Updating a customer infotype detail table (in PIQSTM) from an interface

We have a customer infotype that has a header table (HRP....) and a detail table (HRT.....) and we have this attached to transaction PIQSTM. This works fine. However, we now have a requirement to update the infotype via an interface and we have hit a problem using the standard function modules. We have tried, for example, using FM 'HRIQ_PNNNN_MAINTAIN' but have found that whilst it updates the header ok, if any detail record exists it is always overwritten. We need to keep the existing detail records attached to the same header.
I've debugged the way our tables are updated when saved in PIQSTM and can see that there is a lot going on with buffers. It seems that buffers are updated and then FM 'RH_BASE_UPDATE_DB_DIALOG' is called, ultimately resulting in an insert to our detail infotype table. In our interface program, obviously I would prefer not to update the table directly. I guess BDC is always an option but again, I'd prefer not to use it if possible.
Has anyone out there done this and can offer me any advice ?

As u said i have created a Z program, and also i have used the following FMs.
1. 'HR_INFOTYPE_LOG_GET_LIST'
2. 'HR_INFOTYPE_LOG_GET_DETAIL'
Using these FMs i am able to get log records from the standard infotypes but i am unable to fetch data from the custom infotype tables.
Please give me any solution to read the log records from the custom infotype tables.

Custom Infotype - Using Table control in the screen. IN OM

I am having a requriement where in I need to create a custom infotype using table control in the screen. I have to create this in OM and I am using PPCI transaction to create the info type. I am able to create the infotype with fields but not table control. Please let me know if any one of you came across and help me with the process I need to follow.

After you create the info type throug PPCi, you can directly go to the Sceen module program created automatically while creating Info type and edit the screen.
activate it after your changes.

Custom infotype with table

Hi Guyz,
i have to create a custom infotype with a table in it.i have created the PS structure (PM01)with fields a,b,c,d,e. i gave the infotype charac, techn attr, activated the PA table and P structure . In the lay out editor i created a table and put the fields a, b and c. i dragged the input/output field on the table and then dragged the text fileds above them. when i check the layout i get the following error in the flow logic.

The field P9888-ZA is not assigned to a loop. "LOOP............ENDLOOP" must
appear in "PBO" and "PAI"
can anyone tell me how and where should i write the code for the table to get activated. Thanks a lot.

Using PSI Is it possible to update project custom filed which has a lookup table. I tried but it throws the following exception

Hi,
I have to update a Master Details table,
in this case after clicking the edit button user will be forwarded to the Edit page with one Header info & its corresponding Line info(e.g one header info and its 10 line info)
user can edit header & its line info in the edit page and after clicking save header & line info will be updated to the database header & line table.
more than one line info should be saved at a time-- is it possible??

Performance issue while updating the custom infotype records

i have the info type with 80,000 records my requirement is to change the infotype wage type value to the certain hard coded values .
after populating the final internal table , in loop i am passing the records and updating the info type by using the hr_infotype_operation function module
i have done the coding like bellow .
loop at lt_infotype assigning < x>
at new pernr.

but it is taking nearly 15 hours to update all the records .please suggest me better solution for reducing the execution time .

The delay problem can be solved with HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION by using it with another FM i.e. HR_PSBUFFER_INITIALIZE the delay happens because of buffer problem. Use HR_PSBUFFER_INITIALIZE inside the loop just before you call HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION and you wont see that much delay.

Need to update corresponding columns in details table

Hi,
I have a header and lines table.
In header table we have a comments field, requirement is whenever someone is updating comments in header it should update lines comment column as well.
I tried using fire action on Comments field like as soon as user is entering something in Comments field I am capturing that event and firing and update statement for lines table
but the problem here is, if user enters the comments and doesn't save it at header level it stills fire an update statement in lines and updating the comment field of lines table.
I need to update header comments in lines level at Apply button.
Please someone suggest something.

