Updates tab doesn't connect
For the past week or so I see a flag on the App Store icon signifying available updates. When I tap the App Store icon and then tap the Updates icon at the bottom (which also displays a number for updates), I get a blank screen. The progress (circle of dominoes) in the uper left next to the WiFi strength icon is displayed for a moment and when it stops, the screen is still blank. The only way I've been able to access the updates is to tap the Purchased icon and go thru the list of apps looking for those with the "Update" button, which, when pressed, goes to the App Store and complete the updating process.
My system: iPad 2, iOS 6.1.3, no jailbreaking, no non-iTunes apps, should be a plain vanilla iPad.

I have Firefox set up to update automatically. The update window will occasionally pop open and remain in "connecting" mode for as long as the computer is on. Although this seemed odd, the process happens in the background so I'd assumed the updates were proceeding on schedule. Most importantly, the window "About Firefox", which I check to make sure the update occurred, does indeed indicate that Firefox is up to date. Today I visited the Mozilla site and realized I'm still using Firefox 5.01 when the current version seems to be 7. No idea about the status of plugins or any ancillary software.
hello, when this is happening after you've already updated firefox with your admin account, try to delete the ''updates'' folder and ''active-update.xml & updates.xml'' within the %localappdata% folder of your restricted account like it is described in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update#Software_Update_not_working_properly

Adobe Updater CS3 doesn't connect to the Internet
My Adobe Updater (version CS3) will not connect to the Internet.
I want to make sure I have the latest software, so is anyone able to help?Same thing happens to me. Periodically Adobe Updater runs, and just sits there forever, spinning in a dialog that says "No Internet connection. Please check your Internet settings and/or firewall. Waiting for connection..."
My Internet connection is fine. I'm running 10.9.3.
BTW, I let my CS3 subscription lapse. -
App Store update tab not loading!!
When opening the App Store to update the apps, the update tab doesn't load, the others do, not on my iPad or on my iPhone. What should I do?
I believe the store is overloaded, and will clear itself when people calm down loding OSX Lion.
Try a different time of day, don't forget usa is in the afternoon evening and they will be hammering Lion downloads about now after a hard day at work... -
Any Apple related (Mac app store, itunes, software update) doesn't connect
First recently I had a problem with Mac app store. "Store News" a free app showed on my update tab but I've never downloaded that app before. It was not even installed on my mac or showing under my apps. The worst was when I clicked on update button for the app it asked for another account to login. I could not update the app or remove it because for this app that weird account was required! I asked for Apple support and they told me to get help from the developer. I did and they were amazing but the problem was not the app but Mac app store was hacked! And Apple doesn't admit that so they suggested me to kill my mac and reinstall my system! I didn't (yet!) because I heard about one big update at app store before Lion and thought "maybe this solve everything!". BUT when I tried to get software update it didn't connect. After trying to update my system, neither app store and itunes connect.
My internet connection is working fine, I can browse, download, mail works fine. BUT I cannot connect to software update, itunes or app store. Why?
So I manually downloaded the 10.6.8 combo update and installed hoping I could get things back to normal. Even after the update I still can't connect those services. Anybody having the same issue?

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- Try another cable
- Try on another computer

Try using the Software Update on your iPhone by going to Settings > General > Software Update. One thing to keep in mind if you are trying it on the computer is to make sure that you are not pressing any keys down when checking for updates as that may bring up a pop up window to find the update file.

I use iphone5, I see an app update on the app store. but when App store and click on the update tab, it doesn't show me which application to update.. just gives me a blank page.!!!! I wouldn't able to know what app has to be updated, untill and unless i get check for each every app on the app store installed on my iphone... what is the solution for this.!!!! can any1 one help me out.!!!!

You can probably change the ID in the "iTunes and App stores" settings on the iPad....click on the wrong account ID , select sign out, then log in with your own ID, I have not done this but I think it works.....
but I would be more inclined to to the factory reset and start afresh. -
I updated a program on my Mac Book Pro and now Safari doesn't connect to the internet but Outlook and my mail does.
I have shut the compluter down completely but I still have the problem.

Thnksssssss....So you are saying that you followed all of the steps in the support document for problems with connection, including removing and reinstalling iTunes? You do not say what you have tried, so it is hard to make recommendations. If this is the case, then you have tried resolving driver issues? What if you go to Device Manager and look for the iPhone. You should be able to click on it and see about drivers. You can update/reinstall the device driver.

I've tried and tried several times to Connect my device to my PC and follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes to download the update from Apple. Problem is iTunes doesn't connect to my iPad so that I can update to iOS 5. I don't see the iPad icon when iTunes loads. I have looked in my computer and see the iPad is recognized. Any one else having this problem? This is also happening with my iPod

After updating ipod touch to iOS 5 it doesn't connect to itunes (or computer) any more.
After updating my ipod touch 4G to iOS 5 it doesn't connect to itunes (or my computer) at all.
itunes shows an error. I can't turn it on or off either. i can only see the black screen with the apple while it's (aparently) working.
my itunes is the latest version, that shouldn't be the problem.
can anyone help me?!The updating on the iPod only is a feature of iOS 5. yu first have to connect to your syncing computer and upadate to iOS 5. After that you can do subsequent updating via wifi without a computer.

Usually it's because you are not making internet connection via wifi.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
