Updates automatically using wrong ID

I am signed in to my app store with my apple ID, however I am trying to update iphoto and everytime I click update it pops up for me to type the password of a different ID. It also does not give me the option to type in a different ID, just to type the password for that one. Help !

I have the same problem here. All the apps have been purchased with my Apple ID and this ID is signed in on the App Store. There are two updates available but when i try to update a dialog box appear asking me to type my son's Apple ID password but there's no option to change it and type my Apple ID.

Update application using wrong email account

My son hooked up the ipad to his iTunes account and now I cannot update these programs that were installed since they are associated with his account and I don't want them to be. I addressed the email settings to my own email account and syncs fine with my iTunes and my own applications. Is my only recourse to delete those applications?
I would of assumed that syncing with my own iTunes would of overwritten the previous email accounts but what it seemed to do was to add those applications to my own iTunes but still maintain my sons email account.
Where is this stored? It's certainly no where to be found in Ipad Settings.

If you have authorized your computer for his account, you can update his applications by signing in with his Apple ID. You can do this in two places. Easiest for me is to click 'Applications' on the left side of the iTunes screen. Select check for updates and look at the top right of the screen and check which Apple ID is signed in. Click on that ID to sign in with his Apple ID. You may be asked for his account info including Credit card info. After verifying that, 'check for updates' in Applications and sync.

I seem to have two Apple ID's attached to my e-mail.
An Apple ID is a valid email address, apparently. How can those be "attached to your email"... what email?
Facetime will not verify my e-mail address because it is associated with the other account.
This doesn't make sense. You can register multiple, even non-Apple-ID, email addresses and their aliases with FaceTime.
So, maybe you can explain your problem better - what you want and the steps you've taken and what you have so far. If something doesn't work, please tell the exact error message, too.

Whats the difference between a combo update and using software update?

I keep my Macbook up to date by checking regularly via software update, so far with no mishaps, but I have seen people on these forums mentioning that a it is better to download the combo updates direct from Apples website. Is this true, if so why, and what is the difference? I am thinking of installing Leopard which would then probably need updating to the current version, so what is the correct way of doing this?

There are no guarantees, but following this procedure when installing updates and upgrades on your Mac, or even re-installing them, will go a long way towards avoiding unpleasant after effects and ‘post-update stress disorder’.
It is also worth noting that it is an extreme rarity for updates to cause upsets to your system, as they have all been extensively beta-tested, but they may well reveal pre-existing ones, particularly those of which you may have been unaware. If you are actually aware of any glitches, make sure they are fixed before proceeding further.
So before you do anything else:
If you can, make a full backup first.
Turn off sleep mode for both screen and hard disk.
Disconnect all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
1. Repair Permissions (in Disk Utility)
2. Verify the state of your hard disk using Disk Utility. If any faults are reported, restart from your install disk (holding down the C key), go to Disk Utility, and repair your startup disk. Restart again to get back to your startup disk.
At least you can now be reasonably certain that your system does not contain any obvious faults that might cause an update/upgrade to fail.
3. Download the correct version of the COMBO update from the Apple download site. If your car runs on gasoline you would not want to fill the tank with diesel, so don’t try to install the PPC updater on an Intel Mac!

If you prefer to download updates via Software Update in the Apple menu (which would ensure that the correct version for your Mac was being downloaded), it is not recommended to allow SU to install major (or even minor) updates automatically. Set Software Update to just download the updater without immediately installing it. There is always the possibility that the combined download and install (which can be a lengthy process) might be interrupted by a power outage or your cat walking across the keyboard, and an interrupted install will almost certainly cause havoc. Once it is downloaded, you can install at a time that suits you. You should make a backup copy of the updater on a CD in case you ever need a reinstall.

Using the Combo updater ensures that all system files changed since the original 10.4.0 are included, and any that may have been missed out or subsequently damaged will be repaired. The Delta updater, although a temptingly smaller download, only takes you from the previous version to the new one, i.e. for example from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11. Software Update will generally download the Delta updater only. The preferable Combo updater needs to be downloaded from Apple's download site.
Now proceed as follows:
4. Close all applications.
5. Unplug all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
6. Install the update/upgrade. Do not under any circumstances interrupt this procedure. Do not do anything else on your computer while it is installing. Be patient.
7. When it ask for a restart to complete the installation, click restart. This can take longer than normal, there are probably thousands of files to overwrite and place in the correct location. Do nothing while this is going on.
8. Once your Mac is awake, repair permissions again, and you should be good to go!
If your Mac seems slightly sluggish or ‘different’, perform a second restart. It can’t hurt and is sometimes efficacious!
9. Open a few of your most used applications and check that all is OK. In this connection please remember that not all manufacturers of third party applications and plug-ins, add-ons, haxies etc, will have had time to do any necessary rewrites to their software to make them compliant with the latest version of your operating system. Give them a weeks or two while you regularly check their websites for updates. This applies particularly to plug-ins for Safari 3.
N.B. Do not attempt to install two different updates at the same time as each may have different routines and requirements. Follow the above recommendations for each update in turn.

