Updater Download Issue

I got my new iPod nano a few days ago and saw that the updater was old compared to the one on the net. I have a problem with the updater, the download is 45.5 MB I only have a dial up connection and downloading something that big is quite an issue for me.
I'm assuming that the updater has the latest version of iTunes in it as well. I already have the latest version of iTunes installed in my PC and don't want to go through downloading it all over again for nothing, so I was wondering if the updater was available alone and not with iTunes?
Of course if the updater doesn't have iTunes with it then I guess this post is meaningles...

Me too i have the beloved dial-up connection, and it took me 4 hours to downlaod itunes...so guess how long it would take for the updater!
one solution thati have fund, might be a bit incovinient, but fast, is to go to one of your relatives or friends that has high speed. Tak your PC with you, and plug it their, on their screen, and their internet stuff. put the cable-connection thing on your PC, and you should be able to have high speed on your computer. Now downlaod whatever you want, including the ipod update rof cours, aand everything is fine. go back home, and put the updater in your ipod!

  • WDK 8.1 update download issue and integration problem with VS Express 2013

    I have VS Express 2013 in my machine and want to download the WDK 8.1 Update. However, I am facing two issues:
    1. The download site says : "You have to register for downloading. Click on continue to register and download". On doing so it asks for what I want to download. Then it redirects to the page saying "Thank You for downloading". However,
    it has been more than 10 times since yesterday and yet no file has popped up for download. It is the same problem with other machines.
    2. On installing WDK 8.1 from softonic, it has created a separate folder and shows no way for its integration with VS express 2013. I do not get any "Windows driver functionalities" in VS Express 2013.

  • Mac OS 10.6.4 Update/Download Issue

    I just got a new Macbook and of course the software update had a lot of updates it that needed to run. Including Mac OS 10.6.4 and Safari 5.0.1. I tried downloading them and my connection got lost in the middle of the download. I tried the download again and everything jamed up. So I went to the library and cleared out the update file and everything else was cleared and didn't say partial downloads on the Update Software screen. All of those I got downloaded and updated just fine. The only ones I can't get to work are Mac OX 10.6.4 and Safari 5.0.1 They are still saying they are partially downloaded and when I try to re download they just jam up. Can someone tell me where these updates are being downloaded to so I can go in and clear them out and start the download fresh? Thanks

  • Help With Quicktime Update Download Issue?....No DMG format? Only Windows?

    I just got the new Final Cut Studio updates, but when I tried to install them for FCS 2, it asks for the 7.3 Quicktime? When I went to the Support section for downloads and tried to download for OS X, its only gave me the option to download for Windows XP? or Vista? I need a link to one of the proper pages to download the QT DMG 7.3, please help? Thank You Tim C.

    Apple uses a "browser detect" to determine what type of OS is being used and redirects to that version download page. If you're using Windows to visit you'll only see the Windows download.

  • Has anyone experienced an update download issue (42) with Illustrator CC (2014)?

    Abode Creative Cloud has been bugging me to update for a couple of weeks so I succumbed this morning.
    The first part was the Creative Cloud App which succeeded after failing a couple of days ago.
    I then clicked the install for the following in this order as they showed:
    Photoshop CC (2014) Successful
    Illustrator Cc (2014) Failed
    Premiere Pro CC (2014) Failed
    Dreamweaver CC (2014) Successful
    Media Encoder CC (2014) Successful
    SpeedGrade CC (2014) Failed
    That works out to 50%. Impressive!
    Anyway when I tried the "retry" as suggested "total failure".
    I tried again, by first closing the Creative Cloud App and reopening, but those 3 Apps still came up with the fail message and "Retry" button.
    I sure hope the Illustrator and Premiere Pro keep working for me until this mess has been sorted out; because I sure pay enough for the privilege.
    Once again Adobe CC has met my expectations!

    When I booted up my system this morning, I opened the Creative Cloud App and the "Retry" buttons had gone to be replaced with the usual clue "Install" buttons.
    Closing the Creative Cloud App yesterday did not have this affect, and it would appear my system had to be rebooted to reset the "Retry" buttons.
    I decided to click on one and allow it too update, before clicking on the next; although the App is designed that you can click on multiples and it will queue them.
    I believe yesterday's issue was a Creative Cloud App issue, although it did queue and update the other three updates without a problem.
    In the future I will likely not queue updates but do them one at a time just to see if my Creative Cloud experience improves.

