The above message is shown when trying to update with MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.3v1.1.dmg as well as MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.3.dmg and MacOSXUpd10.6.3.dmg, but this occued after installing MacBookProSoftwareUpdate1.3.dmg (This update is recommended for all 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro mid 2010 models and contains improvements for graphics stability for high-performance video and gaming applications as well as various bug fixes.) which I now think broke Safari.

The i5 and i7 MBPs come with their own specific "build" of 10.6.3 pre-installed (and on the grey disks that come with them).
As I understand it this, rather than the 'regular" version of 10.6.3, is necessary to actually boot the new machines. Accordingly the "regular" versions of the 10.6.3 combo update won't work with them regardless of whether MacBookProSoftwareUpdate1.3 has been installed or not. Instead you have to use the grey installer disc that came with your machine when re-installing 10.6.3 on them.

Garage band wont work, need to install midi or audio drivers?

tried backing up my comp to install OSX leopard but failed. now garage band wont work! I keep getting this message...also want to know if its possible to upgrade to osx leopard with a 4th gen macbook that runs osx 10.4.11

Im having the same problem, I upgraded my IMAC and was using tiger and I upgraded it to MAC 10.5.7, now GarageBand wont work saying my midi and audio drivers arent correct. My Reason 4.0 wont start either saying the same thing failed to open the midi library. My Protools works fine but I dont know how to update the audio and midi drivers that it matches the software I uploaded. I also went to the audio midi set up and it read, Audio MIDI Setup was unable to launch the MIDI Server. This means that you will be unable to view or edit your MIDI configurations.
Improperly written MIDI drivers can prevent the MIDI Server from launching successfully. If you have recently installed a new MIDI driver, try uninstalling it and then relaunching Audio MIDI Setup. If Audio MIDI Setup works correctly after that, then please contact the driver's manufacturer for further support.

Software Update won't take you beyond 10.6.8 which is the highest incremental update for Snow Leopard. The fact that it won't let you upgrade to Mavericks suggests that your Mac is not compatible.
You should start by checking that your Mac can handle Lion, for which the requirements are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
The original early 2006 MacBooks have only a Core Duo processor and so are not compatible, but the models from late 2006 on have a Core 2 Duo and so should be.
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). You will get a code which you can use to download it from the Mac App Store.

I had computer problems on this computer when someone broke into my apartment and flooded the floor with water and then put a virus on my computer that made it connect one one website.
I am here because of NAVY INTELLIGECE , I was mentally disabled for 10 years before joining. I am in a building they made me do research on which killed my mom and dad because OLD WOMEN was getting pregnant from me who had tricked me when I was 13. They caused watergate.
The CRIMES OF THIS AREA ARE BEING INVESTIGATED AND 80 FEDERAL WARRENTS ARE GONG TO OCCUR. All of the CRIMES was connected to APRIL 8 which is the day they give money from COLORADO TAX REBATE for DISABLED PEOPLE for real estate tax. They had CRIMINALS that was using the LOCAL H AND R BLOCK in this town and had commited some murders and connected them to a place in NEW MEXICO. That is where they sent the TAX peopel from NM to FLORIDA WHERE i was living.
Now see all this APRIL 8 STUFF is connected to KEN who has 160 million who lives in FLORIDA because they could not catch the local people if they did not connect more crime and get them in too deep.

I kept getting error issue, well, try this and it worked for me. Turn of your computer and restart then open up ITunes again then it will say that your ipod is in recovery mode, hit restore and now it should work smoothly. Worked fine for me. Hope it works for you, now I need to be reimbursed 60 dollars SOON! I do not have 60 dollars in my account.

Ok. As I said that model does not allow for mirroring. As for the iPad it needs to be on the same network and ATV up to date as well as enabled for airplay.

App Update Wont Work IPhone 3GS

My email is signed in to the app store on my iphone 3GS I can download apps and my email shows up asking for my password like always I put it in and it downloads but when I try to update apps my brothers email address pops up and asks for the password iv tried entering my password and it doesnt work and my brother wont give me his password so what should i do to get his email off and mine back on? PLEASE AMSWER IMMEDIATELY!!!