If you are updating Safari (or just have):
Input Managers from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up. If you have installed an OS update and Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level /Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari. Remember: Tiger up to 10.4.10 used Safari 2.0.4 or, if you downloaded it, Safari 3.0.3 beta. Safari 10.4.11 used Safari 3.0.4 which was not a beta. If Safari 3.1.2 on 10.4.11 is not the fastest browser you have ever used, then something is wrong!
Moreover, trying to revert to Safari 3.0.4 (or worse still, version 2) when running 10.4.11 or 10.5 can have repercussions, as Safari 3.1.1 uses a completely different webkit on which other applications like iChat, Mail and Dashboard Widgets etc also rely, and may entail you having to reinstall an earlier operating system.
Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party ad-on. Two such add-on that have been frequently mentioned here for causing such problems are Piclens and Pithhelmet. If you have them, trash them.

To reiterate, Input Managers reach right into an application and alter its code. This puts the behavior of the affected application outside the control and responsibility of its developers: a recipe for problems. That's not to say that issues absolutely will ensue as a result of Input Managers, but you, as a user, must decide. If the functionality of a specific Input Manager or set thereof is really important to you, you may well choose to assume the associated risk.
Again, the advice is to remove all Input Managers from the following directories:
• /Library/InputManagers
• ~/Library/InputManagers
especially prior to system updates (they can always be added back one-by-one later).

Dates in Events do not update automatically

After iPhoto made events out of my photo library during conversion from from iPhoto06, there are often photos from several days in one "event". I can live with that most of the time, but in several instances I split events. Unfortunately, the dates of the original, unsplit event do not update automatically. This often results in a wrong order of events. If, e.g. I take out pictures from August 10th from an event with photo dates August 10th to August 13th, the original event still shows the starting date of August 10th, and orders the event between August 9th and August 11th.
The expected behaviour would be that the starting date of the modified event would change automatically to reflect the changes. This does not occur, and, worse, there is not even a possibility to change those dates manually.
Am I missing something important here, or is this an VERY annoying bug in iPhoto08?

I agree - but this is a user forum and we can NOT fix anything - only try to help either follow the correct procedures of (as in this case) identify a work around to use until Apple fixes the problem.
As far as I know the work around of creating a new event form one photo and moving the remaining photos to the new event is the ONLY way arround this problem right now.
Using the work around will accomplish what you need even though it should not be necessary. Complaining about on this forum will not accomplish anything - compalining directly to Apple might -- iPhoto menu ==> Provide iPhoto Feedback.

Dataset not updating automatically

Hello,
I have a graph that is dynamic. I already have a variable set up and also a dataset. This file is saved.
Basically, I am trying to write some code that will open the document, import the variable file (with the new data from the xml file) and then update the graph.
Using the code below, the file opens and also the import of the variables is succesful. However, the graph is not updating automatically. I need to actually select the value from the dropdown in the variables window. Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Error in updating pricing using BAPI_QUOTATION_CREATEFROMDATA2

    I am using the BAPI function module BAPI_QUOTATION_CREATEFROMDATA2. I am calling BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT subsequently
I need to change an existing pricing condition ZMLT which is
automatically determined by the config while creating a sales quotation
Also I need to add ZFR1 and ZFR2 which are 2 freight condition types
(Condition Class = 'F')
Case 1
If I set the LOGIC-SWITCH-COND_HANDL = 'X', then I can correctly update
ZMLT using CONDITIONS_IN parameter, but I can't update ZFR1 and ZFR2
since they are freight condition types (as per Note 593246)
Case 2
If I set LOGIC-SWITCH-COND_HANDL = ' ', then I can correctly update
ZFR1 and ZFR2 freight condition types using the parameters
CONDITIONS_IN and CONDITIONS_INX. But when I try to update ZMLT, it
deactivates the existing line in the pricing and adds a new line with
same condition type ZMLT. Why does it do this...?

You have very well prepared this example!
...and you analyzed it completely, this behavior is just the restriction you have to live with.
Old style condition handling couldn't change values, so workaround with adding new line and inactive existing line was done. New condition handling has restrictions, too - so no freights.
Why does it do this... it's a buggy feature or whatever you would like to call it. At least it was done by purpose, what internal reasons lead to this, I can't say.
One workaround would be possible for you: create quotation with cond_handl = A, change afterwards with cond_handl = B.
If you start with A = X and B = space or A = space and B = X should be the same in the end.