Error while updating a custom Windows Azure Diagnostics configuration xml from powershell. "Invalid update to extension reference for role"

I am attempting to upload a manually edited WADConfig xml to my VM. The WAD service is functioning correctly, I needed to add some custom WinEventLogs. The prescribed steps result in an error.
What am I overlooking?

Since Azure SDK 2.5 uses the extension model the diagnostics extension, the configuration and the connection string to the diagnostic storage are no longer part of the deployment package and cscfg. All the diagnostics configuration is contained within the
wadcfgx. The advantage with this approach is that diagnostics agent and settings are decoupled from the project and can be dynamically enabled and updated even after your application is deployed.
Due to this change some existing workflows need to be rethought – instead of configuring the diagnostics as part of the application that gets deployed to each environment you can first deploy the application to the environment and then apply the diagnostics
configuration for it. When you publish the application from Visual Studio this process is done automatically for you. However if you were deploying your application outside of VS using PowerShell then you have to install the extension separately through
PowerShell.
There PowerShell cmdlets for managing the diagnostics extensions on a Cloud Service are -

Not to Update custom infotype

Hi Expert,
I have one custom FM which is used to update the custom infotype but my requirement is when it get fail it should not update
the infotype but it is updating.Befor this FM we are performing operation i. e MASSN 07,08, .
This requirement is based on contract renewal when contract is not renewed it should not update custom infotype bue it is
updating when contract is not renewed through the above FM.
please give me some idea so that custom infotype should not get updated when contract is not renewed.But it is
updating the infotype what should i put to not update the infotype when contract is not renewal.

Custom infotype updation

I am working on custom infotype creation. In my requirement I have used table control concept where user enters multiple records and updates the custom infotype.
For a single PERNR,SUBTYPE, BEGDA and ENDDA I want to update multiple records into the infotype using table control concept.
Ex: PERNR : 25
      SUBTY: 2001
      BEGDA: 01/01/2001
      ENDDA: 12/31/2001
Here by using the function modules 'HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION' or 'HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA' I am trying to update the custom infotype where sequence number need to be increamented automatically for duplicate entries but only one record is getting updated instead of multiple records.
I have maintained the time constraint as '3'.
Please let me know the procedure to update multiple records at a time into custom infotype.

In the custom infotype table, if their are duplicate then the sequence number field value will be created automatically for time constainst '3' but using the function module it is not creating the sequence number but using the modify statement it is working fine.
Ex: Modify PA9002 from table GT_PA9002.
Please let me know the solution for updating multiple records into a custom infotype.

While updating a custom infotype 9008 with FM 'HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION', its giving adump.
Except. CX_HRPA_INVALID_PARAMETER.
I am using DIALOG_MODE as '1'. when I enter a valid field value to that particular field ( mandatory field) on that infotype, it gives dump.

Updating custom field in table EKKO within user exit when PO is saved

I am trying to update a custom field in table EKKO when a PO is saved. I am using FM EXIT_SAPMM06E_013, within enhancement MM06E005. Since EKKO is not a table that can be updated with this user exit, I am using a technic that I read about on SDN where I assign a field symbol to the calling program variable and then am able to access data within EKKO table. But when I pass this data back into the field symbol, for some reason this field is not getting saved when the PO is saved. In debug mode, it looks like this field is getting updated, but when I look in the table after the PO is saved, it is not there. My code sample is below. What I am doing wrong?

Firstly, have you investigated using EXIT_SAPMM06E_008 to set any custom fields you have added in the EKKO_CI / CI_EKKODB structure?.. that might work more easily.
In terms of doing an assign back into a calling program's memory, it can work but it's probably worth setting a break point in your code then stepping through watching the values in EKKO - sometimes you can find subsequent code that re-writes an earlier copy of values back into the structure, thereby preventing you doing your change... SAP does warn this method is for "internal use". Also check in your debugger that it's SAPLMEPO and not SAPMM06E you need.
