Not able to connect N70 to pc(xp) using ca-53 cable
hi i am having this trouble from a year... i am unable to connect my phone n70 using cable to my pc,.,. even after installing all drivers n pc suite n havin it reinstalled also n again doin d same process.. its not getting detected at all.. please help me out... pleaseeee..been tryin 4m a year..nevr checkd des forumss.. hopin som bdy ll help ,me out.. !!!. !!!!

The DKU-2 cable is no longer supported and so cannot be guaranteed to be compatible with current PC Suites, you should be using either your current CA-53 or the CA-70.
Have you had the chance to connect any other phone with the PC using this cable? This would test if thr cable itself might be faulty.
Otherwise remove PC Suite, PC Connectivitiy Solution and Connectivity Cable Drivers from control panel, run the PC Suite Cleaner program that you can get from the PC Suite support pages on the web site, then reinstall everything.

  • Updating N70 with language of chinese. Help!

I bought N70 at Hongkong China and I live in Mainland China. There are different editions of N70 in two areas(support 3G or not,for instance). The phone in Mailand have only camera back and some diversity in software,Thereby what I worry about is that I cannot update my Hongkong edition N70 which has the additional camera located on forehead at any service center in Mainland China .
So I wish I could update my own phone's software by myself while I cannot go for a trip to Hongkong.I want to kown if my n70(with language of chinese, perhaps with other characters for oriental users) can be updated via this internet updater safely ? Is there any potential problem with such a particular phone after process of updating?
    Thx!!

    There is Chinese language.
However, your phone was most likely originally manufactured for a different region/market (like India, for example), and then a, so called, "grey" importer reflashed it with a Chinese firmware version.
Now, the Nokia systems still remember what region/market the device was originally manufactured for and shipped to (and thus it remembers what operator version or languages were on the phone when it left the factory where it was made).
When you use NSU (Nokia Software Update) to update the firmware, the NSU software asks a back-end Nokia system what is the latest firmware for it, and if available delivers it.
Because the Nokia system remembers what was supposed to be on the device, that language versions is delivered, instead of what the grey importer put on the device later.
So, you can ask if a local Nokia service/repair center can help you (they might be limited to connecting to the same back-end system, and thus they may not be able to do anything), or go to the original reseller or importer and ask them to help.
Or you can sell your device and buy a new one, but this time from a proper/legal importer/reseller with whom you will not have this problem of loosing languages when you update.

This seems to be a problem not with the phone (Nokia N70) but with Windows.
You should make sure that Windows Firewall or Anti Virus Applications such as Norton Antivirus permit the Nokia Software Updater application to connect to the Internet.
You need to configure exclusions, for example enable the application in Windows Firewall or in Norton AntiVirus go to 'Internet Worm Protection' and go to 'Program Control' then add the Updater application which resides at the following path:
    "C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Software Updater\nsu_ui_client.exe"
After that run the application again (you may possibly have to restart). The application will then connect to the Internet and detect your phone.
You'll probably find (like me) however that the phone already has the most current firmware.
Take care running firmware updates though, sometimes they can be more costly than any benefits, especially if something goes wrong.
    Best of luck.

  • Updating N70 - first-timer advice please

First off, I'd better say I've never attempted to update the firmware on any phone before. My T-Mobile Nokia N70's current firmware is – and I hope you're sitting down – v2.0537.1.7, which was out of date when I got the phone around a year ago.
I've downloaded the Nokia software updater and sorted out my phone's connection to the PC, so I'm pretty much ready to go, but just have a few questions - well, concerns really.
I know I need to back up my contacts to the PC and also save any pictures/files in the gallery, but I was wondering what else will be lost when I do it?
I don't mind losing any of the games that came pre-installed (don't know whether by Nokia or T-Mobile), but Adobe reader is useful to me. What programs etc will I lose, and what will stay after I upgrade?
What I'm probably most concerned about, however, is the connection settings. Once I have updated the firmware, will the phone retain the call and SMS/MMS connection settings, which I presume were set by T-Mobile, meaning I will be able to carry on without having to change anything, or will I have to sort them all out?
I guess it's just a case of first-time nerves, but any help or advice anyone can give me would be hugely appreciated.

