Updates in progress - status non-compliant

I deployed my latest software updates (Patch Tuesday) a few days ago to my XP client collection (yes - I know it's going away soon :)) and I see that looking at the Deployment Status they are reading as
In progress but status set to non-compliant.
Strangely I had pushed the same deployment to my test collection a week previously and they had installed normally.
I had a look at various logs and everything seems to have no discernible errors but looking at a sample of the computers in question shows that the updates have NOT installed.
Opening the 'more details' pane for each computer shows that the software updates are set to a status of
required.
Confused as to where to look now to troubleshoot.
My software update deployment to my Windows 7 collection is successful. No errors in the deployment status window.
Any help or pointers are appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Hi,
If these update logs have no discernible errors, you could enable verbose logging to help you find more information.
Please check the logs in the following KB to find why were these updates not installed.

  • Non-Compliant Devices

    Hello,
    I have a collection of PC's I have deployed Windows Updates to. Some of the PC's are reporting as in-progress but non-compliant.
    How do I get this to reset so the software can check the compliance again... Its seems like once they are non-compliant there is nothing you can do to get them out of this state..
    Cheers.

    There's a script in the SDK that can be used to re-send state messages. It might solve the problem.

  • Updates - In Progress Non-Compliant

    I have a Win 7 software update group that I have pushed out to several clients. Many of them come back successful, but I have some that are In Progress with a status of Non-Compliant.
    I am trying to determine the best flow to troubleshoot this issue. When I look at the asset details on the client in the deployment and it lists all the updates under the software Updates tab, I can see a list of all the updates and what's installed and
    what is listed as required. However, these updates are a part of the software update package, so I am little bit lost on why it isn't just downloading and installing them. When I look at this on all the systems having the same problem, it isn't consistently
    the same updates on each one.
    Also, since pushing out the updates, I see it's downloaded several in the ccmcache, so it is receiving that information and downloading from the DP.

  • Devices in Deployment status show up as Non-Compliant

    In the deployment status section of SCCM 2012 we have 6 of the 10 servers listed in the In-Progress tab which are Non-compliant. 3 of the servers are list as Downloaded Updates. Verified that the boundaries are set up correctly and check relevant logs and
    no software updates are being pushed out to the servers almost an hour into the maintenance window. Not sure what the cause is, could use all the help I can get. Thanks!

    Hi,
    Is the client healthy?(CcmEval.log, ClientIDManagerStartup.log, ClientLocation.log, LocationServices.log)
    Could the client communicate with MP? Please check CcmMessaging.log and open
    http://<MP Name>/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mplist in IE on the client to see whether it can find the MP.
    Best Regards,
    Joyce

  • ISE 1.2 - Posture Detail Assessment - enforcement audit mode report not show status for non-compliant

    ISE 1.2 - Posture Detail Assessment - enforcement audit mode report not show status for non-compliant.
    - For old version 1.1.4 it can be reported for non-compliant, How can I generate report for this?
    Thanks
    Kosin Usuwanthim

    It used to be in there (id 226635 is the last one with it); should I clean it up a bit and put it back with a bit more of a disclaimer?

  • SCCM 2012 R2 - Last Enforcement State is Non-Compliant

    Hi,
    I deployed Windows updates to my Desktop collection as Requred updates. Then, I run summarization and saw various last enforcement states: compliant, unknown and
    in progress (including downloading, installing, reboot required etc).
    Then I deployed Windows updates to my Servers collection as Available updates. In this case, I see in
    In Progress section only Non-Compliant status. No records about Reboot required state etc. I ran many times the Software Update cycle on client, but no changes.
    In but deployments I set Message level on Detailed.
    Is it a normal behaviour for Available updates?

    Because the SU are set to available, the SU will not automatically download and apply, therefore you are less likely to see anything but non-compliant and compliant.
    Yes there is a small chance that you will see other status messages but that is strictly a timing issue. As you happened to run the report at the exact moment that someone is installing the SU on a server.

