Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps..
But... if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work. -

Updated to iOS 7.1 and my location arrow won't turn off. It used to. Any ideas? Help would be appreciated!
Check in Settings > Privacy > Location Services to see which apps are using Location Services. Turn off those you don't want or need.
Also be sure to close apps you are not using by double=tapping the Home button and swiping apps up. -
I have updated my Imac to Mavericks and now my parallells won't work and I have reinstalled as per the instructions. Please help as all my data is on a hardrive that is formatted for PC.
Yes I just discovered that this morning but I have purchased another external harddrive and formatted it for both and am in the process of transferring the files across it and then I will erase the old harddrive and reformat it so I can use it.
I have learnt to format harddrives from this experience but am happy to see the back of parallells.
Thank you for your help though it is much appreciated. -
Phone crashed, re set to factory settings now iMessage from phone number won't work
Hey all,
So my iPhone 5s had some sort of mini crash and long story short it went into recovery mode when I plugged it in to my Macbook. I had to reset the phone to factory settings and go through that entire to-do. After restoring my phone, I thought every thing was working fine and imessage was working as well. But then someone tells me that they can't send me imessages to my phone number but instead have been texting me through my email address connected to my apple ID.
I go into settings and messages, imessage was turned on and I looked at the send and receive section. However there is no send section, just a "you can be reached at" section. My email address is checked and my phone number is faded (and unclickable) and does not have a check mark next to it. I've tried turning imessage on and off, obviously, but it tells me there is a problem activating imessage (although when I hit ok it continues to wait for activation). I'm not sure if this detail is important but I am currently abroad and connecting over wifi (which is extremely strong). When I go into imessage on my laptop , my number isn't listed at all as well.
Someone please help. I am currently abroad for another week and imessage is very important for contacting people back home. Thank you.iMessage activation requires an SMS to be sent to the Apple Servers in the UK. IF you do not have a cellular connection, that could answer why it is not activating. You can check this support document for help with activation of iMessage. iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime and iMessage activation
If you are using Wi-Fi only, that would also explain why it would not be activating the phone number. -
Woke up this morning and looked at my phone. Found an error message saying "iPhone cannot make or recieve calls, please restore through iTunes". So before restoring it I checked the support website to see if there was anything else I could do before I had no other choice than to restore the phone. Followed everything, found the phone still wouldn't work or recieve signal. I restored the phone and now it wouldn't activate, so called Apple and explained to them. Tried everything I was told, (Call my network, original network provider of phone, restore again, try recovery mode, activating with a different SIM card, absolutely everything) and still the phone wont activate. Apple have bent over backwards for me to try solve this but have had no luck, so if anyone else has experienced this and had any luck fixing it can you please share any info with me as I'm now effectively stuck in a contract without a phone or an option to renew the phone or one to put my SIM card into. iTunes also thinks 6.1.3 is the latest software but I have seen users with 6.1.4
The phone is an iPhone 4 16GB originally locked to Orange UK but has been working fine with a T-mobile UK SIM.
I've spent a couple of hours looking on the Internet and had no luck at all so any replies would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. Are there any other errors that you are receiving? The exact error helps. You say it was locked to Orange, did they unlock the device? Or did you do something else to make the device work with the other SIM. There are a number of issues regarding activation, and many deal with trying to activate a device that has been locked to a carrier, hacked to work with another and then locked back when the device is updated. Would any of this pertain to you?

Updated to 10.8.5 and now app store won't work?
I have just updated my Mac 10 version 10.8.5 and now it is saying that the App Store won't work with this version. Itunes also won't open as this obviously hasn't updated properly either.
Has anyone else had this problem? I don't seem to be able to reinstall the App Store either?Try the following....
Mountain Lion Recovery
Boot up from your computer by holding down the command+r keys. This will take you to the recovery drive.
Select Disk Utility & hit Return.
In Disk Utility select the HD on the left & click on Repair Disk (bottom right).
When done, repair permissions from your desktop DU and restart your computer. Check SU for further updates.
Post back your results. -
Could you please help me to fix my iPhone 4S
After the latest update we've had to iOS 6, I was not able to use FaceTime, it kept giving me an error that I was supposed to wait for an activation code which never arrived, after that I read many solutions which included resetting the networks, which I did to try and fix my problem. What this actually did was to break my network settings an now it doesn't recognize any wifi signal unless I have the router next to me and even the it is difficult.
Now I don't have FaceTime or access to wifi with my iPhone!
Please help me!Do a factory reset .. nothing will be deleted from your backups and you will be able to get access to them again.
The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility. -

I am currently living in Canada (but I am from the UK).
I lost my iphone 4S 32GB a couple of weeks ago and I need to try and prove to my insurance company that the iphone was a 32GB.
I was told by an apple store near where i live that the original store where i purchased my iphone may be able to find records on my phone and print out a receipt for me. I can't get through to the Covent Garden apple store in london (where i brought the phone), because the automated phone system that apple uses doesn't seem to like long distance phone calls.
Is there an email for the covent garden store, or for apple uk? I tried toi chat to an apple advisor online, but because of my location i got put through to apple USA.https://selfserve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
I noticed an error for some reason, the last two characters should have been do rather than co. -

I upgraded to IOS 5.1 and the phone doesn't work right
I upgraded my phone to IOS 5.1 and the phone functionality doesn't work right. If I make a call, once connected I go back to the main menu and can't get to the phone controls (including the ones to hang up). If I receive a call, the wheel comes up, the phone does not ring and I can't answer it. I tried restoring the phone, but that did not work. Does anyone have any ideas?
Press the camera icon and slide it up.

i tried to install an update of my ios via itunes and my phone was totally cleared. right now im trying to activate it again, its not working. what can i do?
You will need to restore the software via the following procedure:
Turn your device off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your device and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a device in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
