Updates installing or waiting for 2 days

I have a number of updates that are waiting or installing and have been for 2 days. They seem stuck but I can't delete the apps or do anything to them. Any ideas?

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

I have been waiting for two days for an app to install on my iPad. Seems like something is stuck as it just keeps displaying "installing". I'm getting tired of people who supposedly know what

Thanks for the suggestion... but I think my first question would be why these parameters would need re-setting? This is a new machine... It has never been shut down hard. It is used at most 10 hours per week... mostly using Office 2004 for MAC. I need to figure this out as I will soon need it as a Cs2/CS3 - Aperture workhorse.
I too agree that it is best not to use a sledge when a scalpel is needed... but as a novice to the MAC world I may have been misled by Apple support. I seems to have fixed the symptoms ( some) but appears NOT to have addressed the cause... which is what I am after.

One of my apps is "waiting" for an update. Its been "waiting" for 4 days. It wont delete (so I can re load it). Sadly its not in i tunes as I put it on after the last sync and it wont for some reason sync either. Any ideas?

One of my apps (actually on my daughters i phone 5) has been "waiting for 4 days to update. Rebooting doesnt cure it nor does trying to delete it - it wont delete. I have looked at her i tunes account but she hasnt sync that for ages and the actual app isnt in i tunes but just on the phone. For some reason the syncing isnt working either in realtion to this app. There is adeqaute memory - good strong wifi signal. Any ideas??

Download the app on iTunes under her account (you've already paid - you won't have to again), then sync the app across to the phone that way and it should clear it up.
It's possible the app is too large to do over the air and it started on wifi but wasn't able to continue and got corrupted.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Have you already logged into one account on it and used iTunes Match, automatic downloads and/or download past purchases from that account ? If you have then it will be associated to that account for 90 days, as mentioned on the page that you posted from. I have heard rumours of an 8.1 update for developers. I just found another bug in 10.9.5. I am beginning to think that nobody should touch any update from Apple until they can get their very serious Q/A problems sorted out. This is getting bad.

Windows Update installed the drivers for the wrong sound card?

I need serious help with this one.
It all started October 31st when I find that Windows Update lists an update for my sound card - a Sound Blaster Li've! 24bit internal card. I install it, reboot, and realize that my sound is not coming through the speakers (Note, sound was working before I installed this update. I'm not even sure if the sound card is processing to it). I realized that Windows Update seemed to have installed the drivers for the wrong sound card. It installed drivers for "SB Audigy" (it was originally SB Li've!), why they chose to be so generic - I don't know. I later find out that not even Creative's website has this updated driver, but apparently, only Windows Update is issuing this out.
But wait, it gets even more frustrating.
So I don't have System Restore enabled (big resource hog), and I need to go back to the older drivers. I originally do a driver rollback using the Device Manager, which made the drivers go back to what they were before - but still wasn't outputting sound. I think even though the older drivers were being used by Windows, the software that Creative issued wasn't picking up this fact and thought I still using the newer ones for Audigy. So I decided to uninstall everything and start with an actual driver installation executable from Creative's website (SB24_PCDRV_LB__04_0090.exe). What I found out was that if new drivers are detected, I can't actually install over them.
However, if I uninstall the drivers using the Device Manager, it'll automatically install everything - the control panel, the preferences, drivers, etc for the new "SB Audigy" drivers that were issued Oct 3st once I scan for hardware changes. The reason I need to scan for hardware changes is because if I uninstall the drivers from the Device Manager, it'll remove the instance of "SB Audigy" from the list. This causes problems for the installer for the older drivers (SB24_PCDRV_LB__04_0090.exe) because now it thinks there isn't any hardware to install the drivers for (all because I haven't made the Device Manager actually discover my actual sound card, yet unless I press "Scan for Hardware changes" which as a result, will install the newer drivers from Oct 3st automatically. I hope this makes sense so far).
So now I can't uninstall the newer incorrect drivers so I can install the older ones for the actual sound card. Normally I heard that you can change something in the new driver's installation executable to properly uninstall everything. Only problem is, Windows Update doesn't exactly tell you where it's downloading the driver/hardware installation files. I know in the Software Distribution you can find Windows Update stuff downloading there - but I couldn't find the SB Audigy driver update it keeps installing while "scanning for hardware changes" in the Device Manager.
This was incredibly hard to put into detail, so I hope that it makes a little bit of sense. If you need clarification on anything please let me know and I'll do anything to help eliminate the problem. Just remember I have:
Windows 7 x64
Sound Blaster Li've! 24bit
I think the only problem I'd like to solve is - how could I install older drivers if Windows keeps installing the newer ones even after I uninstall them? Because right now, I can't do much unless I know how to get rid of the installation files for the Oct 3st update so it won't have anything to use. Another way to rephrase the question is, how could I get the Device Manager in Windows to display my soundcard as "Multimedia Audio Controller" for as long as I need so I can run SB24_PCDRV_LB__04_0090.exe which will then detect that there is a sound card that can use the drivers and install them properly?