'do not download or install updates automatically' doesn't work 4 my Adobe.

some people use Adobe just to read from time to time some pdfs on their computer. they dont work with adobe, they dont need "the latest updates", they are happy with what they have.
so im a bit frustrated how often adobe is updated while im not interested, how many times for month i must click "NO, THANKYOU." - really, i have enough "clicks" on the whole internet every day (disabling adds etc.)
yes, i know, you "can" disable updates in options: "edit - preferences - updater - do not download or install updates automatically" but it doesnt work for my Adobe, im still getting info about "waiting update".

Setting the Updater preferences to not download updates automatically (i.e. edit - preferences - updater - do not download or install updates automatically) will only change the way Reader updates are downloaded. It could be a case wherein Adobe Acrobat is also installed on your system for which you might be getting the update prompts.
Would it be possible for you to share the contents of the file AdobeARM.log present in the %temp% folder so that I can confirm the reason for the behavior on your system.

When the user press the button Calculate Tax (see attached doc) and click on Tax details then this should be updated automatically. But it does not work it is empty and the user has to update manually.

That is not the same thing as the iPad Auto Lock setting which allows you to set an allotted time before the iPad goes to sleep.
You can try resetting all settings to see if the Auto Lock feature retinrs to the iPad.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. This can be a little time consuming re-entering all of the device settings again.

Macbook won't download software updates automatically

This may seem like a strange problem (it does to me, at least), but my Macbook is all of a sudden incapable of receiving software updates. I got it on Christmas, downloaded all of the necessary software updates, and then never really concerned myself with whether or not my Macbook was actually downloading new updates automatically, until recently. I tried to go to the Apple menu and click on "Software Update...", but when I do that, I get a message that says, "Software Update can't find the update server. Make sure you're connected to the internet, then try again."
The problem is, I run the recommended Network Diagnostics right after that, and that says that my connection is perfect. I have no trouble connecting to the internet through Mozilla Firefox (which, coincidentally, auto downloaded ITS new update just fine...), and I don't have any strange encryptions on my router (a Linksys WRT54G model), nor have I changed anything at all about my connection since Christmas morning about half a year ago.
I suppose I should let you know that my dad got this Macbook from eBay. OS X had already been installed for a while by the time I got it, so I had a great deal of updates to download (the laptop hadn't been used since the initial setup back when it was bought), and seemed to function perfectly. That is, until I unplugged the power source and found out that I had a dead battery. So I have a relatively new battery in my Macbook. Time stamp does not update automatically

Hi, All. I want include the time stamp (yyyy-mo-dd-min-sec) in the file name. However, the value of the time stamp does not update automatically/synchronizes with the computer clock at each new run. I need to do it manually with the right click and update the time to the current.

What does this have to do with NI counter/timer hardware?
What language are you using and what function are you using to get a timestamp? If the language is LabVIEW, then all you need is Get Date/Time in Seconds. If you are using a front panel Time Stamp control, then you are using the incorrect function.

Thank you for your reply. I realy have nothing else to sync - no music. Emails do work so its just my contacts I am concerned about. I'm kinda new at this but have a working understanding of the system.
I have an icloud account but the Geek Squad went there and tried but could not export contacts. I truly am not that good re icloud. They worked exclusively with my itunes, re-downloading, etc - all of the stuff in their book.
I have not tried a complete restore because I am not sure I am that good with the equipment but could. I did all of the stuff on the help page - sync reset, forced one-way sync etc but the phone just does not seem to recognize the sync. I have not gone to an Apple store to have them have a look - that may be my next step to hook up to another itunes computer. It seems simple to me - it was working fine until maybe 3 months ago - probably when there was an update. Its telling to me that the phone does not tell me there is a sync in process while itunes is saying there is - its just not biting between the 2.
I appreciate any hep - and I said, I not stupidi about these things but have kind of reached as far as I am comfortable with fear of doing something really wrong.

Hi, first of all, your placing of "for update" clause is wrong. It should be at the end like:

for update of <col1> skip locked;Second, if you try to compile it with this syntax then you will get a new error.
ORA-01786:     FOR UPDATE of this query expression is not allowed
Cause:     An attempt was made to use a FOR UPDATE clause on the result of a set expression involving GROUP BY, DISTINCT, UNION, INTERSECT, or MINUS.
Action:     Check the syntax, remove the FOR UPDATE clause, and retry the statement.So, you will not be successful with the union clause in your query.
