Updated to OSX Mavericks on iMac and now unable to access internet on iPhone or iPad.

iMac seems to be working ok, but would like to know how to get my ipad and phone working again please.

Were you using your Mac as the wifi hot spot? If so, the settings might of been changed during the install.
Double check to see if your Mac is putting out a wifi signal and check your Sharing prefernces.

    Itunes updated to 10.6.3 and now it will not recognize my iPhone or iPad.  I have tried uninstalling itunes and the amds following steps provided on the support site.  Still nothing.  My computer does show both as cameras though.  Any ideas?

    There has to be a fix without doing that.
    You're not using any sort of hub or extender are you? iTunes doesn't always like that.
    Tried different USB ports?
    what operating system do you have?

    I had to restore my i pad to delete restrictions on facetime. I am now unable to access internet banking with Natwest due to my browser not being supported? How do I correct this? It was working ok before i did the restore. Thankyou.

When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
    You don't really sync photos from the devices to the Mac, you import them to an app; iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture. During that process you are given an option to erase the photos from the device. Is this not the manner that you used?

  • I just installed update version 11.1.4.62.  Now Itunes doesn't recognize my iphone or ipad.  My wife just installed the same version with the same result.  The problem is clearly a problem with itunes.  What's wrong with itunes?

    I was running the previous version of itunes and it worked perfectly.  I just installed the latest version of itunes (version 11.1.4.62) and restarted the PC and now itunes doesn't recognize my iphone or my ipad.  I'm running Windows 8.1 on my pc.  I tried diagnostics to no avail.  The diagnostic didn't recognize either device.  As the directions advised, I closed itunes, disconnected the devices and stopped and restarted the apple  mobile device service,  That didn't work either.  My wife, who also has Windows 8.1, has the same problem.  She installed the new version and it doesn't recognize her devices.
    Until now, itunes has been totally reliable.  I am convinced the problem is with itunes.  Where do I go from here?

    I resolved the issue by doing the following:
    1. Uninstall iTunes and every Apple application (device support and such).
    2. Uninstall bonjour.
    3. Reboot.
    4. Go to Apple and install iTunes.
    It worked.  When I opened iTunes (after reinstalling) it recognized all my devices, music and video.

  • Updated itunes then restored my pc and now I can't sync my iphone. Every time I try clicking on something itunes shuts down

    I tried updating my itunes and it stopped working so I restored my pc to before the update but now I can't sync my iphone to it. It keeps saying I need to sync but it wont and everytime I try clicking on something the side bar it shuts down.

    Cancel that... I uninstalled Quicktime and it started working. Will cross the reinstalling of quicktime down the track I suppose... thanks again

    If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

  • Installed the latest Java update today on my older iMac and now it won't boot up at all. 2007 model worked fine this morning, now disk first aid say boot blocks f'ed.

    I am using an older mid 2007 imac 24 inch running snow leopard 10.6.8
    I normally accept software update recs, and today when installing the security update to java, all went fine till restart, when I got the universal "NO" sign, the circle with the line through it and just spinning gray bars underneath.
    Booted from system disks, ran first aid, said the boot block partitions or something like that needed updating but disk appears to be ok. Still not working.
    Do you think Alsoft Disk Warrior will fix? I am running off external back up drive now.

    If your backup's up to date it might be less hassle to erase the internal and clone back from the backup. Don't allow the update next time it appears - you're not the only one having problems it would seem.
    Note; the message "updating boot partitions" is a standard message that appears after a repair run. It won't go away and should be ignored.
    Provided the message "The volume Macintosh HD Seems to be OK" in green has appeared, your disc fle system is fine.

    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Reset Password from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
    Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Reset Password.
    Or do you have Firmware Password Protection set up?

  • Just updated to ios 5 and now my computer can not find iphone or ipad

    after I updated my iphone 4 and both of my ipad 2s to ios 5 and my computer no longer finds them. They used to show up as devices with removable storage, but now they dont show up anymore. does anyone have a fix for this? any help would be appreciated

    correction to my last remark....... resetting my iphone worked, now it show up as digital camera again.  However resetting the ipad 2s didnt do anything. I dont know if this is an ipad2 thing or not. My original ipad1 showed up on my pc (before i sat on it and broke it) but both of my ipad2s dont show up. am I screwed?

  • Updated to Bundle 3049...and Now Can't Access my Email

    Hi there!
       I have an issue. I updated my bundle for OS 6.0 to 3049 (from 2409ish) today (Dec. 10, 2011). Since I was out and about, I updated via OTA rather than thru the comp. So far everything is A.O.K, and not haywire...sort of. Every time I try to verify my email it comes across with:
    "Sorry, unable to continue your session. Please log in again.."
    I have checked and double checked all of my information, and have verified thru the independant email sites that info is correct...so I know that is not the issue. I also googled the bundle update, and found someone out there has had the same issue...which Sprint has said is a BB issue, not a carrier issue. I have unlimited messages, so that also is not a problem.  The person that I found who had the same issue (found on a related BB site) basically had to do a complete wipe, and then put this bundle in via computer to get the email addresses to stick. 
     Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how did you solve it? I have read of many who have had the Style having to either get new phones, or doing complete wipes to get their phone to work right...and I am hoping that is not me. I have also searched the forum here, and so far, haven't found this topic...maybe others out there have had the same thing.

    Found someone with a BOLD 9650 who had the same issue, with the same update. Here is a fix that I found worked well...and I am posting in part from that one so others will know.

    Select your country of choice, then go to Communicate>Email. Scroll down to Other Personal Email and click on Integrate Now, then Launch Email Setup.

  • IOS 8.1.3 no back up and now unable to access via iPhone 6+

    Where to start... For what seems to be over 8 months my iPhone has not been backing up my contacts even though it is set to do so. My contact on my iPhone and Air are different. The Mac is that same as iCloud, but iPhone 6+ is not. It was the most update. I tired login out of both and then logging in again. No problem on Mac and iCloud on the web. Cannot log in with iPhone. Have a Japanese iTunes account to so tried that and it logged in with no problem. Tried my usual account  again and no go. Reset password, and Mac and iCloud are ok to log in but not iPhone.
    Any ideas would be hugely appreciated?

    I Had the exact same problem and after following all the steps at If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support
    i did several resets. Nothing seemed to work until I used my iCloud account to sign in rather than my Apple ID I got in. Apple ID did not work at all. Not sure if this will work for you but it did for me ... Good luck!

    I just installed the latest version of iTunes yesterday. Now it will not recognize neither my iPhone nor my iPad.  Is there a fix coming for this??  I can see from the comments that numerous other folks are having the exact same issue.

  • Downloaded Mavericks to iMac and all docs have disappeared!

    Help!  I downloaded Maverick to iMac and now ALL my photos, info, docs, etc are GONE--this did not happen when i loaded it to my MacBook.

    Click the apple.  What does it say by logout?  Make sure you're logged into your account.
