Updates waiting in app store but pressing update just opens the app, any help? (iPhone 4)
Hi, I have and iPhone 4 and am still on iOS7
The app store says I have updates waiting for about 10 apps, usually I would just 'update all' but that is grey/not 'pressable'
When I press 'update' on the apps individually all it does it open the app/take me to it.
Have tried powering off and on again but no luck, have no idea what to do, any help appreciated.
Perform the following, stopping with the first one which works:
1. Open the Mac App Store's Purchases tab. If you're prompted to accept them into your Apple ID, do so.
2. Move them out of the Applications folder(they may need to be put into the Trash temporarily), and then see if you can download them for free from their individual product pages. If you're asked to buy them, see #3.
3. Click here, contact Apple, and wait for a response.
4. Buy them.

not sure what the problem might be, but you can try the following:
While pressing ALT+CMD on the keyboard, click on the Aperture icon in the dock: Aperture then opens in a special "recovery mode", and you're prompted to choose what kind of repair you need: Repair Permissions / Repair Database / Rebuild Database
Considering the situation, I'd recommend you to try "the "Repair Permissions" option first.
If that isn't enough (and it may well be the case), then go straight for the "Rebuild Database" option; it's a non-destructive opration anyway, but since you've just installed Aperture you shouldn't have anything valuable in the default library...
NOTE: if you do have some pictures in the library, instead, do a backup first! Time Machine is your friend
Another option would be to launch Aperture while keeping only the ALT (option) key pressed: Aperture will ask you what library you want to open, or you can choose to create a new one from scratch.

Anyway, my question Why isn't my app store working? Is there a glitch in the IOS 7 or something. But let me get into further detail about my situation. I wanted to get this app from the app store. When I click on the app everything is fine at first, but then i click on the "search button" and I type out the name of the app.And usually the name of the app would pop up to what it appears be a list of the names of each app, but that never happened. Then, I clicked "enter" or "search" and it wouldn't load after hours and hours. And then I decided to go to the settings and see whats up with the app. I scoll down and click on the "ITunes & App Store" with an arrow pointing right. Once I clicked it, it freezes. But I haven't updated my phone (its IOS 7 but theres an update for IOS 7.1 or something like that)

Reset the device then try the App Store.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.
When you can, yes, there's an update available.

I have an ipad mini. I did an app update and now many of them have been showing a "waiting" message for two days and I cannot open the app or
delete the app. Any ideas?Double tap the Home button to bring up the multi-tasking bar...tap & hold any app until they all start to wiggle...tap the red minus sign to remove every app shown. Tap the Home button when finished. Try to delete the app now.

I have a MacBook with OS X 10.5.8 and I purchased a Mtn Lion OS up grade and it keeps telling me to install via the Mac App Store, but I can't get the Mac App Store installed on the MacBook it wants at least 10.6.6 so I seem to be stuck . Help

I noticed the same problem yesterday on my iPhone 5 (7.0.3)
Update all option was greyed out and attempting to update individually just opened the app.

Clicking update just opens the app?
Snapchat recently sent me a message saying that soon my version of the app will stop working, and that I need to update the app. However, when I go to the app store and to updates and click the update button, my phone just opens the app and nothing else happens. This happens with all of my apps.
Could it be that I don't have ios 8?

I have a friend who has a 4s iPhone without ios 8 and who updated her apps just fine...so any ideas on what's causing the problem and how I can fix it?Free up some space, a 4S is still a good phone and you can update it to 8.2 just fine. If that doesn't work, delete the app. Hold it until it wiggles, click X, delete. Go back to app store and redownload it. Should work. Need to back up that iphone, there are several different ways to back your pictures or videos.

Have you redeemed your iTunes card to an account associated with an Apple ID?
Once you have your iPad associated with an Apple ID AND you have an account with a credit card associated with the same Apple ID AND you have some 'store credit' (from redeeming your iTunes card) then purchases use the store credit before they charge the credit card, so you should be ok!
Personally, I use 'store credit' as a way to monitor whether or not there have been any 'unauthorised' purchases because as soon as the store credit is zero, the security code from the credit card is needed for further purchases! It does mean that I have sometimes to top up store credit before making a purchase, but 'better safe than sorry'! -

You will need to tell us more. The download didn't complete? The Mac App Store version is not complete? Are there components that are missing? If so, are they possibly separate downloads? How do you know the app is not all there?

I have uninstalled iPhoto and reinstalled from the app Store, but still don't have the cards, calendar etc option under Share. Any other suggestions please?
