Updates for IPhoto

I have just purchased a new IMac and have Lion OS X 10.7.2 on it but I still get this message when I try to download the update for IPhoto.
iPhoto can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because Mac OS X version 10.7.2 or later is required. You can update Mac OS X using Software Update
Any ideas?
Cheers

Check again in  > About this mac for the version number.  Most new Macs don't have 10.7.2 on them, they need to be updated to that level using  > Software update..

Hard Drive warning when upgrading to Mountain Lion. 2nd try and I was able to upgrade. Software update for IPhoto, had problems restarting. Do I need my hard drive checked

    Yes.
Choose Apple menu > Restart. Hold down the Command (⌘) and R keys as your computer restarts.
When you see a white screen with an Apple logo in the middle, you can release the keys.
Click Disk Utility, and then click Continue.
In the list at the left, select the item you want to repair. (Be sure to select an item that’s indented to the right in the list, not an item at the far left.)
    Click First Aid.
If Disk Utility tells you the disk is about to fail, back it up and replace it. You can’t repair it.
    Click Repair Disk.
If Disk Utility reports that the disk appears to be OK or has been repaired, you’re done.
Otherwise, you may need to do one of the following steps.
If Disk Utility can’t repair your disk or it reports “The underlying task reported failure,” try to repair the disk or partition again. If that doesn’t work, back up as much of your data as possible, reformat the disk, reinstall Mac OS X, and then restore your backed-up data.
If you continue to have problems with your disk, it may be physically damaged and need to be replaced

  • Did an update for iphoto and now it won't open

I just did a recent update for iphoto and now it just freezes and won't open.

As a test  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?

  • Update for iphoto ....and i can't find my library or any of my pictures!

    Hello Wayne,
well recently did the update for iphoto ....and i can't find my library or any of my pictures! I tried the same procudere that you suggested for numbers and pages, but that did not work. I don't even see the previous iphoto...Do you have any suggestions for this?
    Thank you.
    Edna

Sorry but you need to give details to get help. What version of iPhoto? Of the OS? What upgrade did you just do? Who is Wayne - never sevens anyone named Wayne in this forum? What was the procedure tat was recommended (I doubt that any trouble shooting hints for numbers or pages would apply to iPhoto)?

  • What happens if you perform certain component update for iphoto '11 on mac twice?

Hi i know it sounds ridiculous and silly question to begin with, maybe i'm just being a little paranoid the thing is that i have update a certain component update for iphoto '11 twice which is "digital raw compatibility update 4.0.3" via automatic app store update on mac and manually via apple support update; the question is that will it replace the update that has been installed earlier on via automatic app store update with the one i have just installed manually via apple support site?, will it take an extra disk space or just rewrite itself cause i don't want to have a dupe update on my mac? and finally will it affect future updates for that particular component? (such as not being detected on app store automatically if new version has arrive?)
    Thanks guys in advance

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Probably the version downloaded from Apple Support has overwritten the App Store version, although it's strange that the computer has allowed you to install the same update twice. Apart from this, you won't have any problem in the future and probably it hasn't taken more space of the hard drive

  • Updates for iPhoto in Mountain Lion, on a work computer.

Updates for iPhoto in Mountain Lion are only available from the App Store. I'm on a new iMac which is a work computer, owned by my employer, and don't want to enter my credit card details.  The brand new iMac came with iPhoto installed, so I don't see why I should purchase updates for it.
Does anyone have a similar experience or any advice please?

You don't have to but you need to enter the Apple ID and passowrd for that Apple ID from the person that registered that Mac. So the owner would have those and if not they need to create an Apple ID for the company. As without one no updates can be done on that system.
In your tags it says you are using OS X 10.4.11. If that is incorrect please change it to the correct version of OS X. Which if this is a New iMac it should be 10.8.x.
Also why are you using iPhoto on a work computer? If you're not a photographer, or deal with images as part of your job then there's no real reason to update iPhoto. And if you are dealing with images as part of your job then you need a better image management program then iPhoto.

  • HT1338 When I click on the iPhoto icon, this message pops up; "You can't use this version of the application iPhoto with this version of Mac OS X." This started happening after I applied the update for iPhoto. How do I fix this?

I installed the update for iPhoto and now iPhoto won't open. Help!

Have you tried deleting the plist from the Library folder?
If this doesn't work, you could import the old version of iPhoto version of iPhoto from Time Machine and try the update again.

  • Available updates for iphoto and imovie on apple store.

My apple informs me that I have available updates for iphoto and imovie, however when I try to update them I receive a message that i can't do this because I do not have the major version. How to proceed?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Open Finder and go to the folder where these applications are. Then, move them to Applications folder. Finally, open the App Store and update them to the most recent version. If it doesn't work, see if they are hidden, and if they are hidden, unhide them > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4928

Update notification for Iphoto and when I attempt to install it says I need at least version 10.8.2 installed, when I check my software update it says I have the newest software with 10.8.1?

Thanks, I thought so... but when I look for a newer version I takes me to the mac app update page but doesnt show  any updates available other than Iphoto? I guess my real question is how do I update my software when nothing shows in the mac app updates?
