Updated to IOS5 & Email Now Not Working

I've just updated by iPhone 4 to IOS5, and all of a sudden one of my three email accounts will not retrieve email [message stating 'Username / Password Incorrect].
The username or password has not changed so I don't know what's happened! Help!

The same thing happened to me after updating to iOS 5.  I found that location services had been disabled and I had to go into the Restrictions panel to enable it.  Listed below are the steps that I did to enable it.
Open Settings
Open General
Open Restrictions and enter passcode
Scroll down to Allow Changes and select Location
Select Allow Changes and enable Location Services.

  • Gmail emails now not working - SMTP error?

    Hi there,
    We have been using gmail (normal) as our mail system.
    It has been working fine for almost 2 years. Until today.
    Last night I changed my business catalyst password for security and now I can't send any mail as they are all coming back.
    (ourbusinesscatalystsite.com is for reference, I have replaced them with our actual site)
    Technical details of permanent failure:
    Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the relay mail.ourbusinesscatalystsite.com by mail.ourbusinesscatalystsite.com [64.98.36.5].
    The error that the other server returned was:
    535 5.7.8 Error: authentication failed: Authentication failed (SMTP AUTH failed with the remote server)
    The funny think is we also have another 2 gmails and they are set up exactly the same and still work fine. I've updated my password and kept every detail the same as the other gmails and mine wont work.
    I have it set up as gmail - Send mail as:
    Email = my BC email
    Treat as alias
    send through ourbusinesscatalystsite.com SMTP servers
    SMTP Server = mail.ourbusinesscatalystsite.com
    Port 465
    username = BC email to login
    password = BC password (new)
    Secured connection using SSL
    but it keeps saying:
    Authentication failed. Please check your username/password.
    [Server response: 535 5.7.8 Error: authentication failed: Authentication failed code(535) ]
    Does anyone know what's going on. I've tried all the other connections and all the other ports and I'm getting all error messages.
    It's worked fine for years so I just don't get what's changed (other than my password which it wont let me update).

    All good - I fixed it.
    Your email login into BC is different to the webmail email. (Even through the same email address!)
    I logged into to BC normally then went to Email accounts - then clicked on Send Password recovery e-mail, updated it, reloaded the above gmail settings with my new password (which is now the same as my login into BC) and it worked!

    I had my tour replaced under warranty. I backed up the old one. I restore the new phone...everything looked fine...everything there but NOW my new phone wont send or receive email. Both accounts (charter and gmail) shows on the phone but they dont get or receive email. I tried the resend books and reregister phone.... it still doesnt work at all. (neither charter or gmail)...text and internet are fine.

    The only real thing you can do is to continue to resend the service books...
    Or go to OPtions > Advanced > Service Books and delete those currently installed that have your email address in them.
    Reboot:  With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
    Then resent the books again.

    I updated my itouch4g to ios5 last night and everything works fine except for the location service. I tried rebooting, restoring, restarting a few times but to no avail. I do have wifi at home and I've used this ever since I bought my device. Can anyone give me an advice on what I should do? No location service icon is showing on all applications.

    1. quit and relaunch Disk Utility still no joy
    2. login as another user - no joy
    3. try removing iTunes packages - no joy
    4. restart Tiger Server- no joy

    yeah, now we have the answer to your question, I didnt have time to include this tactic in my previous post:
    a. load Tiger DVD client disk into Mac mini hosting Tiger Server 10.4.5
    b. launch Disk Utility
    c. click Verify Perms
    d. DU finds various problems, finishes stating it repaired them
    e. click Verify Perms again
    f. DU finds various problems, finishes stating it repaired them
    g. click Verify Perms again
    h. DU find no problems, finishes stating it repaired them
    So, restart this Tiger Server with its own hard drive, then run DU from that hard drive: same error message once again
    Perhaps this is a benign error ?

    Try this:
    Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    See if you are able to connect now.

    Which version of mac os x do you have?
    Which version of photoshop are you using?
    Do you get any message when you try to open the files into photoshop?
    Did you use Nikon Transfer to get the files from your camera to computer?
    Did you try the File>Get Photos From Camera in Adobe Bridge?

    If you are having issues with your iPhone’s camera not functioning, you may want to troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

    Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
    If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
    If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
    Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
    Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
    Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
    Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
    Try to remain steady while focusing:
    Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
    Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
    Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.

    Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if you can then send emails

    Verizon is not doing that it is the mail that is doing that.
    Check your device settings for email and read the owners manual as to how to set up mail to download. How you want it, leave on server, etc.
