magicperfs - un-install using the developer’s instructions to make sure you remove all parts of the application. Some people recommend not installing an application unless you know how to remove it. Then try re-installing it.

Thank you so much! I didn't know that you could do that. I just followed your instructions and there was a bunch of stuff on there. I will see if this works! I assumed that it was due to something like the virtual memory on my computer, but I didn't know how to fix it. I didn't even see that in the manual. I am trying to upgrade to OS X Mavericks but when I click on download, nothing happens. It shows as purchased but nothing is happening. I have the MacBook Pro Late 2011 model. I am unable to load any new apps because it says that I don't have the latest OS version. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would appreciate it! Thanks

A technician here was able to reload the original OS but all my pictures, files and contacts were
sent God knows where !
I should have done a back up, so I learned my lesson the hard way !
What really annoyed me was that this is an Apple program, so I wrongly assumed it would be a safe download.

He told me that others in our small town had experienced the same problem, and since we live in a small community of about 6000, I wonder how many others have had this problem in more populated centers ?
Everything is thankfully up and running again ( at great expense in time and money ) but I will exercise more jurisprudence in future offers for any upgrades! -

My iPhone says that I don't have enough storage to update one of my apps so I went to delete stuff that I didn't need but every time I select what I want to delete my phone freezes, goes back to the home screen and doesn't delete anything.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

After working correctly since I started using the iMac Firefox now say that I do not have the privileges to have it auto update the Firefox. I don't think I changed anything.

== Since last updateWell, running on a 2006 model. I did not have a startup disc. Initially, it booted up on original software in 2006. Since then, I've upgraded to 10.6 via a box set. And, since then I think I popped it up to lion.
All I have on a disc is snow leopard. And, I can't get farther than the setup screen due to hard drive. I'm taking to a apple authorized repair store right now. We'll see what they tell me . I'm just going to weigh the cost of repair vs. buying new.
Another bad, stupid thing is I had no means of backing up my stuff. So, I might have lost things like music, vids, etc. we'll see if they can recover. If the cost is too much for repair I might just forget it and start over with a new system. Just not sure at this point. -
I have downloaded the recent apple tv update however it is now asking me to connect to iTunes via USB. I don't have this cord and have never connected to iTunes this way before. Only even via wifi. Does anyone know how I can bypass this
No, you can't by-pass it. If you are getting this error message it mean something has gone amiss with the update and it needs to be connected to itunes to fix it. The USB it needs is a standard Micro USB to USB cable, the kind used by most digital cameras and readily available from any electronics or discount store.

When I try to open my downloaded photos from a DVD through finder the computer says that I don't have permission to view the files.
This is something that has just happened recently.Copy the images to your Pictures folder or Desktop and then try again.
If that doens't work, then do #6 here, (Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs)
that will set the permissions to you.

Mac Running Slow - Etrecheck attached - Pls Help!
Hi,
My Mac has been running painfully slow recently. This all started when i had almost used up all my memory. I purchased a hard drive and copied files over to create more space, however my Mac is still running slow. I get the beach ball all the time when trying to do most things which is frustrating. I use Logic and Serato on my Mac and never had a problem before the start up disk got full! I thought by removing data it would resolve the problem but it has not. When i updated to Mavericks my Mac was running fine as was Logic.
I have done a Etrecheck and attached below to hopefully shed some light on the problem.

Updated from Mavericks to Yosemite - application slowed down
I updated from Mavericks to Yosemite (Dec. 2014) on my new Mac Mini (bought in July 2014). All application slow down while loading, while working, while saving, etc.
