Updates not appearing in App Store

I'm not seeing all the Software Updates in the App Store that I expect to be there, e.g Safari 6.1 (I'm on 6.0.5)
iTunes 11 shows up (I'm hanging on to v10!!) along with a couple of purchased apps, but Safari, ProApplicationsUpdate & Remote Access disappeared after I installed the 10.8.5 supplimentary update.
I followed suggestions in this post: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5467486
I've also trashed ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
No difference.
Can anyone help? Thanks.

Paul - both excellent suggestions, but alas, no joy. I forced a Spotlight reindexing of the startup drive (by excluding it, then removing the exclusion), but it still doesn't see any updates in the App Store. All the usual boxes are checked in the Pref pane, though even if they weren't, I would think that a manual check would still show updates available if appropriate.
In further pondering the issue, it occured to me that my wife's iMac has the same issue. While she is signed into the App Store with my account (she doesn't buy any apps on her own for her Mac), I'm wondering if it could somehow be an issue with my network that the App Store doesn't like? I am double-NAT'ed, as I want to be able to use my various Airports together (for AirPlay, etc), but also can't totally disable my U-verse router, either - I wonder if there's something weird going on becaue of that.

  • OS X updates not appearing in App Store?

Ever since I upgraded to Mountain Lion last year, OS updates are not appearing in the App Store. Updates for all Apple and non-Apple applications purchased through the App Store appear with no issue, but point updates to OS X 10.8, Java updates, Safari updates, Digital Camera RAW updates, printer driver updates, etc. never appear in the App Store; I have to download all of those directly from Apple's support site. This is usually just an annoyance, but with the release of Safari 6.0.4, there doesn't seem to be any way to get the update except via the App Store, and it's not appearing there for me.
This issue has persisted across an update to a new machine last December, when I got a new 21.5" iMac to replace my 2009 27" machine, so there is clearly something in my user folder that is causing the issue, but I have no idea what it might be. Anybody have any ideas?

  • Why does that app update not clear in App Store on iTunes Sync?

I have noticed this as a problem ever since I upgraded to iOS8. I always update my apps on my iOS devices by a sync with iTunes. The reason I do this is because I do not like the annoying blue dot beside the app after I update it until I actually open the app. I have been doing this successfully for years. Now that I am on iOS8 I still sync to update but the update badge will not reset even though the app store knows the app is updated. The badge only goes away (resets itself) when there is a new update available in the app store. To overcome this I have turn off notification in the app store so I do not have to see the badge on my screen but I don't understand why iOS 8 is creating this problem. This did not occur in iOS 7 or 6. I thought it was initially because I installed a Beta app for Accompli but that was not correct because I did a complete restore and rebuilt my iOS device from scratch, did not install a backup. Is anybody else having this problem?
    Here is how to duplicate:
Wait for you to have apps to update on your iOS device but don't update them through the device.  You will need to make sure the auto update for Apps is turned off.
Download the updates for the Apps in iTunes.
Make sure you have the box check in iTunes to for "Automatically install new apps".
    Sync
iTunes will sync and update the apps on your device and there will be no blue dots on the update. However, the app store on your device will see that there is no update available any more, the button beside the app in the update section will say open instead of update, but the badge will not reset.  Used to be the badge would reset and they updates would no longer appear in the app store at all.

I assume no one has encountered this before?

  • Software updates not downloading from App store

    Hi,
I have 9 updates available in the app store. When I select update all or even update one of them, all I get is the whirling ball. I turned off my antiviral software but it still isn't working. Any ideas?

I found the problem. I think the AVG antiviral was blocking the download. They updated it a couple of days ago. I turned it off. But it didn't solve the problem. I restarted my computer. When I opened AVG I noticed it was updating again. Im guessing that they found out that they were blocking updates. Now the updates are downloading and installing.  I still have AVG turned of while I'm updating all my software for Yosemite..

