Updated to iTunes 11.2 on OSX 10.9.3 but it now hangs

I updated to iTunes 11.2 on OSX 10.9.3 after being prompted by Software Update but it now hangs and despite resetting PRAM and restarting, using Disk Utility to both repair permissions and disk, issue still persists.  Tried to trash iTunes but not allowed.  Any suggestions?

THanks for the help but unfortunatley the upgrade still hasn't fixed the issue.  iTunes still hangs and I have no idea what to do next...

Tell us some version numbers please, of your Mac OS versions and iTunes versions on both computers (two eMacs yes?).

That is a pretty good guess.Try updating the second eMac's iTunes to at least the version that was on the first.

I don't fully understand what the System Reset does but I've found that it cures many ills.  It's easy, quick and harmless:
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.
A System Reset does not remove any apps, music, movies, etc. nor does it cause any settings to revert back to default.

Lets see whether this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
    Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

Ok, I found the answer on my own. The problem is on the Microsoft side. Just update your windows and that will do. I have been not updating my windows for some time and the accumulated update is almost 1GB+ . After I update, I can open the iTunes again fine.

  • HT1369 Since we updated our Itunes to 10.7 we've had nothing but problems, first we lost all our music (luckily I was able to recover it) but now it won't find my phone when I plug it in. Has anyone else had this issue?

Has anyone out there been having any problems with Itunes since updating Itunes.  First it lost all our music (which I recovered), now it won't find my phone when I plug it in.

I hate to say it, but Apple is literally infamous for teething problems on new releases. It's usually fixed in two days, though that fix usually gets fixed, too, so sometimes a week, but does means downloading new updates.
My (experienced) advice? Wait a couple of days, check for updates, try again. Pray (or whatever works for you) that you don't have the "lost Apple Device Driver" problem several people are having.
I keep an older version of iTunes installer on a backup drive (or just in my downloads folder), just for such events. Worst-case, I've always been able to uninstall iTunes (including driver and user info), then install my old version of iTunes and roll on. Yes, my iTunes folder is on an external hard drive, so I can move it around to my different computers, and then keep a backup of that hard drive on a second external hard drive. Saves me a ton of headaches.

  • Just updated to Itunes 11.0.2 (recent one) in Windows 8 and now it will not launch (not even in safe Mode)

I see in the task manager several itunes process are running but that is about it.  Anyone else having this provlem?
    Thanks,

You need to reinstall as the App is missing key support frameworks.
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • I just did an update of iTunes for my iPhone3 and my phone turned off and now I cannot turn it back on. What has happened?

How do I get it working, I have to go to bed and use it as my alarm to wake up for work!  Help!!!

It's pretty difficult to offer much in the way of advice when you don't provide much in the way of detail, but perhaps this will help:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
If not, you may have purchased somone's defective iPhone in which case you'll need to go back to the seller, or pay Apple's out-of-warranty replacement charge for an exchange.
    Regards.

    Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

    I'm in the same boat.
Tried uploading to iOS7 on my laptop. It looked like it was working, but then said I needed to restore my phone. I did. Now I have a phone that won't turn on, won't "activate".
So I switch to my desktop, just to get my phone turned on again and working. Try to install iTunes 11.1 and get this message:
The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1102.)(102)

  • Problems accessing iTunes store with Mac OSX 10.4.11

I am trying to access the iTunes store using Mac OSX 10.4.11 but it tells me to download the new version of iTunes. When I try to do that it says that the new version of iTunes is not supported by 10.4.11. What am I doing wrong? Do I actually need to buy the upgrade from 10.4.11 in order to buy stuff from iTunes again.
    Thanks

    Try using iTunes 9.2.1.

  • Can't download the latest update for iTunes

    Hi,
I tried to download the sofware update for itunes 10.6.3 for my MacBook Pro, but as soon as the download begins, it stops and I get an error message saying: "The update 'iTunes' can't be installed", and also "The update could not be verified..." and so on. How can I get the sofware update to download then? Help anyone?
    Thanks,
    Ilan.

I'd try updating using a .dmg installer downloaded from the Apple Website:

  • Podcast not updating in iTunes application

My podcast shows up fine in my RSS feed on my server.  It shows up fine in the iTune Store.
My podcast is NOT showing up in my iTunes Application feed and shows the like there is a broken link somewhere when I try to "Update Podcast".
    My RSS feed:
    feed://www.nathan-russell.com/ovs/ovs.xml
    iTunes preview:
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-overnight-variety-show/id420386052
I recently updated my feed with 2 new episodes on August 22nd, 2011.  Normally it doesn't take 4 days to update in my iTunes Application.  I've previously used the email that Apple sent upon approval of my podcast to ping my server and "update" my iTunes Application to show the most recent additions but the link they provided in that email ( https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?id=420386052 ) has stopped working as well.
Please help me determine why my updated RSS feed is not showing up in the subscription to my own podcast within the iTunes Application itself.
    Thank you kindly!

You have rendered your feed invalid. 'Episode 16 - promo' contains two unescaped ampersands, one in the 'itunes:summary' tag and once in the 'description' tag"
'A.J. Finney, Dallas Orbiter & Jesse Joyce.'
An ampersand by itself indicates the start of a code sequence which is never terminated, thus rendering the entire feed unreadable.
Oddly enough, this text appears successfully in the iTunes Store page: did you change it to the uncoded ampersand at a later stage? Usually this mistake stops the Store page updating as soon as it's in the feed.
You need to replace both ampersands with the code & or the word 'and'. Once you do this the feed will work.
The 'ping' facility has been withdrawn from the iTunes Store for some time now (I'm not convinced that it ever worked anyway) - you just have to wait for the Store to update in its own time (usually 1-2 days).

  • Problem updating my iTunes

It keeps show a "check network settings are correct and network is active" what should I do I want to update my iTunes and its been showing this message for a while now.

This is not hard to solve. You need to make sure you uninstall all iTunes components (along with iTunes) by following precisely this support page:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
Next, restart your PC and reinstall iTunes from here:
