Will Software Updates in the Mac App Store also indicate updates for my Apple peripherals likes Apple Wireless Keyboard, Magic Trackpad and Airport express 2nd gen?

If you have an AppleTV 2 it does not need a power lead at all when connected over USB.
Ceryain USB to microUSB leads are power only not data, so it could bethe lead.
Also if having issues remove all non-essential USB peripherals/hubs.

Software updates for Apple TV using HDMI. My MacBook Pro 2013 does not recognize the Apple TV as a device. I've tried plugging in HDMI first then AC; AC then HDMI; re-start, etc. The Apple TV doesn't update through TV and ethernet cable. Apple TV is 2012 but I can't see it anywhere in order to see for sure.

Yup, updated my Apple TV and got sky news and a couple of other new apps I will never use. I am growing increasingly fed up with looking at all the good stuff there is on offer in America and nothing in the UK..... I know I shouldn't look :)
And it's not just Apple I suppose, checking out the apple and Microsoft US movie stores and they have a much better selection. Wish we all had the willpower to stop giving these companies money until they fulfil customer needs...

Apple Mobile Device Service is included in the installation of iTunes. As long as you have the most up to date version of iTunes on your computer, you will have the most up to date driver. Are you having any issues with iTunes and syncing your devices?

Has HP released a software update for Apple's new Lion OS (10.7.2)? My HP OfficeJet 6500A Plus can't find my computer most of the time. scan to computer no longer works since I installed Lion. Now the printer is not recognizing an HP-brand yellow ink cartridge--I've installed TWO new ones already! What a waste. HELP!

Had a text from Nokia on my 3 N8 today saying keep your N8 up to date.
Couldn't find an update through 3, but went to the UK Nokia website and managed to update from software version 011.012 to 013.016 which takes the release from PR1.0 to PR1.1
Update went very smoothly.
Still trying to track down specific details of the fixes and improvements in this update.
However, I have read that in April 2011 there will be a Release PR2.0
I am particularly interested in this as I understand that it will allow user-defined bookmarks to be added to the Home Screen with their particular "icon" rather than the generic icon, so that you can see in a sort of (dare I say it here?) iPhone way which webpage you are going to access...

Submit updates for Apple Maps

I'm looking to make updates to Apple Maps more substantial than the built-in reporting tool for the app. Does Apple have a web-based reporting tool so I can track my request and/or discuss with a technician the best course of action? The building address for my companies location is incorrect and is currently not searchable on Apple Maps.
I've looked around on the community forums a bit, but the majority of threads are related to issues with the Maps application and not error-reporting resources.
Also there doesn't seem to be a category for Maps-specific issues, so I've selected the iPad community for such a question.

Just got off the phone with AppleCare and Technical Support and the roundabout answer to my original question is: No, app submission process is more or less the only method of sending update requests. You can open a case ID with tech support in parallel just to have something to check up on, but it's likely not worth it since it probably won't be updated on their end.
In regards to that strange reply and link - Nobody at Apple had any idea what that site was or how that reply got to me. We looked up the bogus case number and it had nothing to do with what I had initially reported. I took all of the information I could and submitted it to Apple feedback (per recommendation from the AppleCare tech). If I get any more info on what exactly happened with the malicious emails I'll post it here.

Mail update for Apple "Me"

Anyone run into a problem updating to the new Apple "Me" system? My office Mac refuses to acknowledge the new update for Me. My Mail application will not run now. My Mac at home found the update and is running fine with the new ME apps. This Mac does not see it, even when I run Software update manually. I've never run into this before.
Any suggestions out there?

Most people that have reported being successful, including me, have had to first access their .Mac via the Icon in System Preferences, after which the update was then seen in Software Update. You must also be running 10.5.4, and possibly have had to update iTunes, but not certain about that.

The latest update for apple tv (2nd gen) broke ethernet dns

After the lastest update to Apple TV (Early November 2011) the DNS over ethernet no longer works properly. The apple TV ends up with an external IP address instead of the internal IP address assigned by my Linksys router. The wireless connection works fine, but the ethernet is not usable. All my other devices on my lan work fine (iPod, iPad, computers, squeezebox, etc).
How do I file a report to Apple?

Will iWork apps ever be updated for Apple's 'Open In...' API?

I use Apple's 'Open In...' feature from DropBox to send documents to Pages/Numbers. Then, Apple doesn't support their own 'Open In...' API feature to send back to DropBox, Adobe or other.

So I email edited documents to myself, and then from Mail.app open back into DropBox. So unnecessary.
Really? Or am I missing something.

1) I don't use drop box, does it actually open numbers files? Or just store them? If its storing them, then open in would not make sense.
2) You would have to make a good business case for apple to want to open their proprietary iWork formats in other competitors applications for editing. They want you to use their app to do it.

By default, Software Update will automatically check for updates on a regular basis.
You can adjust what those settings are. To do that, choose System Preferences in the Apple menu; in the new window, click the icon for Software Update. The window will change to reflect the current settings for Software Update -
You can change those settings if you wish.
Note the selection button for "Installed Software" near the top of that window - if you click that, it will display a list of all software updates that have been installed.

Why is there no HBO go on the Uk update for apple tv

Can someone tell me why, no HBO on the UK update, im a bit gutted to be truthful, if there is a UK version of Apple tv why have we got american football and american this n that, i never watch it nor do others i know who have got a apple tv you should put Uk media on the box like BBC Iplayer Itvplayer and so on.

Having trouble as so many are with my 2nd gen apple tv dropping the home network since the update. I would like to go back to the last software install. Hey apple. . . you should fix this. . . We are all having trouble. You have made my box useless. I am a big fan of apple, but it would be difficult to sell a friend on this box if it won't keep the network through one show. . .

try updating the firmware of the wifi router
