Seems like the downloaded file was corrupt that could be because of either network restriction or the anti virus might have blocked it. My suggestion would be to try and download the product either by turning off the Antivirus or try a different network.

Trying to download the free trial of Adobe Acrobat XL Pro. I keep getting the message "The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author." I've repeatedly tried getting a new installer file, but get the same message every time.

I've looked over the online suggested repair which indicates to search for and delete Adobe Muse but when go looking for it, it doesn't seem to exist. How can I get this resolved?

I have an air application that is distributed via CDROM, the app is signed by a code signing certificate and timestamped. In mid-August when my certicate expired my users started calling stating that they couldn't install our product due to the following error: "Sorry, an error has occured. The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author." From my understanding a timestamped application is taken at a point in time when it's generated so why would it matter if the certificate was still valid? I have since replaced the certificate and will need to redistribute to my (thousands of) users however when I test it out using a future date and time the same error occurs. Any information to help resolve this would be grately appreciated.my command:

is generated when an AIR installation file is lauched from a Samba Network Drive in Vista Utlimate 64. If the install files are copied to a local drive, it installs without incident.Working with networks drives are never reliable. Corruption, path problems, networks connections, and privlatges can come in the way of a properly mapped drive. I think your solution is fairly straight forward. You need to install your application from a local filesystem, not a mapped network drive. In the meantime, log a bug report HERE.

I'm sorry you're having problems installing/uninstalling air. Have you tried rebooting to see if that resolves the issue?
If it still fails, can you enable MSI logging using the instructions found on the following page and then post the msi log contents for review?

I hit the download button and then hit save. It downloaded something, but that was it. So I went back and hit "save and run" and this message appears. Have you tried restarting your computer? It is possible you have a pending update or even another piece of software being installed which is preventing the installation.

Choose No at the first prompt so that you can check how it works track by track, then confirm or edit the location of the media folder where your files are. I downloaded Mail Update for Mac OS X 10.5.6 and was told it could not be installed because it was from an unidentified developer. Tried installing download from MailUpdate & advised the disk did not meet the requirements for update. Expect it's due to being at 10.9.1. Mail is still teetering between dysfunctional and non-functional. Advice?
I'm not sure what "Mail Update for Mac OS X 10.5.6" is. Mac OS X 10.5.6 is Leopard, a system that is quite old at this point. There have not been any Mail updates for Leopard in quite some time. If you are trying to install some old Mail update for Mac OS X 10.5.6 in Mavericks, that won't work.
If you are trying to install the Mavericks Mail update manually, that's not necessary if you have updated through the App Store. If the App Store shows no updates, you don't need this. (The error message doesn't make sense, and may indicate some other problem with your system, assuming that you were downloading this update from Apple's site.)
I'd advise you to start a new topic in the Mavericks forum and describe the problems you are having with Mail. Be sure to include specifics, but try to avoid speculating on causes, as responses that may be related to an inaccurate assumption on your part can cloud the issue. -
EVERY start-up I have to wait while Firefox says 'installing update' and than 'The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on your computer, and then restart Firefox to try again' while there are no other versions running!
It was due to using an old version of Adobe Air. There really should be a tighly coupled error that either updates Adobe Air for me, or links me to the update. I was only able to find the solution using intuition as a techy.
Now I can install the Muse demo. -

When I tried from the Firefox website I got: /Users/(deleted for privacy)/Desktop/Firefox 3.6.3(2).dmg.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.