  • Dial Up Update Download Issue

    High speed internet access is unavailble in my area. I can't download the updates for Tiger after just installing Tiger on my new hard drive. The Update files are too large and I get kicked off. Is there an alternative download broken up into smaller files? What other optons are there for me?

  • Ipod update download issue

    i am downloading the latest ipod update and during the download a message came up and said that there was a connection error and now its downloaded 180.7 MB out of 165 MB so far and the progress bar is extending over the stop button. is there something wrong with the file?

  • Software Updates ADR Issue: "Failed to download the update from the internet. Error = 5"

    The above is the error I am getting when running any ADR. The error is quite clear software updates are failing to download and Error = 5 being a permissions error its clear that the downloads are failing due to incorrect permissions applied to the download
    path.

    Also, I do not have a patchdownloader.log anywhere, Ive checked all aforementioned locations from various sources and it just simply does not exist on my SCCM server. Here is my setup:
    Server1: Primary server with all roles installed locally except the site database is on its own server. WSUS is installed locally here and DB is stored here. 
    Server2: SQL DB for Primary site DB
    Server3: Secondary remote site running MP, DP, SUP. DB is SQL Express local. 
    So the SUP role was installed successfully on both server1 first and server 2 second with the site servers accounts. The SUP Synchronizes successfully and I can see a large list of updates available for use but not downloaded of course. I have set WSUS option
    to store updates locally and have plenty of space at the target destination.
    So here is my issue, I have been working on this issue for the better part of a week and understand the error code from the ruleengine.log to be a permissions issue. I have also proved this out but creating a test ADR with minimal updates and applied NTFS perms
    to the target path for Modify with the everyone group (testing purposes only). The updates downloaded successfully. So this puts me right back to where I was, knowing its a permissions issue but not understanding what permissions are needed. Let me explain
    further.
    The best way to start is to show what perms I have to the target location for downloads/wsus/sup anything:
    Path: \\Server1\UpdatesAndDefinitions    (permissions being applied to the UpdatesAndDefinitions root folder)
    SCCMAdmin (account used for most SCCM tasks except for NA) / Modify / Share and NTFS
    Server1$ (primary site server) / Modify / NTFS
    Everyone / read and execute / NTFS and Share
    There are other system generated perms but the above three are the important ones. So hence my confusion I know that the SCCMAdmin account or the Server its self has to be accessing the target directory so why is it failing with a permissions issue?
    My next step was to enable Auditing on the target path. Doing so revealed just what I thought and through me into further frustration:

    Now I may not be the best I traversing through the mess of audit entry's and translating them, but from what I can see the two accounts that have the proper share and ntsf perms ive listed above are indeed the ones accessing the target location and the audit
    code is success. I filter for failures and found no audits for failures whatsoever yet my downloads still fail religiously, unless of course I open myself up with the everyone group.
    So next... I tried adding in the Network Service account with proper permissions, the Local Service Account, my user account, and all no go's.
    Next... I remove the SUP roles from SCCM checked the logs for deinstall confirmations, and reinstalled these roles. No Go!
    If anyone can assist I would be in your debt and very grateful. 
    Oh last note, but very important note I'm running SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4

    I just tested with the everyone group further; I added everyone with modify for ntfs and just read only for share and downloads failed!
    I then changed the share perms for everyone to change and the ntfs to read/execute and poof downloads complete! Obviously change share perms for everyone leaves me open which Id like to prevent, so finding what account is being used is crucial.
    I have already tried adding all of the SCCM accounts I use and the servers themselves as change perms to share and ntfs and have not had any luck.

  • 10.5.3 Update display issue. None of the already discussed...

