Updates tab not working in the App Store
The updates tab is not working in the App Store. I have to go to purchased tab to find the apps that need updating. How can I fix this? I've turn off the iPad multiple times hoping it will reboot but it doesn't help.
Apparently there are problems updating updates on iOS devices > Apps update not working. Was before but...: Apple Support Communities
Try again later or tomorrow.
It's been reported to Apple.

My wishlist is not working in the app store on my ipad it is woking fine in itunes store so i can add films and music but the icon "add to wish list" is not available on the app store so does anyone know how to fix this
The wish list only works on apps you have to pay for. To get it tap the icon of the app you want to save. After it opens at the upper right corner is a box with a arrow. Tap that then tap add to wish list list in the box that opens.

I am trying to install an update for Java. The system won't allow it, saying I have specified "in Security" not to install any download not from the App Store. The only preferences pane I know of is the one on Safari, and it doesn't have anything about this. Am I looking in the wrong place? How can I get around it? I had the same trouble trying to install an Adobe Flash upgrade.
When I use your hot link "these instructions" I get a blank page.
Here is the message I get on trying to install a Java Script update:
This is frustrating in that
the update is not available on the App store.
it refers to security preferences I did not set and can't identify or locate--no such settings appear in Safari> security.
Can you be more specific? Thanks.

What happened to mt apps after uploading ios6
some are gone, some don't work & they are not listed in the App Store anymoreI found the following in the Macbook Help, and the last bullet worked for me.
"You can uninstall apps you got from the Mac App Store, from other websites, or from discs. You can’t uninstall apps that are part of OS X, such as Safari and Mail.
Apps downloaded from the Mac App Store: Click the Launchpad icon in the Dock, hold down an app’s icon until all the icons begin to jiggle, then click an app’s delete button . If you later want the app, you can reinstall it from the Mac App Store. If an icon doesn’t have a delete button, it can’t be uninstalled in Launchpad. For more information about Launchpad, see Use Launchpad to view and open apps.
Apps that have an uninstaller: In the Finder sidebar, click Applications. If an app is inside a folder, it might have an Uninstaller. Open the app’s folder. If you see Uninstall [App] or [App] Uninstaller, double-click it and follow the onscreen instructions.
Apps that don’t have an uninstaller: In the Finder sidebar, click Applications. Drag the app from the Applications folder to the Trash (located at the end of the Dock), then choose Finder > Empty Trash. If you change your mind, before emptying the Trash, select the app in the Trash, then choose File > Put Back.WARNING: When you empty the Trash, the app is permanently removed from your Mac. If you have any files that you created with the app, you may not be able to open them." -
ever since I updated my iPod software my iPod will not connect to the app store and won't let me download anything. help
Hook it up to your computer and open itunes. try to download hte apps via your computer. Every time you update hte software you have to reagree to the itunes terms of service. Sometimes it's hard to get it to come up on the device, but is easier on a computer.

Can not connect to the app store
Hi all,
I hope one will be able to give me more help than the apple support team.
I've installed the update on my two computers.
On the IMac it is working fine in several account.
On my MacBook Pro, the app is stuck on"Can not connect to the app store".
I've tried the suggestions of the help menu, and from some discussions. I even reinstalled the ocmbo update.
Nothing happens.
If somebody has some clue?
Thanks in advance.
arnoHI and welcome...
Download and install the v10.6.6 combo update available here.
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1349
Then repair permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done.
If you see any warnings re: SUID messages, they can be safely ignored, information here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448?viewlocale=en_US

Not connecting to the app store
I can not connect to the app store!
Trying to update apps but it just hangs, with no way to continue.
This is a wifi only ipad.Usually it's because you are not making internet connection via wifi.
Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Hello i have what I think is a first generation Ipod touch which did not come with the App store already downloaded onto it, can I not download apps to my Ipod touch?
If you have a 1G iPod you can update to as far as 3.1.3. Yu get hat paid update here:
Purchasing iOS 3.1 Software Update for iPod touch (1st generation)
You can identofy your iPod here:
Identifying iPod models
What iOS is curently on your iPod (Setting>Genral>About>Version) you need as lest 2.0 for apps but most apps need 3.0 or later. -
Yesterday I noticed while browsing Internet that some sites would not open and that some games I regularly play would not open. I also found that I could not open either the apps store or iTunes. Everything seemed to be working the day before and I have not recently upgraded ios (been on version 6.1.3 for a while) or changed any settings on my iPad (2). With Internet research today I found suggestion that if I switched to 3G I would be able to access these apps and, sure enough, under 3G connection everything works fine. Some other forums suggest changing wifi router settings to fix the issue ....I have not tried this as I wouldn't like to mess with my router and end up effecting other peripherals/pc's connected to it that are working fine....especially when I am not terribly IT savvy when it comes to hardware settings. But as I haven't changed anything on my ipad why would my wifi suddenly stop connecting to some apps on my iPad, but not all??? Interestingly I can access many Internet sites (forums) with wifi connection but not the apple forum! To get to anything apple related I have to switch back to 3G ....that includes checking the iOS version I am on via settings!
I also mention that I have done all the other suggested fixes found on various forums, such as rebooting iPad, renewing wifi lease, clearing cookies, closing all apps etc etc, to no avail. Seems the only suggested fix I have not tried is mucking around with my router which I am very hesitant to do given the **** I went through with my telco when my home Internet connection suddenly stopped working last year. Took me weeks of phone calls to get my internet connection back and being forced by the telco to a more expensive plan, hence very reluctant to start mucking around with that side of things, but why should I need to when it does seem to be working ok with other devices in the home?
I have started this as new discussion as, even though I am not terribly IT savvy, I cant see how this could be related to the wifi issues that many on the newer devices (iPhone 5 and iPad mini etc) are reporting as I haven't recently upgraded anything on my ipad and all was working perfectly up until yesterday.
Any other suggestions on how to get wifi working correctly again on iPad or do I really have to risk the working of every other device in my home and chase it from modem/router side?Hi there,
You mentioned that you have tried a few troubleshooting steps already, but you may want to take a look at the article below, specifically the section titled "If you are unable to access the Internet while connected to a Wi-Fi network"

I currently have QB for Mac 2011 loaded on another computer that I am trying to stop using. I have tried downloading QB 2011 from the intuit site but when I open it up on the new MBA the message is that I can't open it because it was not downloaded from the App Store. Fair enough... but I can't find it in the App Store. Any help?
I don't want to purchase another copy of it; I just want to transfer the program from one puter to the other, enter the registration code and discontinue it on the original one.
TIAHi,
If you have the Download (or .dmg) then go to System Preferences > Security an Unlock the Padlock for the General tab.
You may need to set the bottom option "Anywhere" to allow Apps not from the App Store to be installed.

Mail is not working. The app opens because I see a light on under "Mail" in the dock, and I see the menu at the top of my screen, but I don't see the app itself or any windows. It is like it is running in the background, but I can't see it. Everthing is subdued when I click on the choices up in the menu. I have tried "Force Quit" and then re-opening the mail app several times, and have rebooted my notebook twice. What is weird is that this started right after I changed my password in a browser (it is a gmail account). I went into the System Preferences on my MacBook and changed my password there as well, so it should be setup properly to open. I am running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5. Any help anyone can provide is much appreciated.
The current Mail version for 10.6.8 Snow Leopard is 4.6 (1085). Run Software update or the combo updater ... Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