Basically once you run the Software Updater tool and it upgrades your phone, it will revert to the condition that you got it when you first took it out of its box. So there will be no settings on the phone whatsoever, and any applications that you installed after you bought the phone will not be there anymore - applications that were on there when you bought it (e.g. calculator etc.) will be there.
If you have a memory card, I would recommend that you backup your phone contents to your memory card, and then restore them once the upgrade has been completed. From memory (no pun intended) I think on the N70 you can access the memory card by going to Tools->Memory card - then goto the Options menu and "Backup phone contents to memory card" or something similar. When I did this on my N70 and more recently on my N95 it also restored not only the SMS, MMS settings, but also the applications I had installed too. Once the upgrade process has been completed, you can then go back to the memory card and restore the backup to your phone.
I'm not trying to put the frighteners on you, but be aware that as with any firmware update for any device, there is always the possibility of "bricking" the device - i.e. the firmware upgrade process may go awry and you may be left with a non functioning phone.
Having said that, before Nokia disabled the ability to upgrade the firmware on a phone more than once, I ran the NSU on my N70 about 3 or 4 times and only had one problem - I've also recently upgraded my N95 and the process went flawlessly, however if you rely on your phone for business or emergency use then I would recommend that you make provisions to have another phone available in case it does go wrong.
Please ensure you are running the most recent copy of PC Suite and the NSU before going ahead with the upgrade.
The software updater can be found here : http://www.nokia.co.uk/softwareupdater
The PC Suite program (to create and restore backups) can be found here : http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite
One final word of advice - don't be in a rush when you do the process - it doesn't take a long time (at the most 10 minutes), but if you are in a rush to do this then you may be tempted to disconnect the device before the upgrade has been done - this is a VERY VERY VERY bad thing to do and will definitely turn your phone into a brick - so don't !
During the process itself you may see the screen power up and say "Test mode" - this is fine - just let it carry through and the phone will eventually come back up. If there is a scenario where you've given it half an hour and there's been no joy (e.g. the screen is blank), then take the battery physically out of the phone for 5 minutes then put it back and power the phone back on. If it doesn't come back up then you will have to visit your nearest Nokia Service Centre.
I know I've probably painted quite a negative picture, but as I've said I've upgraded the firmware about 4/5 times successfully and had no problems whatsoever, but it's only fair I paint a balanced picture so you are aware of all the pros and cons of doing this.
Good luck and please let me know how you get on.
    Regards,
    Edward

  • Access points not showing on my N70 (contract)

    Hi all
I have at least 2 access points that aren't showing up in my list. Besides the several PAYG and the CONTRACT that are locked and unviewable/editable, I know there is one in there called BT but it isn't showing up. It was there before but not I can't see it. Another confirmation that it's there, but just not visible, is that if I try to create another one called BT it saves as BT(01).
How can I see all my access points?
    Thanks

I've had to reboot or restart my Z10 to get my remote PC to appear.

  • ISync 2.2 does not detect my Nokia N70

When iSync scans for devices it says "No devices found"
I don't have Bluetooth on the iBook so I'm connecting it via USB but it doesn't even show up on the "About this Mac" USB info.
Anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on?
    Thankyou!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I see two immediate problems: Mac OS X 10.2.x [roughly translated as iSync 1.5 or earlier, which has no support for the RAZR product family] and Motorola RAZR V3.
If you expect to synchronize a RAZR of pretty much any type, you'll have to install Mac OX 10.4.4 and iSync 2.1.1 at a minimum as I recall, and Mac OS X 10.4.7 and iSync 2.3 are required to support all of the RAZR models listed here:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/isync/devices.html
Notice that only the original GSM model, the V3c, V3i and V3x are explicitly supported.
Your likelihood of success is also partially determined by the identity of your wireless carrier, and the availability of iSync 2.3 plug-ins for extended RAZR support for those models not listed above.
You would be far better off posting this question as a new issue here in the iSync forum, and might want to consider posting it in the Bluetooth Other Devices forum if establishing a Bluetooth pairing is an issue. No one will notice if buried here, particularly because this original issue here was answered.

  • Video Streaming Not Working on Nokia N70-1

I recently bought a Nokia N70-1. Though I have got the correct internet settings from the operator here in Sri Lanka (Dialog Telekom), the steaming of videos works only from the operator's official web site. Youtube mobile videos, for example, activates the Real Player but they fail to load. Could anyone tell me where the problem lies? Thanks in advance for your help.