  • JApplet / application init / start progress status feedback

    We used to put up a separate JFrame during the initization/startup of our applets/applications for status messages. While o.k. for Java Webstart / application modes (& maybe standalone applet mode), this was not pretty for customers embedding our apps in portals.
    So, the goal became to show custom progress/status on the "gray screen" initial applet contentpane until our app desktop is ready to show. Known threading / painting issues during applet startup made this task somewhat non-trival.
    Searched around here on the jdc & found a nice little Moving Ball class & used that as a base for the play app below. Thought I'd post this back to jdc in case anyone else finds it useful. The JApplet code has a main, so same code should work for the app whether deployed as a (plug-in) applet, application JAR or Web Start app.
    The code should show a RED moving ball during init, a YELLOW one during start and a GREEN one after start method is done (w/ball x position update in scrolling pane)....
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.WindowListener;
    import java.awt.event.WindowAdapter;
    import java.awt.event.WindowEvent;
        cforster: Uses Ball painting code (from jdc) & separate status area to simulate JApplet
        startup msgs to be shown to user during applet init...
        Point is to show status during applet/application initialization (init / start) methods...
        Can JAR this up & try in appletviewer or using 1.4.2+ plugin, etc.
        With main() also usable in application / Webstart mode....
        If going the application route (or double-click JAR route), need JAR manifest.mf like:

  • Error updating a progress palette window

    I am updating the progress palette window for each file executed using the fileIterator code that Bob was kind enough to provide. I am updating the status text with the name of each file. This works the first and second time, but on the third iteration I am getting the error:
    Processed ( 0 ): 2005-01-12_0026nanaimo%20second%20growth.jpg
    Processed ( 1 ): 20050104_0004.jpg
    {LiveObject("StaticText").property(0x027f9a58)} is undefined
    When I look at the statictext member it no longer has a text field in the data browser.
    Has anyone encountered this type of error?

    Rory,
    I assume you're playing with the BridgeTalkIterator?
    If so, when you add your message to the Iterator queue, the arguments are:
    btIterator.addMessage( target, script, filename )
    If you include the file name on the addMessage call, it will show the filename in the progress palette for you.
    As for the amazing disappearing statictext element, I have no idea how that could be happening from the iterator itself.
    Could you post the line(s) of code you are using to update the progress palette? It's possible you are overwriting a key property or method name of the statictext element.

  • NON-COMPLIANT: ..oraInst.loc doesn't point to inventory inside ORACLE_HOME

    Hello Gurus:
    I have just migrated and upgraded EBS 11i to 12.1.1 and now having trouble with the oraInventory setup.
    I have the three $ORACLE_HOMEs for 11.2.0 rdbms, 10.1.2 & 10.1.3 for the apps.
    cat /etc/oraInst.loc
    inventory_loc=/etc/oraInventory
    inst_group=oinstall
    RDBMS:
    cat /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/oraInst.loc
    inventory_loc=/etc/oraInventory
    inst_group=oinstall
    10.1.2 :
    cat /u02/applfind/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/oraInst.loc
    inventory_loc=/etc/oraInventory
    inst_group=oinstall
    10.1.3 :
    cat /u02/applfind/apps/tech_st/10.1.3/oraInst.loc
    inventory_loc=/etc/oraInventory
    inst_group=oinstall
    First there is no ouicli.pl in RDBMS home so I use ./runInstaller -silent -attachHome to add it to the inventory
    For 10.1.2 & 10.1.3 Homes, when I use ouicli.pl it give me errors:
    cd $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/clone
    ./ouicli.pl
    Out put:
    NON-COMPLIANT: /u02/applfind/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/oraInst.loc does not point to an inventory inside the current ORACLE_HOME
    Rapid Clone only supports oraInst.loc at that location if its content points to an inventory inside the same ORACLE_HOME

    How to Recreate the Global oraInventory [ID 295185.1]
    Global and Local Inventory explained [ID 360079.1]
    1) Looking at my oraInst.loc entries above what am I missing?
    2) Should there be a local and then a Global inventory? And if so, how is each defined - especially the Local inventory?
    3) How to I get ouicli.pl to update both local and global inventories as it is supposed to do?
    4) Why is it that When I changed the entry of /u02/applfind/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/oraInst.loc to:
    inventory_loc=/u02/applfind/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/oraInventory
    The /etc/oraInventory/ContentsXML/inventory.xml will not be updated?