    I've calibrated my display at a colour management facility some weeks ago, and took a screen picture of the brightness setting in system preferences... so that i could recall it in case i changed the brightness by accident.
    well, after updating couple days ago, i was asked to restart my computer. i did restart, but the computer acted weirdly, taking a lot of time installing extra stuff and eventually auto-restarting extra 2 times before showing my desktop again.
    once it did, i noticed right away my screen was a little darker and maybe with lesss contrast. I checked Display preferences (Adjuts display brightness left Uncheked) and with the brightness slider at the same point as usual, it was significantly darker. Actually, i need almost full brightness to get the same white that was 70% brightness before the update.
    I see a lot of people with display issues after that update, what is going on?
    ps: i'm using 2008 LED 15" MBP

    That extra stuff your computer was installing may have been things that Software Update downloaded automatically but didn't install at the time. Don't worry, restarting twice is normal. By chance did you notice a drop in brightness after the update when running on battery power? When you unplug a MacBook Pro, the screen automatically dims a bit to save energy.

  • Update download of Premiere Pro CC 7.0.1 hangs numerous times.

    Just joined CC after San Francisco tour. Update download of Premiere Pro CC 7.0.1 hangs numerous times. Initial download of all CC apps was successful.
    Thus, I cannot update download any/all CC software.
    FYI: Win 8 laptop. FireFox browser.
    Also, is remote access possible to fix this download hang problem?
    How can I contact Adobe CC tech support directly?
    Perhaps this hanging download problem is a problem on Adobe's end due to high traffic after San Francisco tour event. Tried unsuccessfully several times last night (Friday) and this morning (Saturday).
    How can this problem be fixed?

  • Muse update installation issues

    I have a monthly subscription to Muse and everytime I try to install the latest updates Ihave issues. When I try to install directly from MUSE it tells me to check my network connection - which is always fine. I have tried pausing my virus protection etc. I then try to get help from customer support and the fxes do not appear to work etiher. I haveuninstalled and reinstalled etc with no luck -any suggestions

    Try disabling any firewall or antivirus application and re-try updating, also try a different network connection. If that doesn't help, please uninstall and use the following direct download links to install Muse fresh.

    The update takes runs but takes forever long. I never wait till it finishes.Don't know how long I should wait.

    If it is progressing I would let it finish.  Otherwise I would terminate and try here before "erasing" ( I assume you mean placing in recovery mode) and then restoring.

  • I cannot update/download iTunes v. 11.x.x

    I cannot update iTunes through Apple Software Update (nor Quicktime).  I get an error "iTunes (Quicktime) has an invalid signature".  When trying to download from the apple website,  I get "This program is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer".  I'm running Windows 7 that is current with updates, and have the latest version of Apple Software Update.  I have had problems with updating/downloading anything Apple for a bout a year, but there was always an easy fix.  As of now, there no longer is a quick fix that I can find.  Anybody have anything other than what I have already seen that doesn't work?

    Issues installing iTunes and QuickTime are successfully resolved a majority of the time after completing these troubleshooting steps.

  • IChat/Photobooth More Download Issues.

    i've looked through many forms relating to this, but NONE has helped me at all. i downloaded "More iChat Effects 2.0.4" at
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/email_chat/moreichateffects.html
    for a lot of the settings, it comes out all inverted. its a brand new laptop, nothing is wrong with my iSight. i have the 10.6.4 version. here is my hardware info.

    i know that you can change it to the 32-bit, but when ever i try switching it over to that, nothing comes up when i press down command-i. here is some more info if it can at all help you.

    (1) *Only applications* can show the "_Open in 32-bit mode_" option.
    If you are using "Get Info" on some other filetype, not seeing 32-bit is expected. However, you should still see the Get Info window.
    (2) Test as follows: select any application's iCon by clicking once on it in your Mac's "Applications" folder. Then hold down the "⌘" key and tap the "i " key once. The Get Info window should open.
    (3) Having used the process in (2), if you still see "... nothing comes up ..."  
    Does that mean that no Get Info window opens?
    If you are uncertain that you are seeing a Get Info window, here is a picture of one:
      (Yours will contain different information.) 
    (4) If you do not see any "Get Info" window, try using the *File > Get Info* menu command instead of the "⌘ i" keyboard shortcut.

    I do not understand this.
    (5) If this paragraph is still related to your +Get Info+ problem, see the suggestions above.
    (6) If this paragraph relates to "download issues", please provide some explanation of the problem.
    (7) If this paragraph is still about help with More iChat Effects problems, my best suggestion is you carefully follow the developer's uninstall instructions to remove this third-party add-on if it will not work with the Mac OS.
