Updated xmonad, funky stuff happening

I updated xmonad tonight, and that didn't seem to be such a good idea. I'm using the darcs version. Since the update, things seem to be a little funky
when new windows are created (launching thunar from urxvt, renaming a file inside of thunar, etc) they dont seem to be focused to the front anymore, and appear behind the older window. I'm wondering if there is a way to get an older version back? (pacman cache not available)

In the current repo you can run:
darcs put --tag 0.6 /path/to/the/new/0.6/repo
And then build your happy version from there.
But I think that you'd be better off looking into the issue in the current. It could be that you have accidentally floated a window, or maybe I'm just misunderstanding you.

If you are in the Philippines, check to see if the country is changed in the iTunes Store settings on the iOS device. These steps will show you how to change the preference.
Change your iTunes Store country
Sign in to the account for the iTunes Store region you'd like to use. TapSettings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region.
Follow the onscreen process to change your region, agree to the terms and conditions for the region if necessary, and then change your billing information.

List of odd stuff happening after a clean install

Hey I just got my Powerbook G4 back from repair, it needed a new hard drive. Anyways I've noticed some odd behavior since I have gotten it back from apple.
First they saved the Admins short name as "a" which is really annoying anyway I can change the Admin first name?
Second I had iMovie it was on my dock and I simply dragged it off like any other program and now I don't have iMovie installed. Never happened to me before.
Third I keep getting this keychain error where it resets EVERYTHING! My music library, mail settings, its very annoying and I'm not sure what to do about it. Last time it happened Safari had frozen and I had to force quit it. When I re-opened it I got the keychain message.
Fourth, in the finder i lost the typical folders, "Photos, Music, Movies" I don't know why.
I think there is some other stuff, but seeing as I got my computer repaired from apple and this wierd stuff happening I was thinking something else might be wrong. Should I re-install everything all over again?
Edit: The keychain problem is most aggravating not only because I have to redo settings for every program but also say i copied music to Itunes, and it's in the folder if i am to copy it again then will it make duplicates? I'm afraid of having dozens of copies on my computer at this point.

I'd reinstall it anyway, so I can choose which languages, apps, fonts etc I get. iMovie will be on your original software restore CD, that came with your computer or on an iLife CD, you might have purchased later on.
Looks like transferring your old data from CD -or whatever you've chosen before you sent your computer to Apple- isn't too complicated, so reinstalling shouldn't take all that long. You have got a backup, so you can choose to "delete and install", right?!
Easier and more reliable than solving all your other issues.

99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.
Apple has started to get "tough" with hacked iPhones, & simply won't permit their activation.

How can my ex on a separate plan with a separate apple id receive my iMessages every time an update or phone change happens?

Every time an update happens or we change phones my ex's iPhone and mine get linked somehow and he receives my messages. If we are no longer using the same apple id and are on separate phone plans how can this be happening? I have changed my password but this keeps happening. We do not share a computer for it to be iTunes? I have called and got it fixed, but it happens repeatedly anyway...any ideas?

Once our information was appearing under each other's iMessages so we went to the apple store and called the phone service and they said it was fixed, but it happened again. Their information is no longer under my iMessage; however, they are receiving my iMessages with every update and I am not able to know if my information is showing under theirs. Update 4.1 (what happened)

I just updated my I-touch to 4.1, I have one of the orginal models that came out oh some 2 years ago. But with this new update, Nothing works properly. it's slow to sync, in fact, I can only sync one song at a time or it will go nutz and not sync, even then i have to disconnect it and then reconnect to sync some songs. Also WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REPEAT FEATURE.... I have a playlist but there is no feature anymore to have it repeat the playlist or a single song..... where did it go. i get to the end of the list and it just stops playing... also i have it set to random and it just doesn't work right. sometimes it plays two songs on my playlist and then it just stops playing like ok i'm done.... update 4.1 is horrible.... please fix it quickly....

Since the last update, I cannot attach a file to my email in MobileMe. It has always worked until the latest update. Now, nothing happens when you click on the paper clip icon and 'choose' the file to add.

I am using MobileMe on my Mac. Until the last update a few days ago, Firefox always allowed me to attach files to my emails. Now, when I click on the paper clip, and it takes to me find the file I want to attach, and I highlight the file I want to attach and click on 'open', nothing at all happens. the screen just goes back to my email. It always worked before, it does not now. It DOES work on Safari but I hate Safari, i want to use firefox.

Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

OK, I updated to FCS2 - what happened to all my favorite effects in FCP??

Yep, my favorites folder in the browser effects tab, which I had full of my carefully crafted transitions etc., is empty. What happened to them?

Your "Favorites" were part of FCP's preference file. When you installed the later version, preferences were most likely overwritten.
To guard against this happening with future updates, hard drive crashes, preferences corruptions, etc, create an FCP project named "Favorites." Add a color matte to the Timeline and cut it up into as many pieces as you have Favorite transitions. Add all your Favorite filters to one of the clips. Save the project file.
After upgrades or any other time you're required to restore your preferences, open the "Favorites" project and drag all of the transitions and filters into the Favorites Bin to restore them.
If you have previous project files in which you used some of those Favorites, you can re-open those projects and restore them the same way - having a "Favorites" project file with all of them just makes it easier to do.

Safari and other aplications super slow after update to Snow Leopard. Installed the update combo and nothing happened, still super super slow. Any tips to solve this?

After updating to Snow Leopard (to install Lion later), Safari and other aplications became super super slow and Preview is not working properly, I can't print anything that was opened with Preview. Already installed the Combo update, nothing happened, Safari still taking hours to load any site. I honestly regret downloading Snow Leopard, the older version worked so much better... Hope Lion is smarter than Snow Leopard...

i have read the posts. i have emptied my cache. i still don't see an update. i look at the file in iDisk, and it reflects the changes i made. but safari does not. any thoughts?

Weird stuff happening after upgrade to Captivate 8

Until this week I was using Captivate 7. I've now upgraded to Cap. 8 and am finding odd things happening. The oddest that the audio from one presentation is now attached to a different presentation. I am quite spooked by this - I'm wondered what else has gone wrong in the upgrade that I haven't noticed.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I have spent most of the day repairing this problem so I am pretty frustrated right now.

Thanx for your post REILLY875 but this problem I have oocurs the minute you turn on the computer, before it even starts to Power On Self Test. I can assure it has nothing to do with the loading of Windows drivers etc.
This delay I mentioned occurs from the moment I turn on the computer with the PrOn switch to the time it starts posting. Once it starts the post procedure, all is then fine and it continues on to boot from the hard drive with no problems.
I made mention of the fact that it now also takes longer for the bios to detect the SATA drive, quite likely a minor fix on MSIs behalf due to some HDDs not spinning up quick enough causing HDD detection and boot problems. I have read about this. It could be they deliberatley added a delay to this detection process. Not quite sure.
But in any case though, whilst this unusual sound I get from the speaker isn't a problem, it is quite strange as you say and is clearly not normal. The really annoying thing is that it does it sometimes and not others. I really hate intermittent type problems like this one.
I guess at the end of the day, unless your running a P4EE, what was the point of updating the bios. I know all us hardcore computer enthusiasts do it because that's just what we do. It's just a shame it wasn't more fool proof.

Does anyone have ANY idea when the next update is going to happen?

I'm editing a wedding video now and am waiting for the new updates (especially the functionality between Speedgrade and PP) to drop. I had heard a few weeks back that they were going to happen 10/15 but that date came and went. Then at the Create Now tour they said "in the next few days", but that was nearly a week ago. Does ANYONE have the scoop on this? I'm chomping at the bit....