Click on Start> ALL Programs > Creative > Creative Audio Console.
Make sure speakers are set to 5. if that's what you're using. I like to Synchronize with Windows Control Panel. Turn EAX to No effects, and/or turn effects to 0%. On the CMSS 3D Tab, turn the Mode to OFF.

I Tunes, I have tried to install this program for 2 days.

I have been trying for 2 days to install i Tunes on a WIndows Vista Home Premium 64 bit laptop. All updates current, have never had so much as a hiccup with this laptop.
I have received one error after the other, Error 4204, was the first. I read all the articles on that error and followed all of the directions to resolve it to no avail. I finallyI found an article that told me what to uninstall, i Tunes, boudour, Apple Application Helper, and bought a professional uninstall program to make that work. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Now it's telling me that Apple Application Support was not found.
I cannot find, easily at least, how to contact support for help. As a support professional this has been a time wasting, frustrating experience. My company wanted to know if I thought it would be alright to allow our traveling users to install iTunes so they could have music while traveling; I can find no justification for the support issues it would cause.
So, I guess my only personal choice is Rhapsody which installed perfectly.
I really wanted to use i Tunes.

My 160 G Ipod classic only turns on after waiting for a day or two?

My Ipod classic started acting up the other day. I don't know why. I thought it was completely toast but i left it alone for a day and then i turned it on again. Then i restored it and that helped for a bit, but then the same thing happened again? any ideas on this issue.

First thing to do is to check the iPod Hardisk health, by doing the iPod Disk Diagnostics, refer to this excellent post by tt2.
It wont fix your problem, but help us in troubleshooting, and saving a lot of frustrations, with suggestions like Reset, Restore, Re-install etc.

I dropped my iPhone 4 & cracked its screen. Apple wants me to pay for replacement unit (I agree), turn in my old phone (??) & wait for 6 days (no problem). What do I do to access emails, Internet & make/receive calls during these 6 days?

I dropped my iPhone 4 & cracked its screen. I went to the service center to get it repaired. SInce it is not under warranty, i was willing to pay for repair charges.
They told me that the screen can not be repaired or changed, but they can replace my damaged set with an equivalent set, on payment of RM 760, roughly, 25-30% cost of a new one. I agreed.
They told me to:
1/ pay upfront
2/ leave my old set with them
3/ and the replacement unit will be delivered in 4-6 days.
I agreed on 1& 3 but not to leave my damaged set with them because it is still working and I don't have another spare phone with me, to serve me the 4-6 day waiting period.
THe service center guy told me that if I want a replacement, I have to agree to all 3 conditions and that I should buy another phone for 6 days. I told him that I constantly need email & Internet access, as part of my work responsibilities, so I can not do with a simple phone. It obviously, doesn't make sense to buy an expensive smart phone, go thru the trouble of transferring my data & mails & contacts - just for a week.
Unfortunately, all these logics fell on deaf ears & the service centre guy kept insisting on ALL of the above conditions.
I came back so flustered & upset.
I thought customer service was about solving problems & not creating hurdles for customers.
what should I do?

What would you do for transportation if you drove your car into a tree and had to wait while it was fixed? You'd need to rent, borrow or buy another car, no? The same applies to your phone. This is not Apple's problem; if the service center does not have replacements in stock for immediate swap-out, then it's up to you to provide a backup device or do without.
If you're in a country where Apple provides direct service for iPhones, you may be able to call Apple support and arrange for advance replacement, where they send you the replacement phone and then you send back the old one. Apple offers such service in several countries, though you have to pay an extra fee for the service. If not, then you'll just have to wait for the service center to get in the replacement, and will have to arrange an alternative to use during that time.

They locked it originally and it is their gift to unlock ....usually in their own time.
