherwise working normally.

If you moved them to your iPad then they will have been removed from your Mac. Elements Organizer - some WMV are not displayed properly in the Play Video but are in Play Vide on Full screen. What's the problem? Wrong codec?

Because WMV's can contain a lot of flags, like DRM, they can exhibit odd behavior, indeed.
Usually, AV files will display in their native resolution, i.e. in their set Frame Size/Aspect Ratio and with their set PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio), but sometimes those flags are missed, or are altered by other programs.
Remember, WMV's are designed to be streaming delivery-only, and are not intended, or designed to be edited. Most NLE's (Non Linear Editors) will allow them to be edited, but will require extra processing to do so. As is mentioned, WMM is designed around editing that delivery-only format, but most others are not.
There are many other formats/CODEC's, that ARE designed to be edited by the vast majority of NLE's, such as DV-AVI Type II's.
The best workflow is to NOT bring WMV's into the mix, unless one is using WMM exclusively. Converting those to an easily editable format/CODEC will always be the best course of action.

For the release of iOS 6 last fall Apple decided to replace the Google Maps app with Apples own Maps app. That is why you are seeing these changes. A new Google Maps app was released for the iPhone but on an iPad you need to go to Google.com, select Maps and then create a Home Screen bookmark that will allow you to quickly get to Google Maps.

My favicons are not showing up for all my imported bookmarks as well as certain current bookmarks and when I open the about:config it says "browser.chrome.favicons;false". Shouldn't this be true and how to I change it?

I had to rebuild my computer and when I imported all of my bookmarks they had no favicons. I started getting some of the favicons when I would go to the websight it would reconnect, but now I can't seem to see almost any of them. I did a search on Google and one tech site suggested the about:config file and that the "browser.chrome.favicons;false" should be set to true. But when I toggle it to true and restart Firefox it is once more set to false. I know it doesn't seem like much, but it is really annoying not having those favicons.

The browser.chrome.favicons preference should be set to true, as it is not retaining the value when you restart Firefox, see the [[Preferences are not saved]] article for possible causes.

Since updating to Firefox 4, why is my website not displaying properly?

I think that is is caused because you place a block element (DIV) in an inline element (A)<br />
You can't do that.<br />
It works if I disable the HTML5 parser, but with HTML5 enabled I see an extra A tag and all A tags are closed and reopened.

I imported a set of tables into the modeler that is in Jdeveloper. There are some foreign key constraints that are not being displayed with a line although the constraint is there if I look at the table's properties.

-Yes, the tables were all imported at the same time.
The schema is propietry, so I can't not release it. It would take me quite bit of effort to remove the propietry information, so I don't think I'll be able to provide the code. If I have free time in a week or so, I'll consider shrubbing it and sending it to you.
Anyways, here is a descrption ofthe behavior of Jdeveloper when the error ocurrs, a simple description of the DDL, and details on the constraints on the tables where the problem occurs:
1) I use the import wizard to get all of the tables imported to a off-line set at the same time. Sometimes a table will get imported without a tablename. Sometimes a blank line is in the list of table names, but all of the tables are there. When the blank line error occurs I get the problem with the missing relationship line in the diagram.
2) Create blank diagram.
3) Select all tables. Since there is a blank line in the list of table names, I have to use the control key to select all of the tables.
4) Drag all of the selected tables onto the diagram.
5) Only one relation is does not display in the diagram with a line although the details of the relation is there if I look in the properties for the table. The relationship that has the problem is a foreign key relationship from a table A to table B named PRE_SMD_FK that is listed below. Table A is different from other tables in the schema because it has a circle constraint which is also listed below.

Some reports are not displayed in Windows Vista and IE9

Hi,
as the title says, I had a problem with Windows Vista.
I'm using CR2008, VS2008, and .NET 3.5 to develop web form.
So, in every computer (WXP, W7) with IE9 works fine, but in Win Vista, some reports are displaying in a wrong way.

Some reports are not displayed -- JInitiator 1.3.17 to JRE 1.6.43

We have our Medical Suite developed using Oracle Forms 10gR1(9.0.4) version.As we came to know that JInitiator is no more supported from Oracle and it has many problems Windows 7 64 bit esp.., with IE (9.0) recently we have migrated the Client PC's from JInitiator 1.3.17 to JRE 1.6.43.
Unfortunately when we print the reports, some of the reports are being displayed and the other reports are not being displayed ( No action upon on clicking print button).
But when we revert back to JInitiator all the reports are working fine without any change in IE configuration. So can someone give me the probable cause for this behaviour.

Why after exporting PDF to Word some characters are not displaying accurately.

Search boxes are not displaying properly on sites (eztv and isohunt for example) the search buttons are there, the imput boxes are not.

I have been noticing on various sites that search boxes are not being displayed, seems to be happening on torrent sites but it could be more widespread. I have disabled all add ons, running Firefox 4 beta on Windows 7 x64. I have linked some screen captures

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

I recently went through and cleared my startup disk because it was full, now some websites are not loading.....I must have deleted something but don't have any idea where to start with this. Any suggestions?