  • A2DP on N70,N91,etc

Why has nokia crippled most of N series devices by lack of A2DP profile for stereo audio via Bluetooth ?? Even the N70 music edition & music editions of other phones do not have A2DP.
N70 supporting Bluetooth 2.0 should have had A2DP....Even phones like N91,N73,N92 do not have A2DP.
These phones just need a firmware change to support A2DP..but the big question is
WHEN IS NOKIA PLANNING TO RELEASE A FIRMWARE UPDATE SUPPORTING A2DP FOR THESE PHONES ?? or DOES IT PLAN TO KEEP THEM CRIPPLED FOR LIFE.
When cheap phones like Nokia 6085 can have A2DP..then why can't N series devices ??
    Is NOKIA listening ???

Include the N6233..at the very beginning,A2DP is not present until Nokia included the feature via Firmware update(V 4.91)
So its 50-50 possible.Don't lose hope.C'mon Nokia give them a chance to have such feature.
(Nokia 5300 can play Mp4 files and it has a first class rate 1.3MP camera with no flash though)
    CHeeRios!!!
sorry, but i think you are wrong, 6233 has A2DP even from the beginning...
i don't think there will be any upgrade at all for those without A2DP, coz it involves BT profiles that needs to be embedded on the chip- firmware and it is also regulated and requires a new round of approval from the BT governing body, so unless that particular handset is approved to have that BT profile, it will not be changed
a very good example is N91... when it got its BT approval it was already approved to have A2DP profile, but the 1st N91 did not have A2DP... A2DP was only included for the N91 8GB coz it is equipped to have it, and no re-approval is required coz it is already approved to have A2DP profile... hence, bottom line it involves, firmware, hardware and approval...

  • Looking for FL 2 for N70

    Hi.
I would like to purchase a copy of Flash Lite 2 for the Nokia
N70 to evaluate it. I have seen it in the US online store, but when
I switch to any EU shops (since I am in Slovenia and may not order
from the US shop), the product is not offered for the N70. Is it
maybe not released yet in Europe? Can anyone assist me with this
    problem? Thank You.

Not your quiet storage, but then I would put it in a cool closet or small room off to the side :-)
http://www.macgurus.com/store/Item/ARC8050 ( I was assuming but maybe not, that it would support RAID6 which is always preferable for larger arrays. Seems to have most features you want for 8 drives). MacGurus "Burly" are never quiet but they are rugged and well tested.
Migrating storage will be a concern. I don't like the noise from my older SATA OWC dual-drive metal enclosure though suppose to be 'acceptable' unless they have improved the fans they are out for me.
    OWC for Thunderbolt products.
Helios enclosure (the new dual-slot Helios PCIe chassis)
… moving various hard drives into Thunderbolt cases
    USB3 hard drive enclosure.
For those without eSATA enclosures, a simple eSATA to USB3 adapter might do the trick.
USB3 is plenty fast to house two hard drives.
    OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual.
Available now starting at about $430.

  • Email Configuration Tool - Can not connect

    Hi
I can't get the 'Nokia Email Configuration Tool' to connect to my phone.
    I have a N70 phone. I am using a Nokia CA-53 USB cable.
The PC Suite version is 6.70.22
The Config. tool is version 1.0
The phone is connected to PC Suite and shows as such in my system tray and in PC Suite. Other functions seem to work ok, e.g. I can synchronize contacts etc..
I fill in the details in the Config. tool but get the message 'Phone isn't connected'.
My OS is MS Windows Professional Version 2002 SP2
    My operator is T-Mobile.
Additionally, I previously tried to get settings sent to my phone using the 'send settings service'. However my email provider, UK2.NET, does not appear.
    Thanks for your help
    Chris

Thanks for replying quickly. The link is:
    http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,75924,00.html
but I see now the tool is not specified for the N70 phone.
However I resorted to this tool as I can not send email. I can receive email ok.
    My operator is T-mobile
    my email supplier is uk2.net
    I use smtp authentication
    email it is POP3
    smtp should use port 443
I notice that there is a security port configuration option but it is present and does not offer port 443.
Please can you advise how I can specify my own settings.
    Thanks