  • IWork 09 installed via CD-ROM does not appear in app store as "installed"

I have a legal copy of iWork 09 installed via CD-ROM, it does not appear as "installed" in the app store. Any idea why?

    Thanks Joey.
Will the application still "update" normally?
Haven't had any updates for a while. Just curious if it had something to do with the fact that it does not appear on the app store.

  • 10.8.2 Update not in the app store

Ive just brought a new mac book pro and there isnt an option to update to 10.8.2 mountain lion in the App store.....any idea why not? Its a current release?
Im looking in the updates folder where i have currently an update for iPhoto and itunes but not for 10.8.2?
    Any ideas would help.
    Tom

Nice! So thats what the site says...but you can clearly see the image above that happens on 2 seperate macbook retinas now...
iPhoto 9.4.2 clearly states on the app store it requires 10.7.5 or greater, but with 10.8.1 it won't download (as seen above)....the app store refuses to let you download it unless you are on 10.8.2...
On another note, I was able to solve my iPhoto issue.
I was able to command + Option on iPhoto launch and rebuild my iPhoto library.
It was then able to correct the too up to date Library and then open it in iPhoto 9.3...sweet - one happy Apple Consultant here now!
So If for some reason you get a new laptop, and do all of the updates and your iPhoto still says it can't open because your iPhoto isn't on 9.4.2 (see pic above)...all you have to do is rebuild your iPhoto library and it will correct it.
Would love to be on the newest iPhoto but evidently that won't happen until 10.8.2 is released for these new laptops....

  • After install updates not listed in app store

After installing mac software updates, they don't show up under the App Store Update listing. Camera and Printer updates are listed. But not operating system updates or security updates.  I assume they got installed as no issues with install process.

Another thing, I've tried to redownload 10.9 and it doesnt download.
Antoher detail, the App Store app says I have 9 updates pending but just shows the installed in past 30 days.
    HELP!

    Two things you can try.
    - Sign out of the App Store (in the Store menu)
    - Quit the App Store
    - In Finder - Go>Go to folder...  (or Apple-shift-G)
    - Paste in the following "~/Library/Caches/ "
    - It will take you to a folder.  Delete com.apple.appstore
    - Launch the App Store.
    and
    Try resetting the App Store.

  • HT1338 iPhoto update not registering with App Store

I updated iPhoto, but it's still showing up in my App Store Updates list (with 'Installed' next to it). I can't remove it from the list. App Store still thinks I have one new update. It's been like this for a while.
Anyone know how I can get rid of this?
    Thanks.

    Did you accept the apps?
Go to the Purchases List. Click on Accept.
Then you'll be able to update.

  • Have just purchased a Macbook Air, already have iPad and iPhone. Apps not appearing in App Store that are already on phone and iPad. what am i doing wrong?

    App help

Not sure I understand the question... if you're trying to download apps to your Mac that you've downloaded to your iOS device, note that the Mac and the iPhone/iPad use two completely separate operating systems, therefore you need to purchase/download separate app versions for each OS.

Your profile indicates your Mac is running v10.7.2
If that is correct, updating your system software may help.
Click Software Update from the Apple menu.
Restart your Mac after updates are installed then try the App Store.
If you can't update that way, there's a workaround.
Install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)
Then restart your Mac and try the App Store.

Force close the App Store app and reset the iPad. No data will be lost when you reset the device.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • My iPad will not connect to the update section under the app store?

My iPad will not connect to the update section under the app store I've tried everything what do I do?

Can you download new apps? If you can, go to the App Store featured tab and do a search for one of the apps that tells you it needs an update. When the app appears in the search, tap on the app icon and the description window for the app will pop up. Try updating the app from there and see if that works.
Have you tried rebooting your router? Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again?
Look at this article and see the section about the DNS settings on the iPad.

  • After update ios 7.1 Could not connect to App store

Last night i updated my ipod 5g to  ios 7.1.But this morning i could not   connect to App store or iTunes Store.
    Any solutions??

See what you did not yet do here
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