Is his email registered in the mail application?
If yes, go to settings, 'mail, contacts, calendar' and the mail application users will appear. To delete them, just click on the email, something will pop-up, scroll down and there will be an option to delete it.
Otherwise, you're brother will have to enter his password.

I-pod updater wont work

when i connect my ipod to my computer it says my ipod needs to be updated(i also have the new update software) and so when it comes up it says my ipod has an internal ettor and when i hit ok it just goes away and it wont come up on my itunes, sooo someone plz help me out here.

I had that problem when ifirst connecting it to my computer when i first bought it, some dude on ipod lounge said to install/update on another comp then plug into yours and it will work and it did, it seems to be a problem with the install shield wizard.

HI, i recently created a new apple ID due to my old one being disabled. I have quite a few much needed updates, which include paid and nonpaid items. (irrelevent?) My new ID works in all feilds except updates. When the verification box pops up it uses my old email as my username and I cannot find out how to change that in order to update my apps. The iTunes store itself shows that it is using my new ID, how can I change the username in my verification box inorder to update?
*may I add that I have tried turning on and off my iPhone, and resetting my ID in my computer too.*

Itunes update wont work with windows 8.1

after i updated my laptop to windows 8.1 my itunes has been acting wacky. It only plays music and wont reconized or sync my iphone 4s anymore. Im not sure who to complain to because i updated both im not sure if its windows or itunes PLEASE help i havent been able to put music on my iphone for 2 weeks x_x

Apllication Malfunction ever since upgrade, updates wont work

I have a 15 inch Macbook pro that ive had since november of last year. I recently upgraded to leopard on my laptop, and have had some serious problems since then. My biggest query is that of iMovie HD, a program that came with my laptop and i use more than any other program. Ever since the upgrade, it will do its automatic function and try to open my last project, but the second it tries it quits immediately and tells me that the program quit unexpectedly and gives me a chance to ignore, report to mac (which does nothing) or relaunch. I try to realunch over and over, but it always quits. I really need the program, and with my 99$ .mac membership renewal, it would be hard to afford the entire iLife 08 just to get the new iMovie. Is there anyway to restore my program without paying the price? I have a version of FinalCut for the complicated editing, but i need imovie for the small stuff
note: this is iMovie HD, not regular iMovie.

$29 SuperDuper, or use Carbon Copy Cloner.
$9 for Leopard Cache Cleaner (does more than just clean caches)
Upgrade? with or w/o backups?
Was Tiger not working?
Upgrade, but do an erase and install.

Help! My DVD drive wont work when i install iTunes....

I Installed iTunes when i bought my iPod, but my Disc drive wont read any cd's when iTunes is installed. I uninstalled iTunes 4 times now and every time i uninstall iTunes amizingly my disc drive works again.
When iTunes is re-installed it wont read any discs, music cd's movies programs or picture cd's.
Im contemplating returning my iPod for a Zune but i really dont want to have to do that, i love my iPod...
please if anyone can help id really appritiate it...

I'am trying to update the new software onto my iphone 4 and it has told me i need to restore my phone,m so i try to do it but then stops restoring about half way through and it just says my phone is in recovery mode and wont work

Sounds like your phone was hacked to unlock. Restoring the phone put it back to Apple specs for that phone. You will need to find out which carrier it is locked to and see if you qualify for unlocking.

Parallels wont work after leopard install

I recently installed the Leopard update. I have been running parallels on my mac but ever since I installed the upgrade I cannot get my windows xp to work. I can switch over but when I open it none of the windows programs will open. HELP!!!

I had this same problem. Parallels wouldn't boot, instead it bounced and then gave me an error message. Yesterday, I tried to go to Parallels support but it was broken. Today, I just opened up Parallels and it worked. Go figure. I have build 4128 from 9 June 2007. Parallels support is saying they are in the process of integrating their centers.
