Updates to be downloaded but can't.

I have the java version 1.4.2_03. java will popup and say there are updates to install. it downloads and asks if I want to install but says that there is an error and won't install. whats goin on with that.

hard to say. Why don't you just download the latest release and install that instead??

I can't update firefox , it downloads , but won't work cos it thinks firefox is already open, but it's not any clues please ?

I get the prompt to update , It actually downloads but when i try to install it rejects saying firefox is open in another instance close this and try again . ( I have checked my windows task manager and it definitely not running )

The latest iTunes version is 11.0.1 version. 11.0.2 does not exist. Have you tried opening Apple menu > Software Update and install iTunes 11.0.1? If it doesn't show up, you have already iTunes 11.0.1

Tools > Downloads or {Ctrl + J} will open the Downloads window

It sounds like you’re concerned because you don’t see your rentals in iTunes, but they appear to have downloaded. Take a look at the article below and check the Rentals tab in iTunes on your MacBook.
About renting movies from the iTunes Store - Apple Support
Find movies you rented previously
Find your movie on the device you used to rent it.
On a Mac or PC: Go to the Rentals tab in the Movies section of the iTunes Library.
On an iOS device: Go to the Rental tab of the Videos app.
Using Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation): Look in the top shelf of the main menu.

Analytics can be accessed from the account under which folios are published for that app. If you don't see it under the account, I think it's best you contact support. Login to your DPS dashboard and click on "Contact Support" at the bottom left

Still Here is what it takes you to get what you want .
Firstly , your iPhone by default comes with preset of 16-18 Apps in your Homescreen (including Dock)
Make sure your apps are installed either directly from the app store in your phone or through iTunes in your Mac or PC
once they are installed you can notice them by swiping the homescreens.
Long press the app icon , you can notice they all would be in "jiggle" mode
Drag them and place them in your home screen