    Hello Hussein,
    We are Migrating and upgrading EBS 11i on a 32 bit ULN 4 to EBS 12.1.3 on an x86-64 bit ULN following doc 557738.1 (Export/import notes ....)
    We are currently at 12.1.1 and preparing to move onto 12.1.3.
    The folder $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/clone/bin on this new server and installation f 12.1.1 does not contain adcfgclone.pl as needed by Note 458653.1
    Note [ID 742477.1] (How to create, update or rebuild the Central Inventory for Applications R12) called for using $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/clone/ouicli.pl in the 11.2.0 rdbms ORACLE_HOME but this file (ouicli.pl) is also not there? It is nevertheless presnet in the in 10.1.2 & 10.1.3 ORACLE_HOMEs.
    1) Looking at my three oraInst.loc entries above what am I missing?
    2) Should there be two inventories (Local & Global)? And if so, how is each defined - especially the Local inventory?
    3) How do I get ouicli.pl to update both local and global inventories as it is supposed to do? From the error (NON-COMPLIANT: /u02/applfind/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/oraInst.loc does not point to an inventory inside the current ORACLE_HOME), ouicli.pl apparenlty needs a local inventory but how do I define both?
    4) Why is it that when I changed the entry of /u02/applfind/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/oraInst.loc to:
    inventory_loc=/u02/applfind/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/oraInventory
    The /etc/oraInventory/ContentsXML/inventory.xml will not be updated?
    Thanks very much

  • Deployment Question and non-compliant

    Hi, I have a question about deployments and non-compliant systems. Since we updated to 2012 R2 I have had many patching deployments fail with non-compliant messages. If I bring up the deployment it shows many are installed and many are Required.
    Could anyone answer the following question?
    If for example I am deploying a IE 11 patch to Windows 7 machines that does not have IE 11 installed yet would that give the non-compliant error because it cannot install the IE11 patch? This would also apply to .Net 4 and 4.5 for example. We deploy Software
    Update Groups based on Operating Systems so every month I search for every patch non-expired and not superseded for the OS in question and then make the software update group based on that. I figured if the software update group had a patch for a product like
    IE 11 that was not installed on the device yet it just would not install it.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
    If the update isn't applicable let's say that IE11 is not installed it will not report it as non-compliant and it will not report it as required either so you should be fine in the reports.

  • Machine shows Non compliant in SCCM 2012R2 Configuration Manager

    We are using 2012 sccm R2 and one of our client machine shows non compliant in the reports. When we check the machine , we found that all the required and approved patches are downloaded . So it should be a compliant machine .
    SCCm Clinet is ACtive and we are able to run the cycles from the machine too. Would like to know what all steps that we need to perform for solving the issue.
    Server OS 2008 R2
    Thanks

    if client having wmi issues pertaining to configmgr,then it will not (most cases) send the inventory .check the inventoryagent.log .To fix WMI issues.you can try the script http://eskonr.com/2009/03/how-to-troubleshoot-the-systems-which-has-wmi-issues-rebuild-wmi-repository/
    if you are sure that,client is functioning normal and the issue is only with software update compliance,you can try refresh the compliance state using script https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc146437.aspx.

  • Progress status question

    I am trying to find a way to make an indicator that just loops to let the user know that some action is happening. I don't have any information to update the progress, as the work is being done by a third party and can take up to 60 seconds to time out. I was just wondering if there was a class that addresses this situation or should I just use an animated .gif to give the user the 'warm fuzzy' feeling that something is still happening. I looked at the JProgressBar class but it is a typical progress bar and I need something more like a status indicator.
    Thank you for any information,
    Hiro

    Just kidding, just use a timer for your progress bar, once you know longer need it, kill the timer to stop the bar.

Do not disconnect the device. Then below that the blue status bar is nearly at the end but has been for hours. I think it's stuck but I'm unsure of what to do. Please help someone thanks

  • Non-Compliant Issue

    Can anyone explain to me why the following item is considered non-compliant on this list? It states for the reason that it could not find a compatible TPM, but when you look at the details it clearly shows that it is encrypted and that TPM is the protector
    type.

    I answered my own question on this one.  It is apparently a bug in MBAM 2.5 when using AES-256 with Diffuser.  I installed Hotfix KB2975636 on the client system and it corrected in the next update without an issue.
    If anyone else is looking for this Hotfix, here is the link.

  • Browser unable to update the service status bits

    I am having an issue with my computer becoming non-working. After a period of time of inactivity and then I go to use the computer, I can move the mouse cursor around but can do nothing else. I have noticed that when moving the cursor around that when I move it to the task-bar I get the hour glass waiting icon. I checked the event viewer and in the applications log I have numerous errors which say "The browser was unable to update the service status bits" Can you explain this and are there any fixes? Thank you

    Hi Avinash,
    Yes, CTS_BROWSER service is active. It was working before when I click to test. Unfortunately, it started throwing error. We are on SP13 in SOLMAN. I'm using solman as an ABAP stack.
    Thanks for your time.
