Updates Show After Installed?
I just installed CS6. So, I selected Help-->Updates in Photoshop and discovered just about every app in the suite needed to be updated. So, I downloaded and installed the updates, rebooted, opened PS, checked for updates, and the same udpates all show as available.
Shouldn't the Update Manager check my current versions and recognize everything is already updated? Maybe I am missing a setting?
1. Search "This Mac" in the Finder for outdated copies of the app(s) that keep being updated. Delete any you find. Make sure the search scope is "This Mac" or you may miss some.
2. If the search results seem to be inaccurate, rebuild the Spotlight index. If you try to search now, there will be an indication that indexing is in progress.
3. If the above steps don't resolve the problem, back up all data, then quit each app in question and uninstall it by following the instructions on this page. Alternatively, you can drag it from the Applications folder to the Trash, and empty. The data files you created will be preserved. Verify in Spotlight that there are now no copies of the app on your system. Download it from your Purchases history in the App Store.

Hello people,
I can't update iPhoto after installing OSX 10.9.2, it has the name otto@**** in the apple ID box and will not let me change it. Any thoughts?
Thanks
<Email Edited By Host>You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method. -
This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled... this comes up when I go to update Iphoto after installing Yosemite... how do I fix this?
I have resolved this issue with the apple chat support by going to the "purchases" tab in the app store - where there was a message that I had to accept updates for the apps that wouldn't update. Once I did this, signing in for each of them, they all updated just fine.

I just bought a 15" macbook pro, do the cds that come with the mac have the drivers i need to update windows after installing windows using boot camp?
What DVDs are this ?
If it is OSX Snow Leopard Installation DVD then yes this disc contains the BootCamp Drivers version 3.x and is needed after the installation of Windows to install the BootCamp Drivers.
With OSX Lion BootCamp is at version 4.x and the BootCamp Drivers have to be downloaded during use of the BootCamp Assistant in OSX.

I can't update iPhoto after installing yosemite
i can't update or open iPhoto after installing yosemite
Ok so here's what you gonna do. (had this problem myself today, and after some fiddling figured out what to do.)
Find your old iPhoto with a cross through it, right-click it and select 'show package contents'. A folder will open. In that folder go to Contents>MacOS and there will be three little things there. Click on the one called 'iPhoto' and terminal will open. Leave terminal open and wait four seconds and VOILA! iPhoto opens. Leave terminal open until you are finished with iPhoto, because if you close terminal, iPhoto will close with it. THX! ENJOY! Hope it works.
P.S.
You can close terminal once you close iPhoto. I also suggest backing up your iPhoto library while you can. -

HELP !!!"This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled" iPhoto is gone after installing to OS X Yosemite. Where did it go and how do i get all my pictures back ??
HELP !!!
Did you upgrade to Yosemite, without first updating to iPhoto 9.5.1 in Mavericks? Then updating to 9.6 may not work - it is buggy at the moment.
If you already own a version of iPhoto 9.x.x, but cannot update iPhoto, try to buy a new version. When I look at the AppStore, the price has now changed to "Free", so it should not matter if you buy again or update.
Delete iPhoto from Applications, but do not empty the Trash.
Go to the first page of the App Store and sign in with your AppleID.
Search for "iPhoto" using the Search field.
What does the button below the iPhoto icon show? If it is showing "Free" like for me, click "free" to purchase again. -
Macbook Pro Retina EFI update 1.2 doesn't clear from software update list after installing
I've had this problem for a few weeks.
I install the update via the App Store, the system restarts, but afterwards I get a notice from the App Store that the same update needs to be installed. If I look further down the list of installed items it does record the update as being installed, but I'm not sure if it was really installed.
Note: I have tried to install the update manually w/o the App Store, but I still get a notice from the App Store after restart that the update needs installing.
This isn't huge deal, but it's kind of annoying that I'm not sure if the update was installed or not, and frankly, my OCD kicks in whenever I see that this update is still not clearing from the list of items to be installed.
By the way, the update has to do with the nvidia card not losing performance after the computer wakes up.
Thank youHi there
However, I spoke to Apple and was given the following advice:

Thank you for contacting Apple.
Based on the details you provided, we think you might find the following information helpful:
OS X Mavericks: Reset your computer's PRAM
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)

Try resetting the PRAM and please report if the freezing trackpad happens again. Please post in the following thread:

Version Cue still says update available after install
I restored my computer using time machine earlier this morning, and then I installed Camera Raw Version 5.5 using Version Cue, seemingly everything went fine because my Camera Raw version does show as 5.5, but every time I check for updates using Version Cue it still says one update to be installed, the Camera Raw version 5.5! is there any preference file for Version Cue that I should delete because of the time machine restore?
FIXED
I uninstalled iTunes and then re-installed from apple.com. Then I opened the app store and it finally updated as all up to date.
Thanks for the help APPLE!!! -

Help! Can't update apps after installing Yosemite
I am working on a Mac Book Pro from 2011. When I got my Mac I had a different Apple ID and password. After installing Yosemite, I need to update iphoto as well as a few other apps, however when I try, I get this message.
Update Unavailable with This Apple ID - This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the tiem was refunded or cancelled.
Does anyone know how I can get things to update. I cant remember my old Apple id.
Thank youI had the same problem, but found the solution. In the AppStore click the "purchases" tab next to the "Update" tab. There you have to accept the items as new, and they will begin to download after entering your AppleID. Good luck!

I updated by software by using Software Update. iWork, Java, Remote Desktop, iDVD, iWeb, Mac OSX and iTunes were updated. After restarting my computer I now have a white, 1" margin on the left side of my screen and a 1" black margin on the right side of my screen. I tried changing the Display and it didn't work.
