Updated to ios 7 cannot get mail the connection server failed

I updated to ios 7 yesterday and today I keep getting "cannot get mail the connection server failed". Also the safari gets stuck or takes awhile to load the page

Was there ever a response/solution to this? There's plenty of occasions where this seems to have happened but this thread is exactly what's happening to me. I am currently in Spain and trying to use Yahoo mail.
My mail is updating occasionally but if i try to force an update i get "cannot get mail...the connection to the server failed". Also if i try to send and email i get "a copy has been placed in your outbox....the connection to the outgoing server apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com failed...additional servers can....."
I checked my mail settings and the defined server isn't prefixed with "apple".

I have trouble with sending e-mail and syncing e-mail. Try changing to 1 day sync under settings. It's sluggish but it works for me until they resolve the issue. MS claims all is normal. If you still have a problem you should report it here: https://status.live.com/report/hotmail

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Hotmail has been having problems with mobile devices for several days now. It's not a problem with your phone.

My iphone 5 everytime i go into mail it comes up with - Cannot get Mail - the connection to the server failed- i then have to click ok - I am still receiving mail - it is driving me mad having to click this everytime - anybody else had the same ?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're seeing an alert message when opening Mail on your iOS devices. Do you have multiple email accounts setup on the devices? Take a look at the article below, it provides suggestions that will resolve most issues that cause an alert like that to appear in when starting the Mail app.

An iOS fluke or mail app glitch maybe. Not sure anyone will know why you get it. Do you're ever close the mail app? Try closing it and reset the iPad and see if the message goes away.
Assuming that you are running iOS 7, in order to close apps, you drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Mail app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.
If none of the above suggestions work, look at this link.

The iPad's Mail app has no provisions for creating groups. However, you canuse a third party app that many users recommend.

Getting: "cannot get mail the connection to the server failed"

I have been getting this message -
"cannot get mail the connection to the server failed"
for about a week now. iPhone is 3G,16GB, version 2.1.
When I try to connect to my companies Exchange server.
Was working great. Then all of a sudden this happened.
I have tried from both the 3G Network, companies internal wireless, and my wireless at home, all with same result.
I have several friends who have the same phone and they reported getting the same thing, but theres is more extensive... not able to get to Gmail accounts either...
I have done some research on this, and find that others are getting the errors as well, seems to coinside with some update, I checked with our exchange admin and they have made no changes to the Exchange servers.
We also tried to delete the accounts from the phones, and recreate, no change, still same error.
Anyone know why this is doing this?

We ran windows updates on the mail server a weekend or so before this problem on the 28th. One of the updates was a DNS fix that expanded the dynamic port range dns is using. Problem was, in it’s infinite wisdom, MS allowed this range change to include 2883, the AUTD or active sync port. So we had to do a registry change to exclude the port for Active sync only. Lately, when I pull up my emails a popup tells me "Cannot Get Mail, the connection to the server failed." Yet, emails deposit in my Inbox. What is going on?

It sounds like you can receive emails, but you still get an error saying that Mail could not get your mail.
I would recommend this troubleshooting from the article named iOS: Unable to send or receive email found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3899
Restart the iOS device.
Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage to ensure that the device has Internet access. If you're unable to load a webpage, try the Wi-Fi assistant.
Try an alternative Internet connection.
If your email is provided by your Internet provider, try connecting from the home network.
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, try to disable Wi-Fi: Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If not, try a different Wi-Fi network.
Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Delete the account from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then add the email account again on the iOS device.
While the title of the article is about different symptoms, the troubleshooting portion is relevant.
